Great selection on housewares, gift accessories and school/office supplies. They do carry food items at cheap prices, however do check the expiration date on items. Good place to get last minute gifts as well.

If you see something you want, grab it on the spot. Because tomorrow it will be gone. They have a few bargains, but you have to grab and keep going.

I was in the area for the Brooklyn Book Festival earlier this year. I liked some of the cheap office supplies like a box of 7 – 11 brand paper clips for 29 cents. The store could use some cleanup and be better organized.

This store reminds me of a Conway except without clothes. Cheap housewares, shampoo/soaps, toys, holiday decorations. I was extra excited to see the large«party» selection of cheap disposable cups and plates and tablecloths. It’s definitely not quality stuff but you would know what to expect when coming here.

This place is crowded and sells cheap crap. It looks good until you get it home and it breaks. The store is way to narrow and crowded. It needs to be better organized. The lines are too long however; the staff are friendly. Buyer beware.

Someone here put it nicely before. Crappy store with beautiful bargains. It is true… sometimes. My mom works next door to this store so she is a frequent visitor there. She has been able to score German sweets and cookies for under a dollar. On the other hand, your regular American Hershey’s Pot of Gold which is about to expire can often be purchased cheaper and fresher at your Duane Reade/CVS. I feel that Closeout tends to price things cheaply if they have no idea how much they should cost. It’s a disorganized store but you can also find great deals on home décor and soaps/shampoos. Check it out.

I go by the Closeout Connection to get wrapping paper and last minute holiday items. Cons: They don’t sell fresh food, they also do not carry a wide selection of items. And, yes it is dirty and disorganized. Pros: What they do carry is very inexpensive. I get gift bags for $ 0.99 and gift paper from $ 0.99 — $ 1.99. I can’t get too down on the store, as they provide a «flea market» environment where I go in to try to grab something last minute.

On my 2nd trip ever to Closeout Connections, I emerged with a giant grocery bag stocked with 10 bags Goldbaum’s Gluten-Free(Kosher too!) Crispini rice crackers. This in addition to the 10 bags I’d bought on the 1st visit. Had I had them before? Um… nope. But I’m a rice-cracka-luvah and knew they’d go down well. At 69c a pop I couldn’t go wrong. But yes, I’ve joined the ranks of little old ladies who scrummage thru CC for loot. A few of them even asked me if those cracker things were any good. On a whim I also picked up a $ 3 color-changing disco nightlight so now I can boogie in my undies while eating rice crackers at home.

Great place to buy brand name soap and shampoo, as well as kitchen stuff(foil, dishwashing soap, that kind of stuff) and picture frames, mugs & glasses, hair accessories, and kitchen platters. Their candy and snack selection is random. They also sell some cheap electronics behind the register. All in all, you’ll always find a good deal at The Closeout Connection. Extra star for having a bag check, so you don’t have to lug your bags around the store. I hate that.

I’ve traveled great distances/done shameful things/outrun old women at the supermarket(disclaimer: this only happened once — and it was for the last box of half-price chopped spinach in the freezer, which I NEEDED for a recipe) for amazing deals, so it’s not shocking that even though Closeout Connection is dirty and disorganized and filled with disgrunted shoppers, I, well, like it. I like it because it’s full of good deals. This shouldn’t be your go-to-spot for electronics(which they DO sell) or birthday presents for your family, but if you’re looking for cheap dishes or party decorations, then you’re in the right place. You can find napkins, paper plates, giftwrap, candles, notecards, office supplies, kitchen gadgets, and toys here for a steal. During the holidays, I saw people buying inflatable, life-size Mrs. Santas by the dozens(you think I’m kidding, but I’m not). Bottom line: Crappy store with beautiful bargains.
