I would not recommend taking a mechanical watch in for repair. I have brought in watches for over two years and it has been mixed bag. Sometimes there are no issues, other times it has taken months to get a watch back. I don’t think that the watchmaker has the best qualifications. The most recent incident was the last straw. My watch still runs very fast even though it was returned and kept for many weeks after the initial«repair» made things worse. I was assured by the owner when I picked it up a 2nd time that the watch kept good time, but this could not have been true as it still ran more than 10 minutes fast in a 12 hour period. Maybe he was looking at another watch??? A time warp, perhaps? I will be researching other jewelers with a better watchmaker. I will not return to this business for *any* reason again. No more trust.

My experience @ Timothy’s was exceptional. Timothy’s was the only jewelry store that wanted to help me, and charge me a fair & consistent price. I love how personable, knowledgeable and realistic the associates are. After multiple phone calls and visits to Timothy’s and many other Jewelers, I’ve very happy that I chose Timothy’s to create this engagement ring. By comparison — Visiting ShaneCo was one of the worst experiences of my life. My Story: 2 years ago I picked up a 3.02 cwt lab-created synthetic solitaire from auction in Canada. Since then I have contacted multiple jewelers, from Denver, Colorado & surrounding suburbs to Coronado Bay, California. To get the stone set: Most jewelers refuse to set stones you did not purchase from them. Even worse, the jewelers that do quoted me $ 1000-$ 2000JUST for the act of settings the stone, and expect me to purchase the band & mounting in their stores or they would charge even MORE. Now, any jeweler will sell you a band and mounting, but then I’d be looking at $ 1200-$ 3000 just to get the stone set. This is outrageous, especially considering they either refuse to set synthetic stones, or charge even MORE for them. $ 1500-$ 5000! Whats worse is I knew they were playing me. Vanessa Nicole Jewels has a great youtube video showing you how to set your own stone in 5 minutes and 20 seconds. I started wondering… Then I found Timothy’s. A single phone call — a 3ct round synthetic looking for an elegant solitaire mounting, and they would set my stone into any band for less than $ 100. LESSTHAN $ 100 — that saves me at LEAST $ 1400! When we started looking at bands & mountings, my friends continued to suggest I go to Shane Co — «They have great service», «I picked up my wife’s ring there». I called and explained what we were looking for, but the associate persisted that she could not help over the phone and we must come down to the store. We arrive at ShaneCo and find a sales associate to help us. We explain EXACTLY what we’re looking for. A white-gold band & mounting for a 3ct solitaire. To my surprise, the associate spent more than 30 minutes showrooming us NON-Solitaire settings, recommending high-price, diamond studded bands, 3-stone sets and even«matching» necklaces(for«Stocking Stuffers»). When we finally sat down with a few bands that fit our preference, I asked her to give us some time to discuss amongst ourselves, and in response she sat directly across the table from us, continuing to pitch additional gifts and recommend non-solitaire mountings that she had already shown us. I sternly pointed out that she wasn’t leaving us alone, and we would really like to experience this special moment without high-pressure sales, peanut gallery comments and forced conversation with a stranger. She continued, and began adding that we should look at their engagement sets instead of finding a mounting for a lose stone. We left ShaneCo disgusted. I’m sure ShaneCo is a nice place for anyone who walks in with a blank check & no idea what he wants, or women with an affinity for big price tags, ShaneCo’s associates will force-feed you whatever overpriced, hip-and-now junk your materialistically brainwashed girlfriend will love bragging about. It’s a fad, a brand with commercialized expectations and no body. They want people to come in, buy what they’re told to, and leave. We found our band & mounting @ Timothy’s, from their Stuller’s collection and had them mount it for us. It’s beautiful, and even better than I’d imagined. I was in and out in minutes anytime I stopped by, the associates respected my time, answered all my questions and listened to me when I explained what I wanted, then actually helped me find it! My experience @ Timothy’s is second to none. Timothy’s is a Premium jeweler. They know what they’re doing & will help you find your ideal solution without pushing cookie-cutter merchandise in order to make a sale. I love & respect this jewelry store, and will do business with them again soon. Thank you, Timothy’s. Thank you so much.

So wonderful to have such a great local jeweler. Also much more knowledgeable, friendlier and cheaper than the malls jewelers.
