Zuri’s Petite Spa

Zuri is very nice and is very careful about the services she provides. While the set-​up is a bit odd (she is located in an apartment building, no store front), she does not rush you at all and really knows what she is doing. Plus she is ahead of the curve in comparison to other local salons (e.g., one of the few around here to do sugaring!).
But she does talk a lot, and there are times when I just want quiet when I am having a facial or other service. Even minor appointments seems to take much longer than they should. And since there is no receptionist or anything, she can sometimes get distracted by calls/​texts from other clients.
Still, if you have the time, she is excellent at what she does.

I love this place and I am super picky when it comes to spas. The Fort Greene/​Park Slope Spa scene is totally out of control and overpriced, so this is a welcome respite from that.
Got a Brazilian Sugaring here, which I’ve had before, and it was a really great experience (ok. as great as having hair ripped from your genital area can possibly be). It was less painful than any hair removal process I’ve ever experienced and the owner was wonderful and really made me feel comfortable.
Walk right by the overpriced snotty salons and go here instead. Use the money you save to buy a $ 10 head of broccoli at Provisions.

Went for a facial.
She was too talkative and her products seemed «bootleg» (The bottles said «Mr Jerome’s???). She insisted that she pop this cystic zit i had. I wanted to just leave it and let the white head appear and then extract it later… or just let nature take it’s course. I was in pain as she tried to pop it so I asked her to stop. Too expensive for what I got. Never again.

I saw a deal on Living Social for a brazilian wax at Zuris and couldn’t pass it up! I have always wanted to try a brazilian but was always too scared to show anyone other than my doctor or my bf my lady parts. I made sure I called and got the run down about what exactly I would be enduring. When I got to my appointment Zuri made sure that I was comfortable with what was about to take place. She explained everything that would be happening to me (brazilian sugaring) and I had a good experience with her. Yes she does talk a lot but it helped to keep my mind off of what was taking place. Shes extremely professional and I loved that. I’ve gone to Zuris to get a brazilian sugaring twice now and will be going back for the third time this week. It’s a nice escape from the bustling streets of downtown BK as well, give her a try I promise she won’t disappoint.

I have been seeing zuri for a year now and i can only describe her in one word AMAZING with every visit i leave with something extra whether it is service or advice. I have seen much improvement in my skin and wouldnt trade her for no1 else

I decided to try Zuri for Spa Week. I got a message and a facial. First lst me say that the Spa is «Petite» which I think adds to the charm and expereince. The décor was lovely, serene and clearly professional establishment. It rivals many storefront Spas and I could argue that she did a much better job with the décor and how her space is utilized. It’s space of total peace and you feel it the moment th door opens. The facial was fabulous! My skin is brighter, silky and soft. Zuri offered tip for maintance I defintely plan to take heed to. She also sugared some facial hairs. I am happy with the results and I did not experience any pain… sugaring is now my friend! The message was great. Zuri has a gentle but firm touch that applies just the right amount of pressure to get the kincks out and relax the body. Upon arrival Zuri was very hospitable! It was still early in the day and she asked if I had breakfast and I really didn’t (just a cooke). She came out with a plate of slices apples and almonds! You can’t put a price on that ! I really appreciated it. I could go on but I advise anyone to come and expereince this spa for yourself… If you are looking for a Spa that will give you personal attention, this is it.
I will definitely be back!

Her spa week deals were great. I got a massage and a facial last week and it was so amazing I came back for a back facial and brow wax. She does everything from massages and facials to waxing, manis and pedis, skin consultations and more! She gives you a lot of personal attention and makes each person feel special.

I am completing my Ph. D with a focus on overweight and obese in Black women. This is relevant to this review in that I have not been able to take a vacation for several years now, for any free time is used to write my dissertation. I am also employed full time in a coroporate setting. Since, I cannot routinely take vacations, I try to indulge in the small creature conforts that day spas have to offer such as massages, facials, manicures, pedicures and shopping for vintage clothes. I had an opportunity to visit Zuri Petite Spa a few years ago and. I have had several services. Firstly, allow me to comment on the cleanliness and orderliness of this beautifully appointed SPA, an organic and very clean environment. I am a health care professional and administrator and am really impressed with Zuri’s knowledge of biology, science and the function of skin and hair. Not only is she knowlegable, but this knowledge is used to educate and inform her customers. A part of a Spa experience is the personal touch and special attention. The attention to details and comraderie experienced in Petite Spa are special touches and add value. I have refered and taken several of my friends to Petite Spa, which represents my complete vote of confidence. I have one regret…, that is with my demanding schedule of doctoral study, full time employment and being a community activist, I have not carved out the needed time to schedule regular appointments with Zuri to take care of ME! I plan to do better in this aspect. In March of this year, I lost a close girlfriend, to death. In January of this year, I took my girlfriend of 30 years (I am her son’s godmother) and another friend to introduce them to and to brag about Zuri. I called Zuri, very impromptu, in that I did not have an appointment, to ask could I bring 2 friends up to see the Spa. She allowed us to come up for a few minutes, for she had another scheduled appointmnet. We went up and she took the time to answer questions and make recommendations to my 2 friends. My girlfriend who died in early March of this year kept saying that she wanted to scheduled an appointment to go back. I tried hard to coordinate a time when she and I could go back to Zuri. Unfortunately, she became ill in early Feb. 2012 and made her transition in early March, 2012, never having the experience of returning to this excellent Spa, Zuri. The orderliness, the cleanliness, the expert knowledge of Zuri and the professional business atmoshhere of this Spa are all reasons that I will continue to carve out time from my demanding schedule for these creature, but very important comforts that will serve to reduce our stress and add quality to our lives. Zuri Petit Spa is one of the best well kept secrets.

I went to this spa during spa week and was disappointed with the experience. I was late and I called to keep her posted, but she charged me for both services and only did one. She has a late policy written on her wall, but didn’t apply it. The space for the massage was extremely small. I will never go back nor recommend it.

Came here for spa week in April & it was an experience. I got a facial & a sugaring Brazilian. The sugaring Was different than what I expected. I’ve used sugar wax before but Zuri’s was different. It was basically a lump of wax & even though it’s advertised that it doesn’t hurt it absolutely does! But the results were great. My facial on the other hand could have been better. She kept saying that my skin was oily but I have combination skin & my tzone is oily, no where else. My skin didn’t feel as good as it usually does after a great facial so I’ll stick to my usual place. My biggest complaint was that she talked A LOT & I’m accustomed to quiet serene spa days but overall she was pleasant & I’m glad I went for the experience but I won’t be returning.

Came in for a couples massage during Spa Week, and it was fantastic! I had Zuri, she had perfect pressure, worked on my requested areas, it was great. Since we were unfamiliar with the area, she recommended some of her favorite eateries, that was really nice too. Such a warm, comfortable, inviting atmosphere, and great experience.

Took advantage of the spa week specials. This quaint yet cozy spa provides you with the quality treatment needed. Its conveniently located by the famous Habana Outpost. I had the facial and massage. The treatment was so relaxing that I fell asleep (snored a little). I was told all day how I was glowing and looked rejuvenated. Will be making an appointment for the Hubby!
