Unique Framing Unlimited

These are my framing guys. They always do an excellent job. I am an illustrator and painter, and I’ve been coming here for years, both for my personal collection and for my clients’ orders. They have fast turn around, and good attention to detail. I’ll keep going back.

This was a no-​frills experience, but one of those awesome «only-​in-​New-​York» ones.
I went to Unique Framing based on a (the only other) Unilocal review, and a hunch, and it totally paid off. I had 4 items to be framed, in various sizes (2 quite large), and I walked out paying $ 230 total for all 4. I’d venture to guess there is nowhere else in NYC with these prices.
This is not a fancy store — it’s a warehouse-​type workshop without a real storefront, and it’s clear they mostly do business-​to-​business: I imagine they have corporate bulk clients, in addition to probably being the place other frame shops outsource to. The guys took the time to look at my pieces and give me advice about what would work best. They are interested in doing quality work, but also in giving the customer a good deal. All of the custom frames they did for me were perfect.
For example, my 4^th piece was a standard-​sized print, and rather than try to sell me an intricate custom frame, they directed me to a pile of (nice) frames they had for $ 10, and it’s just perfect.
This place is out of the way, but it’s totally worth checking out. I am planning to go back soon with 2 more items.

Ever had artwork framed in or around Brooklyn? Chances are you never have heard of Unique Framing Unlimited, yet chances are the frame shops you have been to know them well, and may indeed contract them to do their work, then charge you three times what Unique Framing bills them.
It’s a little known secret around Park Slope and surrounding areas this is the place professional go to get frames made; many of the fancy hotels in Manhattan and Brooklyn have their work done here. No they do not have a fancy showroom, you literally walk into the shop, and the Down-​to-​Earth staff will work with you to get you the perfect frame.
Unique Framing Unlimited is located in a commercial section of 24^th street between 4^th and 5^th Ave, you can easily miss their nondescript sign out front, but once you have a frame made here, you will wonder why you ever went anywhere else!
