Truthfully, I don’t think this company is worth even one star! My boyfriend & I ordered their «100% Topsoil», more like 100% bullsh*t!
First off, the website clearly states that you must mark where you want your soil dumped. So we made a large sign at the foot of the driveway & at the end where we requested the soil be dumped. But the driver saw the first sign & acted like he couldn’t comprehend what the words on the sign said. Then when I went to greet him he said «Can I piss behind your garage or something»? Seriously! Had he chosen to use better vocabulary & not asked to use my garage but my actual bathroom I would’ve felt that was more professional.
But the biggest issue I had with their product was the lack of quality. Instead of being exactly what the site promises (& their picture looks like) our soil is full of mulch, plastic bottle caps & pieces of bags, sharp metal, clay and glass!!! I could’ve compromised on everything until I pulled out two large shards of broken glass– that was the deal breaker. Completely unacceptable!
Since the soil was delivered Sat, I called on Monday (spoke with Tina who was very nice!) to complain about the glass & metal shards. Their receptionist was very understanding & said that this was not the kind of product the company wants to promote… that maybe someone gave us dirt from the wrong pile and agreed that what I had was unprofessional & apologized. However, Tina also said she would get back to me or my boyfriend and it has been 10 days with no response. My boyfriend then emailed the company with a complaint and, again, we have yet to have contact with anyone from Madden Brothers. I am very angry that we purchased over $ 300.00 of really poor quality dirt that is still blocking my garage & that we cant use.
