Coopers Rock Climbing Guides and BackCountry Adventures

Okay so Coopers Rock will have a very special place in my heart because My fiancé purposed to me. The hike was really nice and not to hard so the. Next time we go the kids we have won’t have an issue at all. So we hiked to coppers Rock had a PIC NIC it was really great! And then he took me the out look and he asked me to Marry him! The view was fantastic West Virginia really is the wild and the beautiful!

My sister and I decided to try out rock climbing for the first time while visiting family near Coopers Rock. CRCG was great.
The best way to get ahold of them is though email due to them often being out on adventures. You’ll need to schedule in advance. We were able to set our trip up a couple of days before with no problem though.
Talon was our instructor. He met us our at the trail head at Coopers Rock State Park and set us up with equipment (all provided). We then hiked down to the rocks where he had several climbing areas already set up for us. He went over safety and equipment then we jumped right in!
We did a 4 hour afternoon session which if you are a first timer in NOT the best shape of your life will probably be Perfect. We were able to get 7 climbs in on 4 different areas from 5.2 (super easy) to 5.10 (pretty dang hard!).
It was extremely challenging and one of the best times of my life. I may be hooked :) I’m already looking for rock climbing in Texas for when I get home.
