This is reviewing their thai food only. My uncle and I came here not once, but twice in a week to eat thai food. I was really impressed with the pad Thai and loved that they didn’t add much sugar or any red dye to the dish. There was a nice peanut flavor and they gave a huge portion! The Tom kha and Tom yum soup are great here, but be aware that the Tom yum soup is made with shrimp automatically. My uncle is allergic to shrimp so each time we ordered we had the waiter omit it from the dish. Aside from phenomenal thai food, the owner and his family are honest, kind people. I left my wallet there and when I came back later for it they had found it and kept it safe and sound. Nothing was missing and they had me check after they gave it to me! Everytime I visit new york, I will wholeheartedly support this restaurant. I highly recommend it to anyone craving thai in the area!

Avoid at all cost. Terrible food, terrible sushi, and terrible service. I can write a whole list of bad things here, and not one good. Save your money and go else where please. Have to run to the drug store to get pepto, stomach is churning. :((

Same old sushi. This place has all you can eat, but it’s really not same quality if you ordered from the menu. My friends ended up getting the all you can eat and we’re waiting forever for their food to come out. Seems like if you get all you can eat, they just don’t give a crap about you. You will wait until all the food is ready for people that actually order from the menu. Even from the menu it was nothing special. If you can go somewhere else, do that, otherwise this place satisfy your hunger but you won’t be as happy if you went elsewhere.

This review is for delivery. I ordered on seamless. It was pretty seamless. The order came in 30 minutes or so. To my surprise the delivery man was a relatively young woman! I’ve never seen a woman deliver anything around these parts. Anyways, the food was good. Part of the order was Alaskan roll and the avocado was so creamy and delish I couldn’t ask for anything more. Then I also had the white tuna. Omg… SO good!!! It was like buttah! I scarfed everything down so, no pictures. Sorry forgot. Was hungry. Oh well…

Never. never in my life had i experienced bad sushi like this in my life. I had ordered a roll that consisted of salmon which didn’t taste fresh or anywhere near edible quality. I am a sushi lover. I def. know what was fresh or not but being stupid and hungry i decided to eat it. a couple hours later. oh dear… it didnt look so good… My stomach hurt like crazy and spent a couple hours in the bathroom. I dont think i will visit again for the sushi… Also…a sushi shop that also sells thai food… hm kinda weird. Staff was really friendly and service was quick… This deserve 2 stars which i give for service while 0 for food. If you want trustworthy sushi, try looking some place else.

Alright listen, I don’t know much about their sushi(which seems to disappoint everyone), but their Thai food kicks ass. I’m a huge fan of Thai, and have been all over the city and Queens for a well-prepared Pad Thai or Panang Curry. This place is on par with the taste you’ll find in places like Sea Williamsburg, Spice, or Thainy. I stumbled upon it and had no expectations for the taste, but I’m so glad I found this gem hidden inside a sub-par sushi restaurant. If you’re craving Thai food and don’t want to make that hour-long commute to the city, definitely pay a visit to Tokyo Sushi House. Honorable mention: Service was very attentive and went out of their way for us.

20 per person all you can eat sushi is a tremendous deal in NYC. You can’t share and taking home what you can’t finish will be charged as regular price for sushis but those are reasonable policies for a great deal.

I always get Alaskan and Philadelphia rolls from here. They are the best, didn’t try anything else though. The place is very cozy. There is a buffet available which I have never had time to make to. For 15 $ all you can eat buffet which I think a great chance to try everything you think you didn’t try in Japanese cuisine. Friendly stuff, nice atmosphere and not crowded.

came here for dinner not too long ago. the sushi was eh ok, nothing to write about. the portions were typical and the memorable item was actually the salmon pizza. that was interesting and i find myself actually craving it sometimes but haven’t been back yet!

Ohhh man, its sad that I have to stab this place along with other people. I guess my bad experience isn’t an isolated one, that’s sad. Onto the review FIRST off this is in Brooklyn, one of the few places in the world that you could get rolls for 2.50… they’re not 2.50 here. Secondly the service is poor, messed up our orders twice and insisted it was our fault, it was slow too, and we were the only ones there. Now here’s the kicker I found a pot scrubber in my noodles. Well a pot scrubber piece but the fact that such an object even made it in there is bad. The sushi from what I can tell is also very sub par. Tokyo you may be one of the best places in Japan, but not here buddy, not here.

Please save your money and go somewhere else. The sushi took more than 30 minutes to come out when we were the only group in the restaurant. They forgot half the orders we placed on the all you can eat menu and were told just to fill out another sheet. Ended up in the restaurant for 2 hours. Ridiculous! Avoid this sushi restaurant!

I would only come here for the salmon. Basically, the salmon is delicious(very smooth and melts in your mouth), but the rest of the fish that I tried(eel, yellowtail) was very bad quality. Especially the eel, which was soggy. Don’t order the eel avocado: they’ll give you a roll with mostly avocado and a tiny, tiny bit of eel, which doesn’t even taste good. Otherwise, the presentation was pretty good and the prices are cheap. Again, I would *only* come here for the salmon(and maybe tuna too, but I haven’t tried that here).

Not an acceptable sushi place by my standards. Philadelphia roll came with lox and not salmon sushi. Terrible short cut to save money. The fish itself was not outstanding and mediocre at best. I asked for hot tea twice and was served luke warm tea twice. At that point I had to make some noise. At the end I was hoping to end my dinner with some green tea ice cream. Of course they were out. You can pay $ 20 for all you can eat. Their menu isn’t really clear on what is in the roll, how many pieces belong with each order etc. The place is clean and taken care of. There were quite a few employees just sitting around chatting and watching us eat. I will not be coming back here and I recommend you find an alternative.

A good quick place for some sushi on my walk home from the train. It’s a but pricey compared to other restaurants in the are but the food is decent. Not amazing but decent.

I’ve been here 2 times before and was very pleased. Today I Went here with 4 of my friends and ordered the 19.99 all you can eat. We ordered a bunch of entrees. After 1 hour we got 1 salad, 1 plate of sushi and 1 plate of sweet potato rolls. First of all we didn’t order the salad but we took it because it was All you can eat. After waiting an hour and nothing came from the kitchen we decided to leave, so we told them we’d pay for what we ate… they charged us full menu price totalling almost $ 30! I told them we waited so long that we should be discounted. they didn’t. We came to realize they charged us for an extra sushi. Very dissapointing.

I am probably being generous with 2 stars but I only ordered take out but boy was it bad. Chicken katsu that was stringy? And awful to chew. California roll that had a perceptible odor as if it was prepared well in advance and stored. Lunch was inexpensive but I would never return. Also note that they have 3 different menus with different names. Odd. Hayashi ya is the menu I ordered from but all the same dingy restaurant.

I come here whenever I am lazy to go to Sheepshead Bay. The few times I have come back, it was fine. There was probably another change in management since my last review because of the expansion of the menu. I order my usual favorite rolls I’d get from other places I go, and they’re fine. My experience with this place has improved, but hasn’t yet earned a favorite. 12/30/2013 — Another change in management? Or maybe. Just new workers again? It seems that each time I come here, there are different people. Well, on the other hand, they seem to be doing all you can eat again, or maybe I just never took notice that they were still doing it. The food is still average. Not the tastiest, but fair and decent. Décor and interior is relatively the same as back then. The menu seemed to have expanded.

No idea how this place got 3 stars. If you live in the area, then you know there is no shortage of sushi joints… I mean, seriosusly, there’s TONS of them around the neighborhood. How Tokyo stays open is mind boggling. The food is terrible. The sushi is not very fresh, and the bit food is just sub par. I’ve eaten there twice, the first time was bad, but I make it a practice to give places a second shot in case the first time was just a bad night… but the second time was even worse. They recently got a C rating which just proves what I already knew. I will not be back… even in a pinch. I’d rather eat canned ravioli(blah).

We visited this place for dinner on Saturday. We were in the mood for sushi and were not quite sure of what options were available in the area. Coming upon this place at the intersection of Ocean Ave and Ave U, we decided to give it a try. It was easy to get a seat and the menu looked pretty typical. The environment was pretty clean and well lit. When we were ready to order, we were able to find a waitress easily to place our order. We had a squid dish and a fried crab dish as appetizers. The squid seemed a little chewy for me but wonder if that was on purpose. The fried crab dish reminded me of a chicken wing and I did not taste the crab meat even though I can see it under the fried layer. For the main portion of the meal, I had a chicken item whose name escapes me at the moment. It was pretty decent with a good balance between the mushroom and the tofu. I wasn’t a big fan of the translucent angel hair though. On the negatives, a hot tea we ordered never came. The small steel dishes seemingly meant for soy sauce also seemed very un-Japanese like.

Went here for the all you can eat option on the recommendation of a friend. It was $ 20 a person for dinner and that is a great value. I ordered the: Miso soup — good — but I’d be amazed if they can screw that up Eggplant MIso — Blah! Stir Fry Udon w/shrimp — Huge portion tasted fine Shumai — tasted like it had freezer burn — super rubbery texture Sushi — I tried to stick to their special rolls and most everything was deep fried or had some sort of fried element to it. Now i like a little crunch and fry but this was super hard and not tasty. Out of 6 rolls I probably liked 2, and the sushi(i ordered salmon, ikura, and white tuna) itself was not top quality. Like all places they charge you for what you don’t finish but the cost was worth not suffering through eating it anymore. It rubbed me the wrong was so much that I have decided to take a break from sushi all together for a little while.
