I give it 2 stars because it took 2 hours for my food to come and when it finally came my order was wrong. Other then that the food was good. They need more delivery men

They are THEEEEE worst! We ordered food from them and they delivered us molded food. Yes ! Mold and fuzz was all over the Mac n Cheese/Rice & Peas. They didn’t even apologize or try and correct themselves. They need to shut down. They’re a disgrace to Brooklyn and a true utter disgrace to Caribbean food period.

This is my second time ordering from here. Desperate for some nearby Caribbean cuisine I gave them another try. They’ve received 2 stars ONLY because delivery was decent and delivery guy was very pleasant. I ordered a med. oxtail with a side of macaroni pie, it was room temperature like it had been sitting a while and the pie was distasteful :/and sweet ! My boyfriend ordered shrimp rasta pasta but what a surprise. He opened the plate to find pasta with a bunch of curry shrimp on the side. Certainly not rasta pasta. Highly disappointed. Waste of money. They need a new chef! ASAP

Order Curry shrimp with«pasta», food smelled horrible and pasta was disgusting. A waste of shrimp, this place needs new cooks and staff!

First off, I wish I could give a review of the actual food, but I can not because I never got it. This review is solely regarding their delivery and professionalism. I placed an order through Grubhub, they were out of the rum cake and there was some back and forth in terms of calling before we were able to confirm an alternate selection. However, the delivery person arrived and left because I did not answer my phone. He did not get out of his car, let alone attempt to ring the buzzer or ask the doorman sitting at the desk to allow him to take the elevator up. No, he rolled by called once and left. I returned the call and the person who answered the phone proceeds to yell at me and say how much inconvenience I have caused by this and telling me how people just can’t sit outside and wait all day. When I asked why the delivery person did not ring the buzzer or engage with the doorman, I was told it was not in the instructions. And I thought you have to be kidding me, your delivery guy needs to be told to ring a buzzer when standing in front of a door with a working buzzer and a doorman? And you expect a tip for this? The instructions also did not say to call, but you did anyway. At that point, it was 2 hours since I had ordered and who knows what they had done to it by that point since missing a call ruined their day. When I informed her that I no longer wanted the food and would be canceling, she went off yelling that someone was going to pay for this food. I hung up and was refunded by GrubHub for my order. Needless to say, I do not recommend Stumpy’s Spot.

So I ordered the stew chicken and oxtail with white rice and a side of jerk wings. After waiting over an hour, the food arrived and smelled weird. It tasted even worse than it smelled. And it wasn’t only the platter but the jerk wings which came on the side also. I came to the conclusion that it might have been spoiled. I’m not sure if this is always the case but that was my first and last time ordering from this spot.

I wouldn’t recommend ordering from here. My chicken was undercooked and the delivery driver thought it was okay to call me and attempt to flirt with me. I had to escalate this to GrubHub in order to get my refund.

So my encounter this time with this restaurant was a complete let down. I made a group order on GrubHub of Curry Chicken Rasta Pasta, Fried Chicken Roti, Beef Patty, Oxtail with peas and rice, Fried Dumplings and lastly a Ting. My first encounter there it was great food tasted wonderful I had no complaints. This time was completely different the food was below average to me it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either. My Rasta Pasta tasted weird I don’t know if it was a different chef but I wasn’t too fond of the way it was cooked. The Fried Chicken Roti skin was extremely dry and the chicken didn’t have enough seasoning. Lastly they didn’t have beef patties and that was okay, but the fact that they was still charging me for it still was ridiculous and bad business protocol. Everything else was good I wouldn’t buy the Curry Chicken and the Fried Chicken roti again though they should add more seasoning because their chicken was very bland.

Stumpy’s is the worst! I’ve tried ordering from through grub hub on several occasions and every single time my order is wrong. They also do not specify that the curried crab is a small blue crab and the large comes with the same amount as the small except the add sides. It is the worst customer service ever. I would suggest O’s Grill for anyone in the area. DONOTGOTOSTUPMY“S SPOT. It’s called stumpy for a reason. BTW I wish i could give it zero stars

The delivery took two and a half hours. Rest of the review might not be important to you. Because if you’re hungry, two and a half hours is a long damn time to wait. Google Maps says that by car, it’s a nine minute drive from their place to my place. What they did with the extra two hours and twenty three minutes is a mystery. Also, to add to the fun, the delivery guy didn’t want to climb the steps to bring the food to the door. There are 10 steps. Food was hit or miss. Roti was good, but gringo alert, even the chicken had a lot of bones. Curry shimp over rice was good. Mac and cheese was not. And several of their menu options were not available via Seamless, but the person at the store was nice enough to call and tell me this. But still, two and a half hours.

I am appalled that I have to leave one star. I ordered delivery that took over two hours and a man on a BIKE delivered it. It’s 5 degrees outside and your delivery man is on a bicycle? Needless to say the food was freezing, subpar, the jerk chicken flavorless and the customer service beyond lackluster. I highly recommend ANYWHERE but here. If you were starving, and nothing else were open, STARVE. It’s Soo not worth it.

Ordered here twice through Seamless since I had coupon codes, otherwise the food wouldn’t be worth the price. I went to pick up the food both times. The first time I ordered a large jerk chicken dinner with rice and peas, no vegetables. Great portion size, makes me wonder what a small order would look like though. Tasty chicken, could’ve been spicier. The second time I ordered a large curry chicken dinner with rice and peas, but forgot to tell them no vegetables. So it came with cabbage and mixed veggies. The curry could’ve used some salt. Definitely a smaller portion than the jerk, but I don’t know if that’s because of the vegetables or not. On another note, whenever I went inside it was empty(8 pm on Saturday) which made me skeptical. The restaurant is small, not much to look at. All in all, I would order here again, but only if I have a coupon.

I was visiting a friend in the neighborhood and I knew she wouldn’t have any food for me to eat so I stopped and got a lunch plate from this spot. I ordered the jerk chicken lunch special that came with chicken, rice and beans and a few plantains. The chicken was decent and the rice and beans were okay, It wasn’t the worst or best that I’ve had. The store itself is a little hole in the wall that could use some sprucing up. However, for a take out spot it will do. Its very convenient right next to the train station. I would definitely order from here again when I’m in the area.

This place has really gone to the dogs. Delivery times exceed 2 hours and they never have 60% of the items listed on the menu. Telephone service is horrible as the unprofessional staff seem to be joking and playing games with one another in the background versus speaking with customers

I ordered the oxtail and curry chicken with calaloo rice and the chicken soup through seamless and they called after 30 minutes to say they didn’t have the callaloo rice. They took another hour to deliver the food. My kids keep asking me «where’s the food?» The poor kids. I guess it worth the wait because the food was great. I may order again, but way before I’m hungry.

We ordered off of GrubHub. The food took more than an hour to arrive but it was hot and fresh. We had the jerk chicken with rice and peas and plantains, the BBQ chicken and the oxtails. Once we sat down to eat, there wasn’t a sound out of anyone. The food was very good and the portions were very large and filling. I would try them again with home the the delivery would be quicker next time.

WAAAAAAAAAYYYY overpriced compared to most other caribbean spots for the portions. Food was good the first time I ordered but hasn’t been the same since. Very bland & watered down flavor & chicken roti didn’t taste fresh. Delivery takes forever & every time I order they say I must order $ 5 more. Placed $ 19 order, they said it had to be at least $ 20. Next time at least $ 25& the last time they said minimum $ 30. They deliver by bicycle. They told me they prefer I order direct &NOT through GrubHub which was originally how I found them. Most caribbean restaurants lack customer service but these workers have an especially STANK attitude. NOT a business I can recommend supporting.

Food was tasty! I ordered through seamless and it was delivered within the time frame noted. The jerk chicken was yummy and oxtail just right. My husband had a question so he called before we placed our order online. He said«this is the first time I called a Caribbean restaurant and the person that answered the phone was nice». I’ve been waiting for a long time for a Caribbean restaurant to deliver to my area. My wait is over! I will definitely order from Stumpy’s Spot again. ***editing my review*** The carrot cake is FANTASTIC!!! OMG so yummy. It was a small slice, but I thoroughly enjoyed every bite!!! ***editing my review, again*** I brought my star rating from 5 stars to 3 stars because the time it takes to have food delivered is insane! 2 hours is a bit ridiculous! I waited about 2 hours for my food more than a few times.

You know that scene in Close Encounters when all the believers find themselves mystically attracted to the strange shaped mountain? I’m that way when I see a big, black man working hard over two giant barrel BBQs full of burning bird. I simply must be part of that experience. Stumpy’s is basically a guy, those two grills on the sidewalk smoking up the neighborhood, and a small shop with a counter and no seats. On the menu was chicken, BBQ fish, West Indian bread and I think that was pretty much it. An order of chicken comes in two size… $ 5 or $ 10, and when the bird is cooked perfectly, he hatches it up into pieces and offers you a choice of sauces(jerk, BBQ, etc). I grabbed my order and jumped on the 3 train. It’s wasn’t long before the steamy aroma of BBQ chicken was wafting through the car, causing some drooling and I think I saw two ladies touching themselves. They are pretty much brand new so in time there might be some seats and a wider menu. But then again simplicity also works when you’ve got protein and flame.
