The Speech Garden

I can’t recommend Christine and the Speech Garden highly enough. I was hesitant to bring my son to a speech therapist as I thought there was no way he’d stay in a room alone with a new person and practice letter sounds. But it turns out I was wrong. He loves his visits with Christine and always comes away with games and activities to play in order to practice what he learned. I hear him when he’s playing practicing saying word sounds over and over. His speech has become noticeably clearer and his confidence has increased with his new found language skills.
Christine is the not only a kind and thoughtful teacher with a warmth and sense of humor that makes it fun for the child but she is also extremely professional, always on time and always full of suggestions for extending the learning at home.
I highly recommend the Speech Garden.

Christine Genna is professional, talented, knowledgable, and dynamic. She got our recalcitrant then-​5 year old to have fun with speech therapy, despite his unmitigated determination to protest it. When they first started together, Christine held their sessions out in our garden, because that is where our son liked to play after school and wanted to be. She adapted their exercises to revolve around his gardening projects. When he started seeing her in her own place, she arranged for them to spend time in the adjacent community garden in order to engage his interest, which totally worked. She has been communicative with us parents and so easy to work with. The best part is the progress our son has made during his time with Christine. We’ve seen tremendous improvement in his speech and couldn’t be happier. We recommend Christine without hesitation!

Christine was referred to us in June and almost immediately we saw an improvement in our sons speech. Our son can be very shy but the sessions are engaging & fun, so instead of feeling intimidated, he really looks forward to them. Christine has continuously worked with our busy schedules & always takes the time to make sure we are aware of the techniques she is using so we can continue to reinforce them at home.
