I have been a long time patient of Dr. Rao’s. I have had to call up their offices several times to beg for my insulin refills. My pharmacy will fax over the requests, and they go ignored. They claim their fax machine does not work, yet while I am standing in Dr. Rao’s office getting my next appointment date, guess what… they receive a fax! This has gone on for several years now and I am tired of trying to get my medications which I rely on to live! Do yourself a favor and don’t choose this doctor. Their staff is very unfriendly, offices unclean, and they never answer the telephone. The only way you will be able to contact them is to go to their office in person and threaten to goto another doctor

I was admitted to the emergency room for severe asthma and told to follow up with Dr. Rao. When I called his office I was told that he was making«adjustments» and would not be seeing any patients with medicaid regardless of the plan or recommendation. If he is being hired by the hospital to treat those patients then I see it as unconscionable that he would refuse to follow up treatment for such a severe illness. If he wants to run a private business, then he should run it entirely from his own office and not have the affiliation of the hospital.

While I really do believe one should judge a doctor by their diagnostic and treatment skills, etc., I can’t help but be totally turned off by the filthy state of his office. It was so bad that I felt the need to report the condition of the bathroom to the girls at the desk, telling them their cleaner is not doing a good job. I could not use the facilities. It was then I learned that they have to clean as the doc doesn’t hire a service. PASS
