So when my son’s teacher left his school after last season we adopted the class Guinea pig. Waffles was given to the teacher some time in the past by her first owner. So she was a third hand pet by the time she came to stay with us. She was a little skittish being handled. But, in time we earned her trust. She never bit any of us and was a wonderful low maintenance pet. So when she suddenly started acting Ill it was upsetting. Her health deteriorated very rapidly. And I was in a scurry to find a vet for pocket pets open on a Saturday. I found Animal and Avian. They set a time ASAP for us and I brought Waffles in. It turns out she was dying. And after doing the math we figured she was at LEAST 4 – 5 years old. They didn’t pressure me into spending hundreds on trying to save a very old and very sick Guinea Pig. They agreed that letting her die now would be the humane thing since she was obviously suffering. They handled every aspect of this visit, (my first visit here) respectfully and with tact. Fast forward 1 week later… My wife and I were shocked to get a sympathy card from the clinic. Hand signed by the staff. Very classy we think. If we get another pet I think we’ve found our Vet. A++ rating!

First time visiting here, the staffs are very friendly. The interior is clean and well organized. Dr. Cathy helped me prepare the health certificate for my cat.

First let me say this is in regard to the Grooming center. In the past we have had great experiences with the Vets. Today I brought my dog to be bathed, he is fearful of the vet/​groomer so we have to carry him in (70 lbs). Upon picking him up I notice after we are in teh car blood on his face. So I look for a cut and do not see one, then go back in to ask if something had happened. The groomer said, oh he hit his face when he came out of the crate. I said well he is bleeding in him mouth by his gums so can someone come out and check? She heads off to find someone and then says, yes, but you have to bring him back in.
So first my dog gets hurt, 2^nd they don t even look to see if he is hurt as they know he bumped his head, and 3^rd to fix what they broke I have to carry back in my 70lb dog?
I will NEVER take my dogs back to this place to be groomed. and by the way through the door I can hear a different groomer saying to a dog, loudly, stop that you are hurting my back, stop it
This is not a professional grooming environment.

I took my 20-​year-​old African Grey here who had developed an upper respiratory infection. Unfortunately Billy (my grey) isn’t very friendly with strangers but Dr. Wilson and Patrick knew what to do and while we there they gave him a much needed nail trimming. So far Billy seems to be doing much better now and gave us great advice. They never once tried to pressure me into expensive and unnecessary procedures. Their rates are also extremely reasonable and will take my pets here for are all their future needs. Thanks again Dr. Wilson and Patrick!!!

I took my two kittens in to get their claws trimmed. The cost was fair ($ 16 for two cats), and they have a new club card, after 5, your 6^th is free. They were very friendly and incredibly quick. They were done with both kittens in less time than it took me to get them in the carrier.
The groomers only have certain hours, so call ahead. They take walk ins.

I took my dog here after I rescued him because it was the only animal hospital with whom I’m familiar. It’s a long drive for me but it’s worth it because I absolutely trust these doctors. They are courteous, competent, and they will not push you to do anything you aren’t comfortable doing. As a first time pet owner, I don’t really know what to expect when I need to take my pet to the doctor. They were very kind in walking me through the process, what I need to know, behaviors I need to observe, and they can even recommend other hospitals closer to me for my convenience. I will likely upgrade their rating to 5 stars as I continue to visit.

My guinea pig Henry has been through some rough times. And Animal & Avian Medical Center has been there for him the whole way.
It’s hard to find a small-​animal or exotic pets veterinarian that 1) has extensive knowledge of your pet; 2) offers cost-​friendly services; and 3) is actually trusted by your animal. At Animal & Avian Medical Center, Henry and I found three, count ‘em, THREE vets with all three qualifications.
And we’re not talking small beans here. In the three years I’ve had him, in addition to the regular nail trims and checkups, Henry the Guinea Pig has had treatment for: an eye infection; surgery on an infected bite wound; guinea pig mites; a respiratory infection that lasted four months, and caused all sorts of sub-​problems; a toe infection after he tore off one of his toenails on our carpet; and another respiratory infection (which thankfully didn’t last more than a couple of weeks). I may sound like a hypochondriac, but the vets at Animal & Avian never made me feel that way. The staff took my concerns about Henry just as seriously as I was taking them, and made sure to give me the best options for his recoveries based on Henry’s needs and my budget. They never once implied that he was «just a guinea pig,» or that he wasn’t worth spending the time or money on. They never once questioned my judgment about Henry’s health or behavior. Instead, they took the time to show me they understood he’s just as important to me as my own kin.
Henry has been healthy for months now, and just passed his latest vet checkup with flying colors! I owe his health to the qualified and friendly staff at Animal & Avian. If left any one of those conditions, especially the respiratory infections, to get out of hand, they could have proved fatal to my little guy. But he survived thanks to their knowledge and experience. Trust me when I say your pets are in good hands with the vets at Animal & Avian.
(PS – they just added a brand new wing to their office! The rooms have always been clean and well-​kept, but the renovation really helps the office reflect the service you’re getting.)
