In comparison to all of the other places to eat in Cache Creek, Chang Shou would have to be the most eye-appealing. It could definitely pass for a Vegas style restaurant. I like the little fountain they have by the host stand. Made me want to snatch some coins out and use them for the penny slots really quick. Hahaha just kidding! The service deserves 5 stars! Our server was wonderful! She was very apologetic about us having to wait a little(which we didn’t mind at all) & provided excellent service. She was efficient and attentive! Our tea was always refilled & she was right around the corner when we needed our bill. Now, onto the food– we ordered 2 hot and sour soup cups, Thai garlic beef, and the special fried rice. The soup was the perfect temperature! It was nice and hot with lots of flavor. The garlic beef was very tender, so thumbs up to that. The fried rice was okay. I thought the rice was a bit hard. We’ll be back!

Great and authentic food that I can finally compare to he food i crave from my past asia trips. Will definitly be coming back again. Plaace is very well decorated but a bit loud on a Saturday night and 1 hour wait is exoected. Well worth it though. Reseanoably priced for this food and location. Big plus to the Casino

What a delightful Asian restaurant in a California casino. Dining under a golden dragon with eyes light up from above. Not as cheesy as it might sound but the set up works in a comfortable atmosphere after dropping a few dimes from the gaming floor. Ordered Kung Pao Chicken, Korean BBQ ribs and beef Chow Fun. Did not take long to order but there was a wait before the food arrives which is understandable. Seating was comfortable and the water has no odd flavors that you might get from other establishments. Not only did it look delicious but it smells like it was meant for royalty. The ribs were just fabulous, quite tender but not overbearing with a lot of marinaded flavor where you cannot taste the meat, it was done right. So were the Kung Pao and i had tried many, this dish was one of the better ones. I know this might sound silly but some places barely put any peanuts in this dish but not here. The more the better as you get a nutty crunch with every mouthful. For the chow fun, I personally prefer thicker rice noodles but it didn’t disappoint because it was properly cook which compliment the other dishes well. Side of rice was not needed as filler as this meal was winning! I would highly recommend the Korean ribs here just as it was recommended from a nice fellow Unilocaler. Thanks for the heads-up but if we could have manage to not lose too much $$$ while staying there…

My family and I chose this establishment for our Mother’s Day celebration because it seemed to offer what we were looking for. Unfortunately, the service we received was completely rude and disrespectful. Here are more details for my one-star rating: 1) Bad staff attitude. We received a dish that wasn’t what we were expecting and wanted to send it back to the kitchen. We only had one bite before realizing that the rest would be completely unappetizing. The manager in charge came to our table with an attitude and told us we should have read the menu more closely. 2) Staff apathy. When my mom was reaching for something in her purse, her cane fell to the floor and was struggling to pick it up. As I was reaching for my wallet to pay, I saw that the waiter saw what had happened and was expecting him to help her by simply picking up the cane– but he didn’t. He simply watched her struggle. I was livid. This restaurant doesn’t deserve our patronage and will not be seeing us step foot in there again.

Cache Creek, you surprise me, seriously! Maybe my reviews may be slightly lower had I not been rolling with high rollers, but Chang Shou is a solid spot for Chinese eats in the middle of nowhere! Can it compete with Bay Area Chinese restaurants, probably not, but it’s way better than some Chinese spots I’ve been to and better than Sino, and the like. Pluses: Seafood chow fun, minced chicken lettuce cups, pan fried noodles, walnut prawns. Ok: Chicken Congee Pass: Haw Gaw & duck egg rolls. Potstickers. The portions were a good size, with the exception of the duck egg rolls and haw gaw(about one piece per person). Potstickers were average at best. I think the dim sums didn’t have as much flavor and weren’t that spectacular. Seafood chow fun had lots of shrimp, scallop and squid and veggies with a nice light gravy. The pan fried noodle was nicely crisp and had the same light sauce, accompanied by lots of fresh veggies and bbq pork and chicken. Minced chicken lettuce cups you can never go wrong with! The walnut prawns could have been a little more crispy as they had a little more sauce or thicker sauce then they usually do, but they were satisfying and plentiful. Chicken congee was standard, nice and light. I always like my jook thicker, but I never see restaurants that make it that thick. I also like how they gave us fried garlic pieces and chili sauce to add as we’d like. Décor was nice, think a teeny bit like PF Changs, but not really tacky. Service was good too. If you’re craving Chinese food while at Cache Creek I’d suggest Chang Shou. And why yes, there are Chinese people working here! =) 3.5 rounded up.

This place has a lot on their menu! And I definitely recommend this place over the other Asian restaurant at Cache Creek! I’ve eaten here a few times now and order the same couple things… Pad Thai(no egg) and/or the Buddha Delight… with a side(or two) of chili sauce! Always good service!

Random Wednesdate with the Hubby. We ordered lobster, sushi, and crème brûlée. The lobster was cut and served with thick noodles, in real lobster sauce. It was market price but worth every dollar. They also serve sushi during the weekdays so we had a rainbow and spider roll. The rainbow roll is shrimp, crab, and avocado topped with more fish(tuna and yellow tail) and tobiko. A spider roll is soft shell crab. And if that wasn’t enough, we splurged on dessert, a ginger crème brûlée. What can I say, he spoils me. Great service and exceptional food!

The first and ONLY time I ate here, I found a giant piece of paper with something written on it in my stew dish. No joke. Complained to the waitress and she panicked and called over the manager. After much haggling, they were willing to reimburse me for the untouched dish. At first, they just wanted to offer me free desert. I expected more. It completely killed my appetite and left hungry. Keep in mind that the dish is made in a giant pot, so others eating that dish will be affected as well. You like stewed paper with ink? If so, this is your place. Not going to be back. Be warned.

Great food but just a little pricey for what you get! I had the kung Pao chicken, & wonton soup! Everything is made fresh to order & cooked in a wok style!

THEBESTCHINESERESTAURANTEVER!!! I adore this Chinese Restaurant! I’ve had mostly bad experiences when it comes to a Chinese restaurant, but this one is perfect. It has great ambiance and décor. They have a lot of booth and table options. We ordered the Korean BBQ ribs($ 17), the salt and pepper fried pork, buddha delight vegggies with mushrooms and bok choy, the honey walnut shrimp, and shrimp fried rice. Everything was delicious! I heard they also have great porridge! The food came out really quick, which was great because we were starving! But the quality of the food and the mouthwatering taste was the best part. Every dish came out perfect and nothing was under or over cooked. I wish this restaurant was closer to home, but for now, I guess I’ll have to make the two hour drive to eat here! Our waiter was also wonderful and was very on top of her game!

Casino restaurants are a hit or miss for me, but my mother highly recommends this place for their soft shell crabs! *How can I say no to soft shell crabs!!!* Chang Shou presents itself as a Chinese restaurant with their red and gold Chinese themed décor and figures! However, they also offer Thai, Filipino, and Vietnamese dishes on their menu to lure in the diverse Asian gamblers who flock Cache Creek! FOODS(Family Style) — — — — — — — — — — *They were out of soft shell crabs *(UGH! F#%K)* and Manila clams when we dined here for dinner…* — Chicken Lettuce Cups –It’s a simple starter, but tasty. You just need a little bit of the hoisin sauce for the wraps! — Fried Rice — We ordered two of these for a party of five! It was really good! — Mongolian Beef — The beef was tender and cooked to perfection. Not drizzled in oil like other Chinese restaurants. — Salt & Pepper Shrimp — Small portion, but another yummy dish on their menu! — Thai Crispy Chicken(one-half) — The skin was a bit salty, but I loved the crispiness. The chicken was good, and it wasn’t dry at all! — Bangkok Stir Fried Seafood — This dish came with Manila clams(ANDOURSERVERSAIDTHEYWEREOUT… lol), scallops, shrimps, and cuttlefish! Eat it with steamed rice! *Prices are reasonable for the quality and the taste of their food. Also considering the fact that it’s inside a casino. Great service that night also with food coming out fast and our server being very attentive to our needs! Our waters were refilled, and she rushed our hot tea upon request.* I haven’t been to the other restaurants inside Cache Creek, but I’d come back here!

The bomb dot com. I love this place. Whenever my parents and I come to Cache Creek for some gambling, I always suggest to come here to eat! The main thing I get from here is the Bird’s Nest. Yummyyyy! I really like everything on their menu. Can’t go wrong with this place, you won’t be disappointed!

I was always skeptical about Chang Shou, thinking it was like a P.F. Chang’s. We have passed by it so many times while in the casino and the lines were always long and the wait is usually an hour or so without reservations. Because we got such a late tee time and the restaurant on top of the golf course was closed and there is nothing around the casino except the casino we decided to eat at Chang Shou and give it a try. Never hurts to give anything a try. This restaurant serves Asian cuisine, not just Chinese, but Thai and Filipino food. I would rather have them serve one type of Asian food instead of a variety of Asian food because they end up not cooking some dishes correctly and I was right. There were lots of Asian patrons in this restaurant when we were here. I’m sure many of them get their food bill comped because they are high rollers. Service: The service was fine, nothing over the top, normal service was given. Food: Chinese Chicken Salad — I didn’t try this dish, didn’t look like the typical Chinese chicken salad you find at restaurants. I wouldn’t order this dish but because my boyfriend’s brother was on a strict diet he had to order a salad. Peking Duck — The peking duck was very good. The skin was very crispy and the Asian chips that come along with it were very fresh. Not like the ones they serve at typical Asian restaurants where they cook it in the morning and leave it sitting there all day until they need to put it on a dish and it’s a stale chip by then. I would def order this dish again. Shrimp Stir Fry — The Shrimp Stir Fry wasn’t bad at all. Some people may say it’s bland, but I like my food bland at times. It had baby corn, carrot, bok choy and American broccoli as the stir fry veggies. Pad Thai — My first instinct about the Pad Thai when I saw it on the menu that you could order it however spicy you want, should have been DONOTORDER!!! The waitress did ask me how spicy I wanted my pad thai, I looked at her and said, huh!!! So I went with mild. When it came out, presentation was not pad thai and it didn’t’ taste like pad thai. Kung Pao Chicken — The kung pao chicken was pretty good. I really liked that dish. One odd thing about it is they add jalapeño peppers instead of the red chili peppers that they usually add in Asian restaurants. They did have flakes of chili pepper. Shrimp Fried Rice — It was good, nothing out of the ordinary. Fried rice stir fried in soy sauce with shrimp. Overall, the food was decent. The portions are decent size, not huge portions you find at a typical Chinese restaurant. They don’t add MSG which I really like. The prices are typical for an Americanized Chinese restaurant, average price of a dish is about $ 10 — $ 12. They have to make their money somewhere for it being in a casino. Think of it as a PF Chang’s but better food. Haven’t been to a PF Chang’s in YEARS. Being Asian I think PF Chang’s is too Americanized for me and the food doesn’t even taste like Chinese food, at least some of the Chang Shou’s dishes are authentic enough, the food is cooked by Asians. Would def come back again

Best place to eat inside Cache Creek! — All kinds of asian food! dim sum! Even filipino food. lol. Caters to my gambling blood. xD — Awesome decorations. Dragon above! — I’ve been here a few times and here’s a no fail proof order: Mongolian beef, Congee, Korean BBQ ribs, walnut prawns, Pad thai, Crab fried rice — When I got the HK chow mein, it was a bit too saucy. I need my crispy noodle. — Chicken satay with eggplant had some bamboo in it. I thought it ruined the flavor. — Roasted chicken is a honorable mention. Almost like duck. crispy and nom. — Overall, oilier than average, but I’ve had worse. Just don’t eat the last pieces that are soaked. Go for the top pieces. haha. — Best described as an inferior PF Chang. Typical cainso-flavor taste. — No tax. Easy to calculate. — Service is hit or miss. Nothing surprising. Can’t take congee to go.

My favorite restaurant inside Cache Creek! This place is not the best Chinese restaurant, but I’m always pretty excited to eat here. Why? Because they have pretty darn good seafood dishes and decent noodle dishes. I think I’ve tried all of the noodle dishes! While I like some more than others, they are all pretty decent. My favorite is the seafood chow fun. While the taste could be bit bland for some people, the seafood they have are always super fresh and well-cooked. The shrimp, scallops, and squids all have impeccable textures. I for one hated when seafood are over-cooked, they taste nasty, soggy, rubbery, and just eww. The Bangkok seafood dish is also really good with the perfect amount of spicy-ness, yum! The Chinese chicken salad would be almost perfect if there wasn’t so much ginger! Seriously, its nice to have some ginger flavor but there’s no need to overdose on it. The salad has really fresh and crispy lettuce with deliciously flavored super moist chicken. The dressing is also fabulous. I never had problem with their service, while some servers can be slower than others– their service has always been delightful.

First time to the casino? Eat here! Most popular items here include HK chow mein, sesame chicken, beef chow fun(NEWITEM: Drunken Noodles!!), Buddha Delight, and honey walnut prawns. My favorites: 5-spice crab, Korean beef,(spicy) sesame chicken(deserves a double-mention), chicken lettuce cups, and they make excellent spring rolls! I could go on… There is a reason the high rollers frequent this place with or without Hosts– the food is flat out delicious and better than all other options in the Casino. Chefs will even prepare fresh sushi on the weekends. I wish this place could be transplanted to Sac because I would eat there all the time. They recently redesigned the patio and now it looks gorgeous. Great place for a group or 2-top. There’s full bar service and if you would like to sit at the Monkey Bar, you can order any menu items. ** Be prepared to call in for a reservation for the rush hours on weekends as the wait list can peak to nearly 2 hours depending on casino events. Understand that Jade and Ruby cards get priority seating without a reservation, so again call ahead if you don’t have one of those cards.

With little options at Cache Creek, I would recommend this place if you are looking for expensive, small portion, PF Chang quality pseudo-Chinese food. It’s not bad, but not authentic either. A lot of non-Asians here. I think I was the only Asian fool in there. My choices were limited… fast food Mexican, fast food American, or the Asian Kitchen. They have a huge menu with great variety. There is something for everybody. Beef chow fun, chow mein, buddha delight all sucked. They were bland and cooked poorly. The salt and peppered short ribs were good. The honey glazed shrimp was Good, but not perfect. Service was not up to the level that you would expect for such an expensive place. However, this is a casino, so maybe my standards are too high. If you are not from San Francisco, I’m sure you will like it. It’s just like PF Changs and I hate PF Changs.

After a night of no luck winning, we checked out Chang Shou restaurant. We had a few minutes of wait time then were seated right away. This spot used to be Kung Fu Fat’s Asia Café and Noodle House. Obviously, it had undergone an all around identity name change. My memory is quite blurry but from the looks of things not much really changed with this place. The menu offered the same theme and prices. Complimentary tea was served then we placed our orders: Shumai — steamed pork & shrimp dumplings. Wor Won Ton & Noodle —(big bowl) combination with noodles soup. Pai Gow Congee — a combination of chicken and shrimp. Though the Shumai was listed with«& Shrimp Dumplings» on their menu under Dim Sum Appetizers, this is not to be confused with Har Gow. Basically for shumai you get an order of steamed pork dumplings. Har Gow was also listed as a separate item if you want shrimp dumplings. I just had to ask. A few minutes later the food came. The shumai was fair and filling. My wor wonton & noodle soup was good portioned and just how I remembered it tasty and comforting. The pai gow congee was a hit as always. Good food and great selection…
