I decided to come to this location for my very first real Christmas tree. They had a selection of small trees(around 3 feet tall) to extravagant tall ones(around 9 – 10 feet). They also had a selection of different types and qualities so you can find what you want with your budget. When I went there, 3 people were working so I didn’t have wait around for help. The man and woman who helped me were extremely patient as I went around pointing at trees and asking to look at them. I looked at a bigger fuller tree that was of a cheaper quality(meaning more falling out of pine needles and doesn’t last as long), then a medium sized cheap one, then some smaller better quality ones. They seemed really knowledgeable and gave me good advice on how to care for my tree. In the end, I got a sturdy good quality tree(that they estimated should last until February) about 6 feet tall for $ 70 plus a $ 10 stand. The best part about this spot is that it’s 24 hours 7 days a week!

As the last review dated back to 2008, I was not sure they were still coming. But they are! Ask for Eric and if you speak French, go for it, they are all really nice guys from Canada. They are located just outside CVS. You cannot miss them!

Every year around Christmastime, the Christmas Tree Guy sets up shop in front of the Cobble Hill CVS on Court Street. He strings some light bulbs over the sidewalk and that entire side of the street gets all festive and good-smelling for a month or so. Last year we bought our tree there. We lived in Manhattan so my partner in crime had to haul the tree down to Borough Hall and take it across the river on the 2. He says lots of people laughed at him, but it was worth it ’cause the tree – all three feet of it that would fit in our tiny apartment window – rocked. Who cares about those heathens on the subway? Christmas trees are serious business. This year we live in Cobble Hill, like six blocks from the Christmas Tree Guy, and our tree is even better. We bought it about three weeks ago and it hasn’t dropped more than two or three needles, and it smells amazing. Actually, it’s one of the prettiest trees I’ve ever seen. It’s cartoonishly perfect, a completely symmetrical isosceles triangle sitting in our living room. It kind of looks fake, now that I think about it. Oh well. Anyway, the prices are reasonable and the Christmas Tree Guy is totally open to a little friendly haggling. See if you can get him to throw in a free stand if you go for the slightly pricier tree. It’s worth it.
