Truly great service, food and draft selection. This is the best bar in Bryan/Clgs I am aware of. Tuesday is great for beer specials. Friday is great for food specials til 10PM. The fish tacos are the best in town. The food and beer are just plain great here. David

Go for the beer, not the food. The beer probably deserves five stars while the food would get just one. The draft beer selection is incredible! They have a ridiculous number of beers on tap and have a rotating selection so there is always something new to try. Go on Tuesdays for half price beer! The food, while amazingly low-priced, isn’t great. I’ve only eaten here once and between myself and the people I was with, we ordered a quesadilla, a BLT, a pattie melt, an order of chips/queso, and fried jalapeños. All of us agreed that next time it would be worth it to just eat at home beforehand.

This place is awesome! My husband and I just love coming here when we are in town. You cannot beat the plethora of beers that they have on tap or the ridiculously cheap happy hour on mixed drinks. The food it ALWAYS good! We have had the fish tacos and they were awesome! The buffalo tacos had a tad bit too much buffalo sauce on them for me but it’s not like it isn’t something that cannot be fixed next time I order. The buffalo wings are cooked to perfection and the French fries are hand cut and cooked when you order them! The salsa taste like they make it there also. Really, for the price and quality of what you get this place is a hidden little gem off the beaten path! I love the eclectic mix of people that we always see here. My husband and I are in our mid 30’s and feel very comfortable here with a more mature crowd! This place is CLEAN! The people that patron this pub make it down right cool and the ambiance is perfect! Day or night you cannot beat it!5 Carney’s for being so rad! I have to say, the old wooden bar and original wood floors give it the final, perfect touch!!! BAM!

And here we are almost a year later again. People say I don’t update my previous reviews enough. I am sorry and I will work on the last 3100. Sigh. In my defense my percentage of review updates on Unilocal is 26.4% which is another global record if you exclude fake accounts with less than 10 reviews each. Yeah I like numbers. And beer and Carney’s Pub & Grill. Carney’s HAS to be the cleanest pub in town. It smells clean in here, it’s like hospital clean. And a great variety of Texas beers. Starting with New Republic(College Station — finally) they span some rare small taps in Texas. Like Chupahopra of Twisted X in Dripping Springs. More than likely the only place in Aggieland that has it. We tried the food, tacos in particular. This is where my wife discovered that she hates anything with«Buffalo» sauce and yeah I have too cause it’s too salty and I should have told her. Wife usually knows best but well… The tacos I tasted were vibrant and an exciting unique recipe. Good value with the chips and salsa included. This place hosts a LOT of events according to their calendar which I had not seen before. This is a more mature crowd which my wife(Asian) detected as 98% white 40’s ish, two Hispanics and 1 Asian(her). See, that’s not being racist as it’s factual, I didn’t say it and we just got back from St Louis that is 53% black. Paying attention to details like that is fun and educational. Demographics are very American and you should not have to tip toe around them. Like Carneys(not because of ages or demographics) but because it’s so clean and comfortable with a great selection of beer, nice talented crew that can keep a lot of people happy at the same time and the community involvement. Carney’s Rocks.

This is our second visit to Carney’s. It’s awesome. If you are a beer person. This is the place to be in the BCS area. Food is great. A wide variety of beer choices on tap. $ 3 Guinness everyday. If you like the pub atmosphere, food, and of course beer. This the only place to go. Carney’s is our favorite place to be!

As good as it’s been said. It’s a hole in the wall, but that’s what gives it the cool allure. Great beer selections. Great specials. Surprised folks aren’t lined out the door. I am here on a Tuesday, so maybe more packed on weekends. I stand corrected, it’s getting packed on pint night.

What a fantastic place! I went here for the first time tonight and was greatly impressed. Fantastic food and a terrific selection of liquor and an even better selection of beer. A very chill environment and a good mix of older and younger guests. Try this and you won’t be disappointed!

Almost every Tuesday night for the last 3 ½ years me and my group have been taking advantage of half price drafts and great burger/fish tacos/chicken strips/BLT(with lots of Bacon) etc. The staff is amazing(the bartenders actually know about the beer they are pouring). They keep their beer selection rotating which I find very good — there is always a new beer on tap.

One of the biggest and best beer selections in Brazos valley. They even have a hand pump for cask conditioned beers, which they change out regularly. Amazing drink specials every day of the week. Super chill cozy atmosphere but the place is huge! I love that it’s off Northgate & has free parking. Attracts a more mature crowd in my opinion, including working professionals, locals, and grad students. Free darts and shuffleboard and cheap pool. Trivia nights are fun. Nice patio to sit on during good weather. This place is my new favorite bar in Bryan/College Station hands down!

Killer beer on tap and Tuesday is half price… yes please. Wouldn’t have thought they would have such a good selection of beer. Only had chips and salsa and was tasty. Other items look good as well. Looks to be good quality pub food. If there is such a thing. According to my friend they have added to the outside seating. A plus in my book.

Oh man. This place. Punch your ticket, ’cause you’re gonna get blasted! This is a college bar. More so, it’s an Aggie bar. It may take its’ mail in Bryan, but College Station is right there, and it’s the college students that pay the bills to this place, and have been doing so for decades. The drinks are cheap, as they should be, the money and beer flows back and forth. I love this place. I wonder if the carvings I left behind are still visible. I burned them into the table I spent hours at, until my car keys(the makeshift carving tool) were white hot! I LOVE Carney’s! I LOVE Bryan!

My 100th review and first review as elite. ;] Carney’s is easily one of the things I miss the most about being in Texas. When you’re there, you don’t realize how nice it is to be getting a beer for so cheap, great servers, and a lot of good people in a relaxing environment. When I got to Miami and saw beers going for two to three times the price of what I was paying at Carney’s I wanted to die. That’s not even to mention being surrounded by Miami«chusmos» yelling at people across the bar while spitting their Corona into your ear. This place has a mellow divey atmosphere(less sketch than Ptarmigan Club down the road), pretty decent food and great servers. The servers here are easily some of the best. Very knowledgeable in beer. When I’m paying nine bucks for a beer that taste half decent I can’t help but look back to Carney’s and reminiscence. Studying over a quick BLT and a beer with my laptop(they have wifi). Go on Tuesday for beer so cheap you’ll feel you’re robbing them(tip well). They have other nice specials like half off the food on certain days but Tuesday is the day to go. TL;DR? Cheap Beer, Nice Selection

I’ve been to Carney’s several times for after-work meetups, and it’s a comfortable place. There are usually a handful of people there, talking easily over the background hum. It’s clean and the bartenders are pleasant enough. The selection of beers(and a hard cider or two) is pretty good and changes regularly. I haven’t tried the food, but it looks fine. There are a few issues. Usually a single bartender is on duty and she often gets overwhelmed for brief periods. Sometimes the bartenders don’t know how to make certain drinks… even ones that Carney’s is promoting at the time. If there are many people the noise is too loud for me and there aren’t any sheltered booths to block out the sound(though there is an outdoor patio). But these are relatively minor points; it’s an easy/comfortable place to hang out for a bit.

Best bar in town by a long shot. I am a beer snob, and in a town where many bars pride themselves on having both Bud and Miller, this is heaven. Loads of great beers on tap from around the country, with a great selection of the best beers made in Texas. The bar tenders know their stuff and can describe every one of them intelligently. Don’t like beer? They have the best margaritas in town as well! The food is excellent bar food, and the staff are all fantastic.

I go to out once a month(at least) with a long-established group of friends, and we talk about where we’d like to meet up for drinks. We’ve been hanging out for years. So where do we go? We want a place that can accommodate our varying tastes for drinks — overwhelmingly tap beers. We want a place where we don’t have to shout over the other noise in the place. We also want a place that’s got other people — ambience. We have been at other places, but we settled on Carney’s, and all of us are really happy with the choice. Nothing with us is ever set in stone, so we re-evaluate. But we’ve been at Carney’s for 6 or 7 months now, once a month, and it’s the best place, by far, we’ve been. Why? The selection of tap beers is great and getting better. Now, if all you care about is a cold glass do Coors-Bud-Miller light, you don’t need to come to Carney’s; any place will do. Go to The Tap to Ozona or wherever. But if you want a great selection of American beers that ranges all over and changes with regularity, then Carney’s will keep you interested. It keeps me and my friends interested, to be sure. For example, they recently added Honker’s Ale from Chicago. They also have the full selection of the amazing local Karbach beers, all on tap. Awesome stuff. On Tuesdays, pints are $ 2. Wow! That’s close to free. In sum: If you’re in BCS, and going out to a non-Northgate place with a group of people whose tastes in beers will vary, Carney’s is sure to please. It’s hard to imagine that my group of buddies and I will find a replacement soon.
