Centurylink

So sick of this ISP. My download speed is like a quarter of what it is supposed to be, and when I called them, they gave me excuse after excuse and never attempted to do anything to fix it from their end. They treated me like I was stupid, giving me excuses that made no sense, thinking I wouldn’t know any better. For example, they tried to tell me that my download speed would be slower on larger files because the download speed is what percentage of the file is downloaded per second. After I explained how this is wrong, and that download speed is a bit rate, the put me on hold for like 10 minutes and came back and told me it was because of my devices. I was literally sitting in front of 2 laptops, a desktop and a tablet. I never thought I would say this, but im going back to Comcast *cringes uncontrollably* I wish there was an actual good ISP out there :’(

do not believe them when they give you a very low price because the fist bill you get will not be anyway near what they quote you

Totally terrible. Internet cuts out every hour or so for a while and a long wait to get it hooked up

Ever since Qwest became Centurylink, we have had constant problems with our account and service. Centurylink continues to shut off our service with no reason and provide no ability to get the issues resolved outside of 8 – 5 business hours. When we finally do get the issue resolved after several wasted hours on the phone they refuse to take any responsibility for the issue and issue any sort of credit on our account for the inconvenience. If you have a choice in ISP’s, do choose something other than Centurylink.

They don’t even get a star they changed my plan and without telling me all my messages and my outgoing messages went away! There were some of the cutest messages when my children were little that I can never get back!!! Horrible horrible horrible

Terrible customer service! I went into this Centry Link store after having issues with Comcast. I needed internet ASAP, thinking if I went into the store got the equipment and talked to someone, it would be installed quicker… WRONG! They didn’t have a modem in stock and the closet install date was 2 weeks away. Needing internet, I didn’t have much of an option but to wait. Come to find out, nobody actually comes to the house, it is turned on remotely, so why does it take 2 weeks?! I went back into the store to verify it had been turned on and pick up a modem. While in the store, they were continuing to push their other products (home phone, Verizon cellphone, and Direct TV) which was very irritating. I got home, took over 2 hours to get the network set up. Went to use the internet and it says the DSL is connected but the internet is not. Called Tech Support, needless to say my internet STILL does not work and nobody speaks understandable English on the phone. I am looking for another option ASAP before the 30 days is up and I get locked into the contract.

Wish not giving any stars was possible. Twice we have had our internet service shut off due to oversight on their part. This all came about because we took their offer to bundle directv with centurylink. At the end of our free trial for premium channels with directv we requested they be cancelled but of course they weren’t and we got a bill for $ 60 more than the ridiculous amount we already pay. I spent hours on the phone having this taken care of and was guaranteed a credit was issued and all premiums were cancelled. I paid our bill minus the credit amount as instructed. Our next bill was issued and showed and even higher amount. I called again and spent hours on the phone getting things sorted for the bill that wasn’t due for weeks. Several days later our service was shutoff for the unpaid credit balance that centurylink admitted having received from directv. I called yet again and spent hours on the phone with centurylink AND directv conferenced in to have this problem sorted. This month we receive our bill for the normal amount. FINALLY!!! It’s due the 24^th. Today is the 19^th. And again our service has been shutoff because they overlooked the credit issued from directv. Comcast sucks too but at least they never shut us off when we paid our bill.
