Bestop

I bought a tonneau cover through a dealer who got the cover from Bestop. I priced the GMC cover vs theirs and it was not even close. Bestop quality was great too. I used this cover for over one year then I had to buy another cover only, no rails, and went direct to Bestop. I had to buy another one due to user error. The product they sent did not fit as GREAT as the original that I bought. I called and let them know and Jim in costumer service was outstanding! He went above and beyond and sent me another cover. So the long and short of it is had a problem and they took care of it with their superior product.

I can’t begin to tell you how disappointed I am with this company. I bought a 2008 JK 2-​door about three weeks ago. I recently bought the windjammer, duster and speaker wrap that locks to the windjammer.
I get home and try to fit the windjammer on my jeep. There wasn’t much thought when it came to properly engineering this thing. I am 6’2″ and cramped in my JK as it is. You can’t put the seat all the way back if you have the wrap around style windjammer. Now I have this brand new windjammer, speaker cover and duster that I cannot use or return.
Second, I wanted the bikini top to complete everything. I ordered my bikini top and windshield channel from US PartsOutlet online. The first header I got was pretty severely warped. I contacted them and they sent me another. The second one had heavy scratches and one end was dented. I again called them and they sent me yet a THIRD replacement. This one was dented on BOTH ENDS. Every time I received a damaged windshield channel I contacted bestop. Everytime they insisted that the channel was damaged in shipping and with their quality control they would NEVER send out an item that didn’t meet their standards. The issue is these are drop shipped upon order and not one of the boxes they were shipped in were damaged in any way. It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to figure out that these headers were all damaged prior to shipping. I went round and round with a bestop customer service rep who even tried to tell me the company I bought from sold me used parts. Impossible. They were all brand new and all the nuts, bolts and instructions were included, new and shrink wrapped.
I feel ridiculous contacting US partsoutlet and telling them that yet the THIRD header they sent Is damaged. Seriously, this is outrageous. Bestop wont stand behind their product and they just push me to deal with the seller. I’m just going to sell all of it and start over with original Mopar or I’ve been looking at smittybuilt and rugged ridge. Do yourself a favor and don’t bother with bestop products.

I guess I just can’t learn… I bought the element doors with the mirrors from quadrotec. The doors are way overpriced for what you get. The metal is thin and not the quality I was expecting for $ 320. The latches are a complete joke. Nearly every time you open the door (driver or passenger) the door catch goes to far and the hole that the finger hook slides through misses completely. You have to fiddle with it to get everything to re-​align and then you can close the door. Twice I went to close the doors and they wouldn’t latch because the mechanics are not properly engineered. The idea is great but the product itself is FAR from perfect and being I work in R&D this is something that would never meet production standards. I really am disappointed in every bestop piece I have for my JK and actively looking for other alternatives. Today I bought the spiderweb shade mesh bikin top and it BLOWS the Bestop bikini out of the water. No flapping, 5 minute install, no header to deal with and stores in a small pouch you can easily fit in the trunk. Save yourself the time, frustration, headaches and above all MONEY and avoid these products.

Wonderful product, fantastic customer service. I ordered my kit (from a wholesale company) and paid extra to get it sooner, unfortunately it was missing pieces (box was ripped during transit and believe they fell out then) I called Bestop directly and they expedited shipment it so I could finish setup the next day and I was able to go on the planned vacation.
