Great place for dinner. The ambiance was great. We loved the Sushi and our drinks. The staff were very nice and helpful. It was a busy night and some people were impatient with the wait but it’s well worth it. We made a reservation so we were sat immediately. We will be back for sure.

When I moved here; I did NOT think«Hmmm… Brunswick, Georgia. I bet they have GREAT Thai and Asian fusion places!» But I do love surprises! Basil was an incredible experience from the front door, to my ice cream. Recent renovations make the restaurant look absolutely stunning, complete with a gorgeous glass wine cellar. It’s not your average Thai food people; this place means business. I’m high maintenance when it comes to food; y’all who read these know! I like Luke warm water, I have celiac, don’t eat anything I’d keep as a pet and I’m pretty particular about my curry! Now I can’t say I wasn’t disappointed they didn’t have massaman when I went, but the world works in mysterious ways and if my second choice. :yellow curry: wasn’t just«sink back in your seat and smile while you chew» good… Then I just don’t know good food. Can’t WAIT to try the massaman. The employees were all friendly and eager to please; some new and a little slow and mixing things up but nothing that couldn’t be fixed easily!(I didn’t want chicken in my curry, there was ice in my water… But hey; I’m an easy going gal!) Even if you don’t like Thai, you have to go! They have spicy chicken Alfredo people! Saw it with my own eyes and thought I was lost… Why are you still here reading? GOEAT!

We happened to stopover at the basil thai and sushi restaurent for dinner while going to orlando. the restaurent is located in a pretty little lively town. The architecture of the building where the restaurent is located is great. however, we found the restaurent to be very dimly lit to our liking. The food had certain highpoints. The fried rice was pretty authebtic. However the shrimp in the fried rice was under cooked. The pad thai, though was tasty. I found the noodles to be a bit over cooked. This did not stop me from finishing the whole thing off quickly and i found thw quantity served to be a little less. The sauces served were spicy and tangy. The staff was courteous. However, the restaurent could work on the service aspect as the food took some time to be served. Overall, it was a satisfying experience.

The only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars is that, in my opinion, there should only be a handful of those per country. Having traveled to over a dozen countries, and most major metropolitan areas in the US, I’m hard-pressed to recall another time when I would have debated a 5 star. All this, in a quaint, blue collar town in southern Georgia? I tried 4.5 but the app didn’t let me or I don’t know how. — Exquisite décor — Clean & inviting(towels in the restroom) — Attentive & pleasant service(Pet, our server, gets 5 stars!) — Sublime food, generous portions — Strong, tasty drinks — Reasonably-priced I was in the area on business for the first time and went to this place because of the Unilocal stars. Folks: I am seriously considering making the 90-minute drive from JAX, on a regular basis! The only 3star thing to mention is the seats in the booth are just a tad stiff; but we barely noticed cause everything else was super! Thanks for a delightful experience!

Tucked in historic Brunswick, this little spot is worthy of one try for sushi aficionados. The fish is fresh and well-cut. Basil Thai and Sushi is obviously straddling a couple of cuisines, and due to the size, it may be in their best interests to pare down their scope. I drove several miles just for sushi — and while it was good, there were only about five roll selections available. Still, I didn’t grade them on what they didn’t have… The Spicy Tuna roll was really delicious, but the«spicy» component was a really fat dollop of sauce on top of the roll. After the first stinging bite, i was able to scrape the majority of dollops off, so maybe a ‘me’ problem. Wait staff were a bit confused, but it didn’t blow my experience. The location is nice if you’re antiquing in the historic district or headed to the causeway toward St. Simons or one of the other islands.
