Tyril Frith Canine Academy

Tyril recently worked with our dog, Sophie, a rescue with severe separation anxiety issues. Sophie is almost 5 years old so we weren’t sure if training could be effective.
Within the first hour of working with Tyril we saw immediate, verifiable proof of improvement. Not only that, Tyril was communicative, open-​minded, and focused on achieving the goals we were interested in — the complete opposite of more expensive, dogmatic know-​it-​all trainers we’ve encountered in the past.
Tyril puts you and your dog first. Although he’s actively working with you and your dog, during training sessions he is not the center of attention. He works to associate your dog’s behavior modification with you, so the lessons stick even when he is not around. It’s been over 3 months since our last training sessions and all of the training methods we learned are still effective.
I would (and have) recommended him to others considering investing in training for their dog. If your dog needs behavioral modification, look no further.

Our trainer, Raymond, is a consummate professional. My dog, Martin, was adopted from a shelter and inherited a number of phobias (including traffic, buses, motorcycles, etc.). As you can imagine, these phobias made it very difficult to walk Martin on the streets of Brooklyn. Thanks to Raymond’s effective (and fun) training, Martin is now much, much better (and can safely be off leash, which is a HUGE improvement). I highly recommend Raymond!

our trainer, raymond, was nothing short of extraordinary. when we moved to a 3^rd floor walkup, our chihuahua, sancho, refused to climb the stairs. but with raymond’s patient help sancho was able to climb the stairs with ease. now he follows us up and down the stairs as if he never had any trouble with them at all. raymond was very kind and very helpful, and always very professional. we feel we were very lucky to have found him.

When I adopted my pup Notee, he had already completed Tyril’s canine academy training camp for puppies. The only thing Tyril had to do was train me! And he did.
I can’t say enough great things about Tyril and his partner Raymond. As a result of our time and training together, I learned how to understand my canine companion and reinforce the training he had received.
Love and patience goes a long way and today, Notte, a Pyrenean Mountain Dog who weighs in at 130 pounds, wants to meet and give paw to everyone he meets, and is the best doggie friend any girl could ask for.

It is amazing how quickly our two dogs responded to the Academy’s training! Our older dog (7 years old) is generally good but needed a refresher in the basics and also needed to be reminded we were the bosses; our younger dog (2.5 years old) is fearful and therefore aggressive with other dogs to the point that she needed to wear a muzzle. By training with the Academy, both of our dogs were off leash in the park and listening intently to our commands within 6 lessons, and our formerly aggressive dog was able to go without her muzzle AND interact with other dogs without issue in the park today. We are so proud of our dogs and all the work they’ve done! I cannot say enough good things about Tyril and the Academy! I recommend them to anyone looking to train their dogs and train themselves to be better dog owners. From the Academy you only get constant support and training for both you and your dog, so that you both feel comfortable and learn in a safe environment.
