Orangetheory Fitness

Lets travel back in time to October 25^th 2014. The first day I walked in to Orange Theory Broomfield. I was 285lbs of solid fat. I smoke a pack a day, and ate like crap. To say the first workout is hard, is quite an understatement. I was ready to quit after the «warmup.» I could not row more than 200 meters without stopping, and could not «run» (that means jogging at 4.5 MPH) more than ¹⁄₁₀^th of a mile without needing a break. Pushups were awful, I could do 7 knee pushups before my arms gave out. By minute 30 of the workout I was telling myself to just finish that workout and then I would never have to come back. Tiffany was my trainer, and the entire way through, she was so positive. Every few minutes she would check in on me, and make sure I was not pushing too hard, drinking enough water, and trying to enjoy myself a little. By the end of the workout, about 55 minutes total, I had burned 1050 calories. As we were stretching out, the determination to never come back was fading, and the pride of finishing the workout was kicking in. Tiffany even had the whole studio clap for me getting through my first workout. I signed up for the unlimited membership (I might have been delirious from the workout) and it was the best thing I have ever done. I told Tiffany I was planning to come the very next day and she laughed and strongly recommended against it. She was right. I could barely move for 2 days afterwards I was so sore. It was a great sore though. My wife was so proud of me, and every wincing step I took, made me feel better and better.
Fast Forward to today. I am no going 4 – 5 days per week. I have muscles that I never new existed, and can jog 2 and ½ miles without stopping now. I am down 40 lbs in 7 months. The fatty liver that I developed 4 years ago is almost completely gone, and my doctor says I am losing weight at the perfect rate. I could never have done it without everyone at OTF Broomfield. Not only do I get the best workout of my life everytime I walk through the doors, but the trainers, front desk staff, and Garret the club manager are wonderful. It only took a few days for everyone to learn my name, and chat with me everytime I am there. The trainers especially are the best I have ever worked with. The only get a 15 minute break between classes, and they always have time to talk nutrition with me, celebrate a weight loss or inches lost milestone with me, or just to talk. My goal when I started was to get to 200 lbs. After long talks with Ben, Michelle, Heather, and Tiffany my goals have changed. They are all about making overall health the priority, and will do everything they can to make your health a priority to you and to them.

Love this place! Amazing and super helpful staff! They are very understanding to those just trying to get back into shape!

The workouts are dynamic yet challenging. The front desk staff is friendly and accommodating and the trainers are incredibly knowledgeable and experienced. You won’t find a better place to work out! :)

I love this place. I might be addicted. I have always hated going to traditional gyms. I feel like many of them are places people go to be seen and I hate not knowing if I am going to be able to use the equipment I want to. The only reason I tried OTF is because I have a sister who used to go in Minneapolils and she raved about it. I am used to working out on my own — jogging outdoors or using an eliptical indoors. I have never used weights because I had no idea what to do. At OTF I work out way harder than I ever have before. I used to think I just naturally didn’t sweat much. Now I know it’s because I wasn’t pushiing myself hard enough. And at OTF I have learned some basic work with weights and other moves (damn you burpees) that I can take with me and do on my own when I am traveling for work. I like that you can reserve your spot in advance — and I also love that more and more OTFs are popping up across the country. I have been able to use my membership at other locations in WI, OH and PA while traveling for work.
My only wish is that they posted the type of workout in advance on their schedule so you could decide which you wanted to sign up for (traditional 30 min. on treadmills and 30 minutes weights/​rowers vs. «tornado workouts»). I myself don’t like the tornado workouts even though I know a lot of people do.
Everyone I have experienced here has been super friendly. I plan to be a member for a long time.

The staff here are extremely rude. The tall guy, I believe his name is Garrett, is unprofessional to say the least. I hope no one has to experience him ever. You do not get welcomed or feel comfortable, which should be a point of focus since they are providing weight loss options which can tend to be a touchy subject for some. Work outs are good. But I will drive a little further for a better, friendly, more professional atmosphere. I will continue to spend my money at another location, bc of the lack of caring people here.
