Terry Mautner DJed my wedding in 2010. We were charged a transportation fee by the company for him to come to the reception, which was approximately 59 miles away from Indianapolis. This part is fine, although it would have been nice to get service without the charge, especially given the experience we had. Terry set up in a little booth so completely blocked off from guests that he was relatively inaccessible for people to come up and request songs. First, he completely forgot to introduce one bridesmaid and one groomsman as our wedding party entered the reception hall, making my and my new husband’s grand entrance anticlimatic (as we knew two of our dear friends were totally left out of the introductions). To his credit, he sincerely apologized after being informed of this. He responded adequately to various requests made by a handful of adults who braved squeezing into his hidey hole to make a request. I was later informed by a group of little girls dancing that they had tried to make a request and were ignored by Terry. I squeezed into Terry’s booth and told him the girls wanted to request a song. Terry said that the girls had requested a song that had already been played (or was to be played later), so he didn’t play anything. I spoke to the girls and requested a song on their behalf to Terry. When it was time for my husband and I to leave the reception and go on our honeymoon, we stood by the door of the reception for at least 20 minutes while Terry did not notice that he was supposed to have played the goodbye song we had listed and announced us as leaving 20 – 25 minutes prior. At least the experience wasn’t worse than what we received. Maybe Terry was having an off-​night, but my husband and I remember the reception DJ as the most mediocre aspect of our wedding by far. I would seek another DJ if I had to do it again.

Thumbs up for DJ Jeremy G. from DJ’s Direct! We hired Jeremy for our Wedding in Indianapolis in April 2011 (by recommendation of our reception venue) and we were not disappointed. Music choices were good, dance floor was packed, Jeremy was very friendly and easy to plan with. We would highly recommend him and this company!

We hired DJ Direct, specifically Jeremy Gearries (who I believe is the owner of the company), for our wedding reception. He came highly recommended by so many others in the industry and we agree! He was very approachable, friendly, and professional. We believe that the DJ (or band) can make or break a wedding reception — and Jeremy didn’t let us down. The dance floor was packed the entire night. Even my 87 year old grandmother was dancing! Also, he provided a flat screen television for us (at very low cost) so we could showcase our special slide show during our cocktail hour. He was awesome — highly recommend.
