Cary was so wonderful to work with… her amazing design sense made the process effortless and enjoyable and our wedding flowers were gorgeous! Thanks Cary!!!

This is my second time using this establishment. Both have been a genuinely good experience. The thing is they’re really close to where my mom lives in Brooklyn and I like giving a local shop a crack at my business rather than the commercial guys. I’m not much of a flower snob but did ask for a nice full arrangement that wouldn’t look to cheesy/small. I believe they accomplished this within my budget. It was a simple arrangement that kind of fit the bill. It was smaller than expected, but was tasteful. Strangely enough they did a better job last time with their arrangement. Overall I was satisfied just had higher expectations from my last experience.

Cary did the flowers for our wedding in December. Our needs were minimal(only 10 people) and Cary was flexible working with our small scale and budget. She did a great job of taking my half-formed ideas and creating an absolutely gorgeous bouquet and accompanying boutonnieres and corsages. I was very happy with the results and working with her was an overall pleasure.

I met Cary at an open house for the Green building and she seemed really sweet and I really liked her simple garden style. I needed flowers for my May wedding so I emailed her and told her about my budget of $ 3,000 and asked if she could work with me. She said yes and we set up an appointment at her studio all the way in Greenpoint(I live in Manhattan so it was quite the trek on a sunday). I have a very specific style of flowers that I wanted and when we met I brought pictures and ideas to show her. She was very nice and offered a couple suggestions. We spoke for about an hr and I was happy that she could work with me on my wedding. She promised to send me a proposal. I received the proposal the following week and was shocked to see that it was for more than double my budget. When we spoke she said that the budget might inch up a bit and I said that was fine but certainly I didn’t expect it to be more than double. I reached out asking why it was so high considering our conversation and also wanted to know how many of each type of flower that I liked she was using my centerpieces(which I think is a perfectly reasonable question, is it 20 stems or is it 100 stems?!), I have a good sense for flowers and a general idea for pricing, having worked on several weddings and a general love and interest for flowers. I followed up with her several times and never heard back! This really upset me because I spent a lot of time travelling to see her, putting together a plan and folder of items I wanted(which I left with her!), filling out her questionnaire and following up and it seems rude and unprofessional to not respond. I feel that if she was unable to work within my budget the honest and professional thing to do would have been to simply let me know, but she couldn’t even do that. She has a nice style from what I could tell which definitely attracted me and I was looking forward to working with her after our initial meeting, but at this point I wouldn’t want to work with someone who can’t be polite and honest with her clients.

I worked with Cary on a flower crown for my anniversary party and had such an amazing experience. Cary was able work within my budget, accommodate my schedule and create a piece that was truly beautiful. The crown used off-white roses with small touches to greenery to keep it from looking too precious. It perfectly suited my dress, lasted all night and everyone absolutely loved it. The Little Glass Slipper is a treasure that is well worth discovering. Thank you Cary!

The delivery lady called me several times and asked me to come out of the office and pick up the flowers I ordered for my mother from a running truck outside. After I declined, pointing out that I had paid for service, I found her yelling obscenities at the people running the mail room. I’ve never been more mortified. Not only that, she wouldn’t listen to what I had to say, snatched the pen out of my hand before I could sign and called us all«stupid» before making her way out the door, saying we had cost her money. The flowers are beautiful. But the air around it is spoiled. **AMENDMENT5÷28÷14 Cary the owner of The Little Glass Slipper reached out with an apology and a discount for the next time. My mother loved the arrangement. I’d give it another shot, probably for a home delivery instead.

I live in LA and it was very important to me to have flowers delivered someone in Brooklyn on a Tuesday. I remembered this around dinnertime on Monday, but this place is closed on Mondays, so I emailed them through their website. Cary emailed me back, even though it was nighttime and they were closed that day, assuring me that they could make a Brooklyn delivery on Tuesday. When I called Tuesday morning, Cary was lovely and assured me my flowers would be delivered that day, but when she called the recipient’s office to arrange delivery, she found out that he wouldn’t be in the office that day but at home in Manhattan. Cary, knowing how important it was for me to have the flowers delivered that day, emailed me and called me twice to try to tell me that the recipient was going to be in Manhattan all day and that she could arrange delivery to him that day for a small surcharge and to ask if that was ok. I called her as soon as I got her messages and she made it all happen. And then I called her 3 other times to confirm address, change the message on the card, etc… because I’m kinda neurotic. She was lovely, helpful and patient through everything and it all paid off. The recipient loved the flowers and they brightened a very sad day for him. Thank you, Cary!

Cary’s little jewelbox of a flower shop on Franklin Street in Greenpoint is such a gift to find. Her taste is impeccable; while she has roses and lilies, they are by far not the featured stars here. Her succulents and epiphytes hang and perch from driftwood and ceramic hand thrown pots in unsuspected corners. A large table in the center of the shop features hypericum, pomegranates on the vine, and a little yellow spiky puffball whose name I can’t recall. If Beatrix Potter had a florist, Cary would be the one. She has created a uniquely wonderful space with a delicate and masterful touch with her botanicals. The displays change as fast as you turn around, so revisit often.

Its Valentines day again… Mad rush for flowers. Before I came to The little glass slipper, I called all over BK&LIC/Astoria for Anemone’s(My wife’s favorite), no one had them! But she said she could have them for me by the 14th(the next day), I literally called a dozen florists on my route from the Upper Eastside, Astoria/LIC and BK! Everyone’s prices were around the same for a dozen long stem roses $ 60 – 70. A few places in Williamsburg were asking for $ 90-$ 125! Ridiculous! They are not a storefront Florist, they’re actually in a loft space in an industrial building on Greenpoint Ave. You have to call so they can come down and bring you upstairs. It’s on the 2nd floor with a few turns. Would not be able to find this place on my own. I was looking to get 2 bouquets one that day and to pick up the anemone arrangement the next day. She was super nice and willing to work with my budget, even cut me a great deal since I was getting 2 arrangements! The roses were great and the 2nd bouquet I picked up the next day was pretty nice! She even added the ranunculus(another flower my wife loves) last minute when I finally remembered as I came to pick them up! The wife loved them both, especially how they were not like your typical overdone bouquets with tacky fillers. They were simple and refined with great quality flowers! Great place, but what do I really know about flowers?! Haha
