I absolutely adore the people who work(own?) Tony’s. Real sweet mom n’ pop type of vibe. The prices are cheap but the small selection is completely random. Tony’s is kinda the bodega of hardware stores: a tiny, baffling selection of what is sold at a large legitmate hardware store but is invaluable because of its convient location and endearing staff. It may not have everything you need, but Tony’s will have 90% of it. Help support local business and drop in here before hitting up a large chain store. Oh, but unlike a bodega be aware that the hours are limited. Generally closed after 5 and not open on sunday.

Don’t let the name and store front fool you, this Mom & Pop styled shop is my go-to. If you need simple items like painting supplies, bolts, lightbulbs, extension chords, etc, skip Oriental Lumber and go here. Everything is cheap and the owner is the nicest most helpful guy around. My recent purchase include: 1x paint roller, 1x painters tape, 1×4-pack of lightbulbs, 2 mason jars and a 50ft telephone chord, all for about $ 10.00. You can’t beat that.
