Tasty Bites of New York

I was pleasantly surprised at how this place that I passed by for years turned out to be a new go to spot. It’s strictly take out. It’s small. It’s really clean. The food is scrumptious. Let’s just say the restaurant is «to buy for».
The food is in the back and therefore not displayed but the baked tasty junk you can’t miss. Cakes, cookies, puddings, tarts etc. are the only things in the showcase for these reasons 1. to burn your eyes 2. get your mouth watering 3. Break down and spend more money.
If you fall for the temptation you may lose some money but gain your prize.

Great ackee and saltfish with provisions the dumplings weren’t all that great. The set-​up is a bit weird u pay through a blacked out window like your buying ecstasy. Bake and salt fish was ok the fry bake was a bit greasy I usually order the roast bake but they were out of it that morning. Curry chicken dinner is great and the macaroni pie goes well with it.

They have very good fish here, never tried other menu items. It is an awkward set up where you order and then pay through a blacked out glass as if you are in a secret nightclub.
I would have given it higher marks if they had more than one piece of fish to sell. Nuh mon mi haffi hav more fish!

Food used to be better. Prices have gone up and service is down. Staff isn’t that friendly and sometimes gets the order wrong.

I love this place their desserts are delicious and there bake is delicious and I always order my fav the curry chicken, and I love their macaroni salad, Also they give you a nice sized portion mmm I’m actually gunna head there later

This place is great. Found them when my boyfriend and I ordered from a different place and were beyond disappointed. Ended up walking down the street since I always pass this place on my way home from work and ended up paying $ 20 for two large curry and jerk chickens, when I had just paid $ 40 for the same thing from the other horrible place. Tasty Bites’ food was less expensive, more delicious, and had much bigger portions. The fact that they’re a two minute walk from my apartment is also a bonus. Tasty Bites, you have turned my Midwestern, «I’ve never had Caribbean food before», blue-​eyed boyfriend into a believer. So much so that he actually went to get the food by himself! (And really… that alone is worth the five stars.) :)

The beef patties are actually really quite nice tasting unlike the typically tower isle ones most places usually sell food-​wise nothing really memorable far too often I always observe more bone than actual meat going into the containers anyway they have a Mon-​Tuesday special $ 1 patties which I am sure quite a few pattie lovers will enjoy

Jerk Chicken, Rice and Peas with Oxtail Gravy. I am in love with that order and that is the only thing I get. They lost a star for having to remind them to put Jerk Sauce and if you order without rice they only give you one slice of bread and the service could be sloooooow when the servers are in the mood but definitely worth a try.

5 stars more than deserved. This has been my low down secret location for some years now. They used to be on the opposite side of the street. The food is… «off the chain». The prices are… amazing. A huge slice of king fish $ 3 or $ 4. A meal is around $ 6. The cakes and pasty items are also mouth watering. I admit when I see people walking towards the store I Powell walk to rush to get in lol Because the girls working there are sooooooooooo slow so if even one person is a head of you, that could take a while! The place is also nicely decorated. Even though the girls are slow, they are the sweetest and most respectable to the customers. When you give people a great product and you make them feel wanted, they always come back. That’s why there is always a line here. Love this place.
