The food is absolutely epic here… My only complaint is the subpar customer service. If someone is polite and prepared to order you should not act as if their mere presence is sending you on a tailspin into a stratosphere of annoyance! The last thing I need after a long, rainy day of work(with a broken shoulder) is the caustic attitude of some disrespectful teenager/rude early 20 something who is so petty she refused to give me an extra lava sauce in place of the blue cheese I declined. Sides of dipping sauces are not bolstering your 401K! You should not have to pay extra if you want to exchange one complimentary sauce for another. I’m paying more than a dollar a wing– try being service oriented, SuperWings staff! I’m not from the islands, but damn! I would love it so much more if the staff was pleasant… They never ask for your WingCard and always seem annoyed to redeem Unilocal specials! Forget about delivery… They don’t even answer the phone.

You are missed and well appreciated… I haven’t found wings like SuperWings anywhere in New York! ;((

Closed. I made the trip all the way out to East New York to support a business I’ve loved for a long time to find a gated parking lot — Think Brooklyn Flea. It would be considerate to their customers if their website had accurate hours /locations listed so I wouldn’t have wasted an afternoon coming here.

Out of My last 5 visits to superwings, 4 of them have been men with iron gates. Great wings can only be great if the establishment is open. The worst thing is that there is no outgoing message on the answering service to alert customers that they are closed. I hope I can count on them in near future. Consistency is key.

Love this place but does anyone know what’s going on with business hours? Tried to go all last week and it was closed.

I used to love Super Wings. Contrary to some reviews here, I’ve never had an issue with the friendliness of the service. Actually all the people I’ve met here have been great. There was one issue with delivery getting screwed up due to their van breaking down which was rectified(delivery times can be rough in general), but otherwise I have no gripes. The food is high quality chicken wings and tenders in a variety of unique sauces. My personal favorites are the pineapple jerk(spicy but not crazy spicy), trini tamarind(lightly spicy, very flavorful), and ginger bluff(not spicy, unique flavor but you have to like ginger). The sides are also good, in particular the spinach bites and chickpea fritters. With a side salad, a meal here is well worth $ 10. They also are happy to give you extra sauce on the side if you’d like. Why the low star rating if the food is good? It may seem like a dumb reason, but honestly it’s the hours. Super Wings seems to close without warning whenever they want. I’ve come here several times over the past year when they decided to just pack it in early for some reason. I understand that they closed for renovations awhile back, but I was told they were open so was excited to have them again. I went the other night at 8pm, and low and behold they’re closed. This same scenerio has played out too many times. I cannot come here again or recommend anyone else do so. Too bad, as I enjoyed the food and the owner is a nice lady the few times I’ve met her.

Super Wings is an absolute treasure. We called in our order on a Friday night and when the woman on the phone said it’d be 3 minutes, we thought she had mis-spoken, but when my partner walked down the block to pick up the wings were ready to go! We both got the 1 lb wing with a side and salad. The plantains are delicious and not too fried, the mango salad has an appropriately sweet dressing and the wings are out of this world. Of the four flavors we got, Trini Tamarind, Pineapple Jerk, and Ginger Buff were our favorites. I couldn’t have been happier with my experience and the food was amazing. Thank you Super Wings!

I’ve been enjoying super wings for years now, I love good food & supporting black owned businesses. But my ginger buff wings last night were extremely dry. It was as if they had been sitting under a heat lamp for hrs. Extremely disappointing. I also had the honey mustard, which is one of my fav flavors. It too was dry and seemed to be plain wings drizzled with honey mustard sauce. Now, I don’t like leaving bad reviews, especially when the food is usually good, but I think product consistency is important. Based on the other reviews, I’m not the first to experience the dry wings. I did enjoy the sides, but the wings are the focal point. Here’s to hoping you guys address this issue! :)

I was passing by this spot and i took a peak and it said Brooklyn 1# wing spot. Nice looking hole in the wall spot. Looks very clean. Friendly staff. I tried the ginger Lbs wings. The sauce taste really good and unique. But the wings are very dried. I couldn’t taste the flavors of the chicken for my teeth were fighting to chew the hardness of the wings. I’ll have to try it again some other time I’m in Brooklyn. Maybe it was a one time thing or coincidence.

The wings are good. Could be meatier wings. Some of the wings were tough. Pineapple jerk is delicious. Didn’t try the sides.

Spicy. Very spicy. Super spicy wings. Prices were reasonable, portions were pretty decent. If you’re big about spicy wings, no doubt this is the place to go. The décor of the place made me reminisce about back home in the Caribbean, which was a huge(albeit personal) plus. The staff was good, and the wait wasn’t crazy. Would definitely come back.

I really like this place. I would love to give them a higher rating because they have a lot of positives, but they fell short in some key areas. Super Wings, in concept is exactly what I think the world needs more of, wing places! This place offers wings with a ton of interesting sauce options and a good variety of sides and other dishes. If you order a a wing combo with a side you get a salad as well. An appreciated attempt to provide a balanced meal, a real rarity nowadays. Where they fell short: Execution, about one third of my wings were over cooked and kind of hard. My French fries were cold and some of those where stale. I did enjoy the salad, and the wing sauces were really good But they made critical errors with the food. This place is getting a 3 from me and not a 2.5 because they service was very courteous and pleasant, the menu has some really great looking items and my friend really enjoyed her meal. I’ll be back to give them another shot and to try a few other menu items and will update the review.

Keeping this short: The food didn’t live up to the hype IMO. The wings weren’t very flavorful and soggy(like baked wings), the spinach bites were soggy, and the mango salad was ok, but tasted like canned mango. The woman at the counter was unprofessional and arguing with a customer about his order which seemed to be incorrect. The wait for the food wasn’t terrible, about 15 mins… but I expected things to taste fresher and less soggy as if they’d been waiting under a heating lamp or something. The free lemonade with Unilocal check-in was nice. I may try this place again.

Hmm I had Super Wings bookmarked for a while and finally tried them last week. Service is friendly and fast. The wings are uniquely tasty! I got the 1lb. combo– boneless ginger buff and Trini tamarind w/potato wedges and pineapple salad. The wings were chunky and perfectly dressed in savory delicious sauce. My boyfriend loved the ginger buff and even though I enjoyed both I prefer the Trini Tamarind, it’s tangier. (Please Note: The sauces are finger licking good! You will be finger licking. be prepared.) The wedges were soft and perfectly seasoned. I only wished that they were as big and thick as pictured in the business photos. Tasted and looked more like French fries. but no complaints! This place Rocks! l

I visited Super Wings as a recommendation from a friend who always raves about it on Facebook. He suggested the pineapple jerk wings, tamarind wings, spinach bites and mango salad. So I went and ordered just that. The owner greeted me and took my order. I like to see the owner of an establishment actually working in their business. She came back and told me the tamarind wings weren’t ready and suggested the ginger buff wings instead. Ok no problem. I then wanted to add zucchini bites to my order, however they weren’t ready as well. Someone else came in after me and ordered mac n cheese… and guess what that wasn’t ready either. Granted I walked in at 12:21pm, and they open at 12pm. However with such a popular business with great media coverage I just expected things to be ready upon opening because cooks would of been there before opening preparing the food. That is the only reason they lost the star. Other than that the meal was good. Will definitely try again.

For the longest, I’ve been wanting to try this place but it was out of the way. Finally, my sis, her friend and I decided to go on a doubles crawl on Nostrand. I suggested, since we were in the area, to walk here and they agreed. We arrived shortly after they opened for business. A few customers were in waiting for their lunch orders. We ordered 16 wings to split amongst ourselves, 8 Trini tamarind and 8 ginger buff. My sis and I also ordered the sorrel to drink. The wings were good. Both had a sweet and tanginess to it. Very saucy also. They also had a bit of a spice to it but I can’t remember which one was spicier(only slightly). I kept eyeing the chili cilantro flavor, next time… The sorrel, it was a bit on the sweet side for me, but I have been cutting out sugar from my diet. I ended up adding more ice to it and it was wonderful… to this day, I cannot stop thinking about it… gotta trek back to this place soon.

Not really sure I believe in the hype here. Some of the sauces tasted canned or bottled. The texture was decent and the chicken was definitely most, but I couldn’t get over the flavor of 2 of the sauces we had. Definitely had some back talking from the staff :)

I was in the area(Union & Nostrand) and decided to try Super Wings since I saw it on Food Network a year or more ago. I called in my order. It was very easy to find and not crowded at all — I arrived just after 1pm. When I arrived the owner was there! She was speaking to a few new hires and current employees. I must say that they all were very kind to one another and to me :). Okay…let’s get to the food! I ordered crispy wings, the deluxe platter, a strawberry lemonade, and the pineapple-ginger lemonade. We also has the blue cheese and lava dressings. Crispy wings — the taste was good and they were crispy… but they needed just a dash of seasoning(maybe a little salt). Out of the 10 wings I only ate two because there were so many hairs/feathers :(. I had to get rid of them :(. I would order them again if I can get them minus the hair/feathers! Deluxe Platter — this came with two sides(double potato wedges), fried whiting, shrimp, and ginger wings. Everything tasted okay… and the wings didn’t have any hair/feathers :). The best item out of everything was the lava sauce! It’s spicy and has lots of flavor! I dipped everything in it especially the shrimp :). Strawberry lemonade — needed more flavor. I couldn’t really taste the strawberry or lemonade or the sweetness :(. Maybe a little more flavor and sugar(agave or brown sugar) would do the trick ;). Pineapple ginger lemonade — my mother said that it was ok. If I’m ever in the area and return, I’ll order the ginger wings and shrimp… with the lava sauce! I may also try another flavor :). I gave three stars because the staff were very kind and friendly. Also, the food was ok. I will give them another try one day soon :).

My friend took me here and said they had the best wings in Brooklyn and sure enough the food was good. I had the mango wings with the mango salad and Spanish rice. My friend told me to get the spinach bites but I was in the mood for rice. Luckily the staff let me try one and I instantly regretted not getting them as my side they were delish! Great staff and good food will definitely be coming back when I’m in the mood for some wings

I came in today, March 13th, 2014, to order a 1lb combo. It was my first time ordering here. The woman at the counter named Brittany greeted me. Well, it wasn’t exactly a greeting. This woman had the most disgusting attitude I’ve ever encountered. Look Super Wings, you’re a black-owned business. Most black-owned businesses are crappy why? The lack of respect and customer service. This woman asked me «what do you want?» I initially greeted her with a hi. She was very disrespectful to me for absolutely no reason. I proceeded to order until she asked me «which salad do you want?» I initially did not know and instead said«the chicken salad». She rolled her eyes and stated firmly«mango, corn etc». I said«mango». I asked how much it costs and she said«$ 9.79». I didn’t hear her well and she proceeded to say with an attitude«$ 9.79». I thought I heard«$ 7.99». I ordered the 8 piece Trini Tamarind wings, with mango salad and wedges. There were no wedges, so I opted for the zucchini bites. There were no mire zucchini bites, so I opted for macaroni and cheese. The man working behind asked me to change the sides twice. Why don’t you have everything on your menu? Seriously, is it that difficult? My mother is a chef. She will have a menu and everything on the menu is there… ready to be cooked. That annoyed me. Going on, I told the woman about the deal of getting a free lemonade. She asked«where is it?» I told her that it’s on Unilocal.Anyway, when I paid, she threw the receipt on the counter and disrespectfully handed me my change with force. I was trying very hard not to curse her out. Before my food comes, she tells me to close the door that two customers left open. I didn’t, because that’s not my job. She should do that. My food came and she asked me why I was still there. Then before I spoke, she remembered about my free lemonade. She asked to see the offer. I showed it to her and she got the drink for me. Then left it on the counter for me pick up. She was very disrespectful. I am very sure that I will never come back, but if I ever did and if I ever see her rude, disrespectful ass again, I will let her have it. I’m not doing her a favor. If she doesn’t like her job, she needs to work elsewhere. She, should not be working there ATALL! I hope she sees this too. Now for the food, it’s mediocre at best. Seriously, the food should be $ 6 not almost $ 10. What a waste of money. The Trini Tamarind wings had a lot of cumin and paprika in thr sauce. Talk about overload. Next, the mac and cheese pie was eh okay. My mom makes a better mac pie. The mango salad was good but they could’ve supplemented more mango. The wings were fried and coated in the Trini Tamarind sauce. Come on… who are you fooling? You think I don’t know the difference between baked and fried chicken? The lava sauce was really good. Anyway, it was okay but not worth $ 10 to be honest. The wings were medium sized. I can buy the Perdue BBQ wings already pre cooked and the wings are much bigger, MUCH bigger. Her sauces are nothing you can’t make in your own house to be honest. It’s overrated. The people usually giving these places four or five stars are not the best cooks(no offense to those who can lol). The lemonade was way too sweet and all I drink is water, so I threw the rest of it away. It tastes like artificial lemonade powder with sugar. I tasted absolutely no ginger. Anyway, another black-owned business with poor customer service. I’m not returning and to the owner(since I know you reply to comments), fire Brittany please and when you hire someone, make sure the person is well equipped for the job. Don’t just hire a black person because. There are others with manners who can take that rude loser’s place. Overrated food. Overpriced. Not worth it. Save your money and go to Kennedy’s Fried Chicken right there on Nostrand. That’s probably where their fried wings are from and later dipped in sauce lol.
