This salon is excellent, however they ALWAYS cancel on you! Don’t make an appointment here if you need your hair done within a certain time limit, because they will probably flake out on you! Very annoying to think you have an appointment to find out you can’t get your hair done! Not the first time this has happened actually the 3^rd! I will no longer being using them! Sucks because they actually do hair very nice

Ali is a great stylist and a wonderful personality. I always enjoyed talking to her and I loved her work. I left the salon for other reasons (got tired of the smart-ass remarks from the managers/bosses/owners/whatever they were) but Ali is wonderful.

I’ve been going to Ali at Van Zachary for years, for both cut and color. She always does a great job in both using her expertise on hair as well as really listening to what I want. This salon is also extremely affordable compared to other Brooklyn & NY salons, and the staff is friendly/accomodating.
I definitely recommend Ali for cut and color!

Asked for a haircut that was long layers I now have a bowl cut. I will need two years of growth before I get back the length that was chopped off. I am so upset I feel that I wasn’t listened to and Debbie just cut my hair to what she felt like that day. I will never go back there again

My former hair salon recently shut down. The salon sent all the hairdressers including mine (Amy) to Van Zachary.
I liked this salon there is a lot of free parking in the area, the staff was very welcoming and accommodating. There is a lot going on in the salon and its kind of shaped like a maze with hairdressers hidden in nooks. The salon was also very clean!
If you go i recommend Amy shes has a hip style and knows what to do with each individuals hair (my friends go to her as well)
