Contrary to most Bowdoin students’ opinion, it’s actually not THAT bad(just not that good neither). Tofu and rice are below average, but the gyoza is pretty nice.

I have had some descent meals at this establishment. However, the last two visits have not been enjoyable at all. First of all, the owner, rather than hiring a wait staff, has gone the cheap route and employed his children, who are barely working age. They have no clue on serving. Simple basics, such as glasses of water, silverware, or even offering of tea… None of these were done. Secondly, the food was terrible! We ordered a coconut soup, chow fun noodle, stir fried green beans, and sea weed salad. The ‘chicken’ in the soup and chow fun was equal to your ‘mystery ‘meat category. Slimed, no flavor, and cut into strips? This did not resemble any chicken I have ever scene. The sea weed salad was marginal. Kinda hard to screw that up. The only positive mention would be the drinks– THATSIT! We left hungry as we lost our appetite when we ate the so called chicken. A $ 45 tab, and we will never go back. I suggest you look for Asian food in the Portland area. Because Brunswick just doesn’t hold a candle In The wind.

A good again place with a full bar. They tolerated me ordering off-menu and dos a good job of preparing the dish I asked for.

Food is decent. If you live in town better to go to Cooks Corner. There is Golden Chopsticks. Food overall is better. This place is ok but not the best.

The best Americanized Chinese food I’ve had! The lo mein was delicious, as was the scorpion bowl. Usually I judge Chinese restaurants off of their crab rangoons(in my experience, good crab rangoons = good everything else) and I loved Asian Garden’s! I know that is a little strange but it works for me every time! Anyway, I’ll definitely be back for take out and to sit down — their drink menu is as impressive as the food choices!

I was there with my aunt Saturday. And, there were two kids in the corner with tons of toys, they appeared to belong there, one of them very loud and the mother was the waitress/owner, she was walking around eating, she even ate while she took our order! The food was anything but fresh, it had a rank, bitter smell and taste. We couldn’t finish, and we left. Although we left a tip, I regretted it: the waitress/owner, actually cleared our plates and served another person’s lunch without washing her hands. Horrible place, don’t go there, even if you have to wait two hours somewhere else.

Not the best American style Chinese food I’ve ever had. A little pricy for the serving size, but that’s to be expected in this area. I don’t know, I was just expecting more from this place.

From the outside, looks like an Asian Fast Food place, but what a surprise. Inside, the décor is attractive and elegant. Full bar. Extensive menu. We went there for a weeknight dinner. We enjoyed the Pu Pu Platter for two, an assortment of about 10 items served on an attractive and functional rotating tray with a tiny hot grill in the center(another reviewer included a photo of a similar, but smaller, tray) for $ 17.25 and Vegetable Egg Foo Young for $ 9.25, all interesting and delicious – the serving size was generous – we took half home for another meal. Lunch prices are significantly lower. Excellent experience: delicious food, attractive surroundings, reasonable prices, generous servings = 5 stars. We will to there frequently.

I think this is our fourth visit. We like the lunch plates. We’ve tried orange chicken, General Tso chicken, sweet & sour pork, and pepper beef. We’ve also had fried rice, all the different soups, spring rolls, and egg rolls. We like it all!

This place should only serve dog food. Our dumplings were cold, seafood had a metallic taste, and nothing was served at its best. Avoid at all costs and go some place else for a much better meal.

Awesome food! Service is a little slacking but very good food and amazing setting. Very cute place. All sauces are made here and I have not had anything that was not perfect! Love love love! Must try!

Best Chinese food around. We have ordered take out many times and it is always delicious and exactly what we ordered. I have heard some say pricey but the portions are huge! Each dinner is 2 – 3 meals. The staff is by far the most pleasant I have ever encountered in the Chinese food arena.

Just had one good meal. We had the Ichiban roll, forgot the name of the other roll and szechuan chicken. Fresh ingredients and great flavor. Service was great too.

Brunswick’s Chinese food choices have been abysmal for years unless you like buffets with gloppy sauces sitting on steam trays. Asian Garden is an excellent option for those who are looking for good Americanized Chinese food. By no means is this authentic Chinese food that you would find in a large city’s China town, but if you are in the mood for good carry out, this is the best in Brunswick.

This is one of the worst«Asian» restaurants I’ve ever been to. The food is bland, unauthentic, and almost unrecognizable as the dish in question. We made the mistake of trying their pseudo-Thai and Chinese selections. *I* cook better Chinese and Thai food than this – by a long shot. When asked, we said we wanted the dishes VERY spicy. We repeated it: VERYSPICY. When it arrived, the food had no discernible heat at all. It is a crying shame that this prime location is occupied by this terrible restaurant while a super Thai place down Pleasant Street couldn’t attract customers and went out of business.

I was a little skeptical going into Asian Garden in Brunswick when the establishment had previously been a donut shop, but the ambiance was part of the totally positive surprising dining experience. Inside, the newly decorated interior was handsomely decorated with no resemblance whatsoever to the prior business. Food was served deliciously hot in very ample serving sizes. Eating at Asian Garden provided me with my first time tasting delicious Endamame beans. The white house Chardonnay wine was delicious but unfortunately I can’t recall the name(sorry). Overall, the menu offerings are numerous and a diverse sampler of Asian cuisines while the portion sizes are ample as well as delicious. Recommended Asian dining with a nice view of Brunswick’s Maine Street and Lower Mall Park, where summer concerts and a farmer’s market creates summertime buzz.

Asian Garden has the best sushi in Brunswick, and that’s impressive for a restaurant also serving three types of cuisine(Chinese, Japanese, Thai). Asian Garden doesn’t stock the variety of fish that neighboring places offer, nor do they have the most expensive seafood on the menu(if you’re looking for live surf clam nigiri you may wish to look elsewhere). What Asian Garden does offer is fresh sushi at the best price in the area: A great buy for lunch is the maki roll special, which is 3 rolls off the menu for $ 12. If one is looking beyond the sushi basics, there is a long list of special rolls on the last page of the menu, as well as daily sushi bar specials offered. One can tell by the ornate presentation of the sushi that Asian Garden takes pride in their food without being pretentious, I like that. One of my pet peeves is a small sushi roll: Y’know, when you get 4 – 5 different rolls and they all arrive the same size as the skinny salmon maki on the edge of the plate. Asian Garden has nice proportions of fish to rice/vegetables plus the fact that I can pick and choose from different ethnic cuisines over the course of my meal keeps me and whoever joins entertained with plenty of meal options. Although I go mostly for sushi, I’ve enjoyed both other cuisines offered by the restaurant and have always left full and happy.

I’ve been working across the street at the Pejebscot Historical Society and tried this place out of convenience. I first tried their Thai food, then their Chinese and finally Japanese. I’m usually quote skeptical of these places that are all across the board with their cuisine. Just pick one and be good at it! But all 3 were quite decent! Coupled with great lunch specials and excellent customer service– 4 stars easy. It’s not the best out there, but it’s pretty great! To maximize my alloted lunch time, I call in my order ahead of time. Otherwise, take-out will be about a 15min wait. Free WiFi and currently has a 20% off sushi special going on!

Great place for its food and the superb location. Their lunch special menu is very impressive and priced reasonably! Dinner is on a bit pricey side yet the ingredients are all fresh and the service is great! I’ve tried both Thai and Chinese dishes on the menu, and both of them are good. Highly recommended! Bowdoin students who show them ID cards can get 10% off discount. ;-)
