Of all the rest areas I’ve stopped in through Georgia, this has to be the best one I have encountered on Interstate 95 South.
This rest area has plenty of parking and they were many covered picnic tables for sitting and eating as well. Even though this rest area wasn’t at the state line, it was staffed with a full visitors center. Although I wasn’t looking for something in particular, I told her what the plan was and she gave me a bunch of info for St. Simon’s Island.
Overall, this was a great rest area. If you are passing through here, you should definitely stop in.

Wow. This has to be the nicest and largest rest area I’ve ever been too.
There is tons of parking, lots of covered picnic tables, beautiful landscaping and huge facilities.
I restrooms are in the back of the visitors information center and there are 2 sets of restrooms in case one is being cleaned.
Immediately adjacent to the facilities is the vending area. Prices are a bit high but it’s like a convenience store.
This is a great place to stretch your legs on a long trip… plenty of room to walk.
