Went here for the Brooklyn Pig Roast event on 5⁄13. This is a great, expansive space right off the L train in WIlliamsburg. We saw Bro Jo’s Full Moon Swamp Revue, which I thoroughly enjoyed. It’s a great place to go with a big group! My thoughts– we sat in the row of tables 2nd from the stage. If you’re just there for the show, it’s great. However, we found the music a little too loud to carry on even a casual conversation… so next time I might sit a bit further back. Everyone enjoyed the beer selection and liquors better than the mixed drinks(the Hurricane really wasn’t a Hurricane). The food drew mixed reviews… I really enjoyed the pork sliders, and those that had the large«plates» enjoyed them, but my fiancé didn’t really care for the pork mac and cheese. I can’t wait to see what other events this place puts on, we’ll be back.

A poor man’s city winery. 6 people stuffed into a four top. I went to see Del McCoury & David Grisman for a 7:00 set on a Saturday. We arrived at 6:00 to ensure enough time for dinner. Food was excellent, no complaints there. They just need to decide if they want to be a restaurant or a music venue. Listening to a bus boy yell out food orders while I try to hear a performer is not my idea of a good time.

Saw a comedy show here(The Tenderloins) on a Tuesday night. The show was at 7PM, doors at 6PM. Show up at 6PM or earlier if you want a good seat! The left side is the restaurant and the right side is the Hall where shows are. In the Hall, there were a bunch of crowded tables and a row of tables by the cushioned seats along the wall that are great for small parties like couples. It’s also good to show up early if you want to order drinks or food, which can take a while considering the huge influx of orders over one hour. My friends showed up around 6PM and we got a table about 1⁄3 back. By the time I arrived around 6:30PM, there were only a couple tables in the very back! The drinks are not strong at all but their burger with gruyère was very good. There are not many options for vegetarians though so if you are one, you may want to think about getting food beforehand. my friend could only choose from the hummus or vegan platter.

Thanks to Goldstar , we had one COMP ticket and one discounted Crawfish platter ticket for the New Orleans Mardi Gras Crawfish Boil Series. Music was fine, food was fine, but service was severely lacking(didn’t show up for 15 minutes, and then 5 minutes after we asked at the front to have someone finally come greet us, at which point they demanded a credit card for an authorization they refused to explain, and returned the card face up mid meal).

This venue is very unorganized. The«VIP» seating are low booths to the side of the venue in which your view is easily obstructed when general admission stands in front of this section. It sucks that you pay extras for this seating but aren’t able to see anything. The sound quality was awful. It seemed like the speakers couldn’t handle it. Also the bartenders gave us bottles of beer but we were asked to return to the bar to get a plastic cup for our beers. Mostly everything I could get past but the sound quality was so awful, it’s almost unbearable. If you’re a music venue you need to at least get that part right… All in all if you bite the bullet and come here to see a band you’ve been waiting to see just don’t waste your money buying reserved seating.

Went here for a comedy show. We arrived when show was suppose to start and missed out on good seats, so we had to sit in the bar area. Tried the calamari and they were yummy. Bartender did a great job making sure we were okay. Great experience. Parking was super easy !

I’ve been at the Hall to see many bands over the past few months. Overall, I enjoy the vibe. I’ve seen shows that were fully seated, some had only standing space and others had a mix of both, so it definitely changes depending on the show. If you are hungry, the food is delicious. I’ve gone early and ate next door at the Tavern. This is a great addition to the neighborhood.

We came here for a Mardi Gras event. It was fun, and the mixed drinks were good, as was the crawfish. There are a few kinks they need to work out: –The bathroom layout is horrible. The stall doors open and leave absolutely no room to walk by. They also don’t all open the same way — some to the left and some to the right. It is impossible to not to hit someone while going in and out. –The food service was totally disorganized. We were brought someone else’s food three times, no joke. We were honest and told someone each time, but it was an ordeal to flag someone down. The food runner didn’t speak English so we had to find another staff member after he didn’t seem to understand that we were trying to give the food back. –The acoustics are not good. I am sure as time goes on, the management will figure it out.

This was a really disappointing place. We attended the Crawfish Boil and we paid for the full package and we didn’t get any food and had to wait at the bar. We spoke with the owner and even he was angry as the host of this event massively oversold the event. I want my money back for this event.

I was there last night with some girlfriends. The Crawfish Boil event was very chaotic to say the least. If we hadn’t gotten there at 6pm, the five of us wouldn’t have gotten seats. While my friend who pre-ordered her crawfish boil got her meal in reasonable time, my shrimp and grits came about an hour later after pleading with waitress and busboys. Throngs of people were waiting for seats, and it became quickly apparent that this event was not well-managed and the organizers oversold the event. When my friend got her crawfish boil, she complained it was way too spicy to be edible. The waitress tried to help by bringing her a glass of milk and under the circumstances the waitress did the best she could. When I finally received my order, I was disappointed there were four large shrimps on top a mound of grits. The shrimps were tasty, but it was lukewarm and overpriced for the $ 18 they charged for the plate. The acoustics was not good at this venue. The only two positives was the music provided by Black Tie Brass and the drinks that we paid for that came pretty fast since we were the first to arrive. I would think twice about coming back to this venue for any event in the future.

Paid for event tickets that included cover charge and a meal. The place was severely over booked and there was absolutely no space to eat, not that it mattered since they ran out of food anyway. If you want to go here, go super early or don’t bother. They’re not equipped to handle dinner and concerts simultaneously. We also waited half an hour for drink service at the bar until they shut down happy hour in our faces and refused to honor the fact we waited CALMLY for 20 minutes for their attention. I’m never going back here again.

We came for the New Orleans crawfish boil and unfortunately we were incredibly disappointed. The space could be great with the live music but we were unable to get a table for food(which we prepaid for). The bartenders were very nice but it took entirely too long to get drinks. We ended up standing at a table but could not eat. In theory this place is great(I love MP Taverna) but we were super disappointed. Many kinks to work out but hoping they can get it together because it could be a great experience.

Attended Nth Power and Dopapod show( ) and was very very disappointed. Long story short, first and last time going to this venue as it is a terrible setup and poorly run. For those that want the details continue to read: GOOD: — convenient location near Bedford L stop — getting some good bands playing BAD Summary: — inefficiently run — stage not elevated enough, can’t see band — poor bathroom location — terrible bathroom layout — unattentive and slow bartenders — poor sound quality BAD Details: — Took at least 15 minutes standing in line outside to get into the venue. Extremely poorly managed. One person checking and IDs and one person putting wrist bands on people. The bottleneck appeared to be the wrist bands and even though there were other staff members around that could have helped with that, they did not put more people on the task to help get folks through quicker. Many people were left cold and also missed a good portion of Nth Power due to it. — The main bartenders were very slow and were also ignoring certain parts of the bar. We saw multiple people get served next to us, because they simply looked up right in front of them all the time. The manager was trying to help out, but just worked the corner instead of giving better instruction to the staff to make everything more efficient. Lots of time spent with the bartenders waiting on cash, a POS, or thinking about what to do instead of serving drinks. — The stage while elevated, was not nearly elevated enough so it was very hard to see the band. — The bathrooms were up on the left side of the stage which made it difficult to get to them and interrupted folks standing in that area trying to enjoy the show. The mens bathroom had an attendant(no idea why for that kind of venue) and the layout in the bathroom was terrible, people were bumping into each other and it was very very awkward. — The sound was terrible. The PA system is very small with hardly any bass and low end. Additionally the sound system was turned up way too loud for the space and for what the speakers were capable of. Could definitely hear the distortion and disproportion of vocals to some of the instruments. As a person who sees live music 3 or 4 nights a week, I’m seen good and bad venues and unfortunately for a show I was very much looking forward to, this venue made it a much less positive experience than it could have been.

Overview: 4 of us went here last night to see Kermit Ruffins play. Kermit was great(as always) and the venue was beautiful, with terrific sound and delicious food. There were a couple of glitches — I tried for 1.5 hours to get a drink but, despite reminding the waitress over-and-over about my drink order(seriously, about 5 or 6 times), my drink never came. Also, it was difficult to get her attention and she charged us not once, but twice, for the drink she never gave me. Having said that, the manager handled the issues courteously and resolved things well and graciously. The venue: I thought it was a beautiful venue — they kept what looked like the old brick wall and a giant, beautiful, sliding, industrial-style door(near the restrooms) while also adding modern design touches to make the place look sophisticated and chic, in a Brooklyn way. The crowd: It was a 30’s-60’s crowd(with most of the people I saw in the 40’s-60’s age range) which was a little surprising considering the place is in Williamsburg(but I guess Williamsburg skews older/richer these days) and considering Kermit draws people of all ages. It might be the fact that the audience was seated for this event and the prices might be a little higher than the norm. The food: My friends had the gumbo and loved it(but they are Danes and have never eaten gumbo before so take their opinion with a grain of salt). I only had an appetizer plate but I have to say, it was the best hummus I’ve ever tasted in my life. I didn’t love the grape leaves that came with it, but I’ve never been a huge fan, so you should take that with a grain of salt, as well. The glitches: I had texted my friends that I was stuck in traffic in a cab, so they ordered before I arrived. When I got there/seated, I tried to get our waitress’ attention which took me awhile since she never came anywhere near our table, even though it was only about 10 ft from the waitstaff ordering station. I was pretty patient about it for awhile, but then I feared I would not be able to get food or drink before the show was over if I didn’t catch her soon so I finally made a long, strenuous effort(which took my attention away both from my friends from Denmark who I hadn’t seen in 4 years, and the performance) and got her to come over. I ordered a Stoli and soda and asked for a menu. I waited a long time and finally got her to come back with a menu. Then I had to wait more until she came back awhile later to take my food order. While she was there, I reminded her about my order for a Stoli and soda. My food took a long time to come out and when it did, I asked the person who delivered the food(the deliverer was not my waitress) to remind the waitress that I was still waiting for my drink. He said he would get my waitress but she did not come over. This went on for an hour-and-a-half — me trying to catch my waitress, then reminding her about my drink order, then she would never bring it. This happened about 5 or 6 times. At the end of the night, she dropped off the bill with not one but TWOSEPARATECHARGES for the ONE drink I ordered, but which she never delivered(and I never received). When I pointed out the mistakes on the bill to her and reminded her that she never brought my drink, she frantically looked at the table hoping to see the drink glass there — as if it magically transported itself from the bar. We had already waited until most people had left the venue to get the first bill and now we were going to have to wait again as the entire waitstaff crowded around the 2 ordering terminals and our waitress was last in line. [Note to management: You need more ordering terminals.] When she finally came back, she only gave us the new total but did not give us the new itemized bill. So I asked her for the itemized bill and she seemed surprised by that and said, «I took the 2 drinks off»…as if I should trust her to be detail-oriented after my experience with her, without my seeing the back-up documentation. After everything that transpired, I wanted to be sure I was not going to pay for a drink I never received(and I certainly wasn’t going to pay double!). Anyway, I had a conversation with the manager. I was calm and polite and told him what happened in a straightforward manner. I was also fair and told him that our waitress had been nice, if not on top of things. He apologized and explained that the waitstaff was new and young and it was their first time doing a sit-down event at the venue. He was polite and went above-and-beyond in his offer to make things right which I/we appreciated(though, unfortunately, we couldn’t take him up on his entire offer because we had to leave for a previously scheduled engagement). Despite the glitches, I will still give this place 4 stars — for the positives things stated above — space, beauty, food, sound, artists, etc. You’re going to get glitches anywhere. How management handles glitches is what matters.

What a great addition to Williamsburg. The décor is beautiful, staff is friendly and the food is superb. I went on a night when they were offering their special New Orleans menu, in addition to their regular items — great shrimp and grits. Simply put, a wonderful place to see a show!

Came here to check out someone’s band. Looks like a pretty new venue, and it was huge. There’s an outstanding battery of taps pouring erudite local and foreign brews. Acoustics were good and there was plenty of space to dance or just rock gently side to side(hipster dancing). It was a little awkward to get to the bar with the crowd concentrated all around it and tables abutting the whole bar area, but we made it work. Not sure what the food offerings are but it’s definitely a promising event space for live music.

Saw a practically private set from Fife and Drom here since there was a total of 10 patrons in this massive space. Fantastic band with excellent blues covers and originals. Anyways, this review is about the space. They still have some kinks to work out but I love this place. They haven’t decided on the food selection yet — my vote is to serve the small plates from the regular MP Taverna next door instead of creating a unique menu. Or just serve the whipped feta and call it a night. However, they have a HUGE draft list with some great selections. The cocktails we tried were great but skip the overly sweet Mothers Little Helper. I hope this place gets some traction and succeeds. It’s too large to be a local No Cover bar.

HOLYSHITITISLOUD. I know it’s a brand new venue, & there are kinks to work out. But is it a place to eat or go to a show? It’s a confusing vibe. Either make it a music venue and get rid of the tables and cloth napkins, or turn the entertainment down so people can actually talk to each other while they eat. I live in the area & would love to see a new spot succeed. But OMG — please — no one wants a guy screeching on a trumpet wandering around the tables. It was so awkward. I’d suggest skipping the white sangria and take advantage of the beer menu instead. The girl on the sidewalk trying to wrangle in patrons was very friendly, & I wish them luck. And auditory health.
