If you need a to-go cup of coffee this place is fine. I don’t love it to stay — just not a cozy coffee shop feel. The two hipster baristas wearing their flannel shirts and beanies have serious attitude. In fact, I overheard another patron saying the barista was so rude. As far as my experience, I was in the coffee shop with my 2 year old son on a Friday afternoon and they kept shooting us dirty looks and whispering among themselves. My son was simply sitting on my lap and doing nothing but talking. This is a coffee shop, not a library so people are allowed to talk. In fact, it clearly states no computers on the door so I’m pretty sure that talking is encouraged. So to the two guys who were working on 2/19, take your beanie and hipster attitude to Williamsburg and get out of kid populated Brooklyn Heights. Also just to keep things real, you work at a coffee shop. You literally have nothing to be smug about. Also, they close at 6pm not at 10pm as suggested by their Unilocal page.

Has that on-the-verge-of-hipster sort of vibe. The atmosphere is nice and the ‘chocolate cloud’ is a cookie worth trying.

This is great to come for tea, coffee, cookies, cupcakes, and panini sandwiches. This place has a very relaxed atmosphere, with a friendly staff. I love there chai tea & favored ice coffees. The red velvet cupcakes have great favor and very moist. The prices are good. About $ 4.00 for the coffee and teas, the cupcakes are around the same price. Very clean, and this location is a decent size and accommodates a good amount of people.

The Taza on Henry Street is a nice place especially compared to the Taza on Clark St. both in Brooklyn Hts. Clark St is really an uncomfortable place. No wonder they close so early. Overpriced for what it is. How about $ 1.09 for a single Orio cookie. Yikes. I bought 2 boxes of Orios for under $ 5.00 at CVS. For Henry Street location 3 stars. Mostly because it’s comfortable and private. Also a much nicer staff. Clark St. location is a joke.

I am not sure if management changed, but honestly if you want a decent latte, this is NOT the place to go. Their desserts are also underwhelming. Just all around things of nightmares.

I live in the neighborhood and have come here a few times. Food/beverages are fine, but the interaction with the staff has been awkward and unpleasant almost every time. Much prefer the friendlier, warmer staff and food/coffee at Key & Cup half a block away.

Excellent! I wish they had had more options as far as coffee goes. They had gluten-free baked goods as well as a few other gluten-free items on their menu, which made me one happy camper. Their iced mocha latte is FANTASTIC as is their gluten-free peanut butter chocolate crisp bar! The baristas were friendly and I didn’t have much of a wait because I was the only person there. Will be back, for sure!

I came here for a semi-quick breakfast before work recently, and had some of the best pancakes I’ve had in ages! The latte was nothing to write home about, but the service was good and the grub was hot. Might be best to come here on a weekday when it isn’t crowded, because I can imagine service gets pretty slow on weekends.

This is a great place to get an overpriced bland panini. The food takes a while to come but the drinks are fast. It’s a very clean place but the bathroom is kind of gross(but what bathroom isnt?) However, the people are soo so nice and it’s a great place to just sit down and chat with you friends over some organic food. I’d give it 3.5 stars but I can’t so I’ll give it a three.

I think the staff here were told to be friendlier… having been a regular customer here for over a year, suddenly there is a weird forced kindness from some of the least friendly staff. Still not genuine, but hey — at least they aren’t being mean! This isn’t my favorite spot in the neighborhood, but sometimes convenience wins out. The coffee is decent and their have a pretty substantial menu. You can get better quality elsewhere, but not a bad spot overall. Still, gotta knock my rating down because of many experiences interacting with the employees.

I was at Tazza last weekend for a meetup group. I only had tea, so I cannot comment on the food. It is on the small side, but the service is excellent.

Surprisingly, the service here was great — very prompt, friendly, and attentive, which makes me wonder that with the previous reviews whether there was a bad egg ruining it for everyone or what. There was a bit of an issue when a mom’s group came in and blocked the entrance with strollers, but even that was handled with without overt rudeness. And to be fair, the space is small and crowded. The goat cheese salad was light, and refreshing. Small, but well composed, and enough for a light lunch. Didn’t have anything from the coffee bar. It got busy, but we were not pressured to leave. If I could give it 3.5 stars, I would, but I can’t. So, 4 stars it is, because I’d like to think I’m not a jerk. And neither were the people working there.

I had stopped going here on regular basis a while ago and am now reminded why. I have gone over the last few weeks, once or twice a week with three friends to get coffee early in the morning. The staff behavior has ranged from rude to indifferent. We have now decided to take our business elsewhere. No matter which waitstaff we got they greeted us as if they needed to have their morning coffee. They answered questions with a grunt and a response that indicated they were doing us a favor by serving us.

I was walking my dog the other day and decided to pop in for a sandwich. Being a respectful dog owner I poked my head in and asked for a menu. I was abruptly told«we don’t, look on the board.» I replied: well I have a dog what should I do? Response: «Nothing, you can leave and have a nice day.» The service at this place is horrendous. Not worth my time, patience or money to support a business that doesn’t value its patrons. It’s a shame that you try and be courteous and are given nothing but disrespect and attitude. Sorry it’s a painful inconvenience to serve me or anyone else.

To be perfectly honest, I stopped in here to use the restroom because I was in the area after making a pilgrimage to Adam Yauch Park. But, I was quickly overcome with genuine interest in this nice, unpretentious coffee place/tiny wine bar/bakery/café. I know this is random, but I decided at 2 p.m. to have steel-cut oatmeal with raisins and fruit. The presentation was absolutely gorgeous — like something out of a magazine. And that too for $ 6? Who can beat that? I loved the little sign declaring that computers could not be used in the establishment till after 4. It’s little touches like this that make these kind of places so warm and inviting. I will definitely stop in the next time I am in Brooklyn Heights!

I keep spending way too much money here, probably because I am so enamored of a coffeeshop that actually lends itself to sitting and relaxing, with plenty of seating and breathing room. The pastries all look bangin’, and they have great-sounding sandwiches and quiche, but I keep attempting to be healthy and ordering things like the breakfast oatmeal: creamy steel cut oats with golden raisins and almonds, um, yeah… and the muesli: tangy yogurt, oats, and grains mixed with fruit, again, delicious and fortifying. The coffee is good too, but it seems strange to charge more for Americanos than for lattes. Anyway, in the warm weather it is delightful to sit outside, but any time of year Tazza’s ample seating can accommodate you and a few friends for a coffee date.

Their drip is a drag. I would maybe return to try an espresso drink just to drool over the pretty pastries and then sit outside to people & pooch watch.

This place has become a lunch destination for me because of its location and quiet street. The food is actually pretty good, but pricey. Still it doesn’t stop me from coming here. Outside seating is nice as well. The service is never consistent and seems like the people don’t really take their job seriously. There is one consistent theme. The glass I get ALWAYS has lipstick on it. No joke. At one point we asked for a plastic cup to circumvent the lipstick and were promptly denied with a response of «you’ll have to pay for that» I have to pay for a clean cup? I thought that was pretty standard. Still the sandwich is good and sometimes there’s a sliver of hope that I’ll get good service so…
