C & J Drilling did an excellent job of drilling. They drilled so well, they went 150 feet past where the water was, through shale rock and into sulfur water. The reasoning behind going past the water they hit was that the county water log states there might be 40 gpm at 188 ft. So they went 198 feet to make sure they weren’t going to hit it. We had asked them to drill so far and stop, and whatever they hit, they hit, and if not, we’d ask them to drill another spot. Our requests fell upon deaf ears. Years later, I sit here still unable to take a decent shower, and I’m out the 7 grand they wanted for the well, tank pump and plumbing, and 1800 for a device to filter the stank out thats no longer working because the stank they found at that depth is so great normal devices aren’t meant to filter it out. They did a super job of drilling, and if I needed someone to abandon all logic and just drill, they’d be the first person I’d call. However, if you want a well done right, and you have adjacent neighbors with wells, know the water levels for the area, and what to expect when looking for water underground, I’d pass on calling C&J. 1) They failed to meet our requests. 2) They failed to perform up to contract. When contract said 85 feet, no one expected them to come out and dig to 198 ft(or to be charged extra per foot for it either). After meeting with numerous experts(and other well companies because we are now contemplating another 4000 for a well full of water we can use) we found out that if they had just stopped at 85 feet, and not went through the rock, we wouldn’t have the sulfur in our water and I wouldn’t be sitting here on a Saturday night, searching for ways to filter our water or correct our well. I might be enjoying a nice shower. P. S. It sucks I can’t rate this no stars.
