Custom Stove Installations

We had JP of Custom Stove Installations out to inspect our pellet stove and wood fired stove insert. He was able to diagnose our issues on the spot. Due to a severe issue with our 20+ year old pellet stove we bought a new stove from Coastal Farm and Range in Gresham (go there for stoves!). JP picked up the stove from Coastal, installed it without any incidents at our home and also installed a new exhaust kit from the stove up our chimney, including a new chimney top. The installation looks great. No issues. The install took the time he projected. He tested the stove and made sure everything worked right.
Custom Stove Installations was always prompt returning calls and showed up in their service windows. Service was professional and friendly. We recommend Custom Stove Installations with no reservations.

BEWARE! CSI came to our house to inspect our fireplace and did a hasty inspection, misdiagnosing the problem. We sought a second opinion and our fireplace was fixed quickly, without the $ 500 part that CSI quoted. I tried calling them four times and never heard back. I also filed a Better Business Bureau complaint, and they haven’t responded to that either. Terrible customer service, I feel very taken advantage of.

Watch out for this company! The company never completed the job they were hired to do. They were hired to install a outside air kit to a wood stove. The first time they where a no-​show at the site. The second time, they used duct tape to tape a pipe to the bottom of the stove (which did not stick and is an incorrect install. The stove requires an adapter, which they were aware of before hand). They also over charged me more than $ 100. They did refund this amount but only when I brought it to their attention. The third time the company still did not complete the job. They left a completely crushed pipe under the stove that is not attached and cannot draw air. They never ordered the required part for my stove to make proper connections to the stove. This was what they were hired to do. In the end, the company told me to do it myself. Stay away from this company.
