A hidden gem for those who are from«away». Ray is not only one of the nicest guys, but he provides incredibly fresh meat and produce. The Fish Stew is to die for! He knows locals by name and even what they like.

I can’t say enough great things about The Vegetable Corner! It has been my go-to place for years and years. Teresa makes incredible homemade breads, jumbo fruit-packed muffins, cookies, brownies, scones, turnovers, huge cinnamon buns, delicious breakfast sandwiches on homemade English muffins, homemade soups and chowders, and an assortment of fresh made sandwiches or will make you a sandwich of your choice. She also takes custom bakery orders and does catering. Ray sells only the best PRIME meats and will cut any meat, any way you want it. I love the homemade sausage which comes in many flavors, and the homemade pastrami is not to be missed. I have purchased fish there many times and it is always fresh. They also have an assortment of items made in Maine. I can run in on a Saturday morning without any ideas and come home with bags full for the weekend. Prices are extremely fair and, in many cases, almost too low. Even though I want to keep this gem to myself, I advise you to stop by if you’re in the area and, if you’re renting a place on the islands this summer, stop here and save yourself a trip in to town.

This is a fantastic local store that makes its own baked goods, sells prime quality meats and fish and much much more. And all at supermarket prices. It does not get much better than this.

Great local market plus homemade soups and baked goods, fresh bread and whoopie pies! NOTE: map is WRONG! The Vegetable Corner is on SE corner of 123 and Mountain Road.
