Oooo my God what kind of hell is this. I feel my tax dollars just being tossed away. Hours of waiting. Looks like they have 8 people working in the back, but only one person get done every 15 – 20 minutes.
If at all possible you should make the drive to any town. A trip to Dallas to get your stuff done would be faster.

Sorry to be the one to have to break the bad news to you, but if you live in College Station and need license service, like a new license or renewal, the nice close, local office just into Bryan is now closed. Apparently the State thought it would be best to close the location closest to Texas A&M University and require people to have to drive way the frack out here into the boonies. And yeah, it’s hard to get to. I have been driving for 30 years and couldn’t figure out how to get to this damn thing. You can see it from the freeway, but getting to it is another matter as you have to drive way past it, turn around, go down some different roads that are not very clearly marked, then drive down a one way feeder that should be two ways… Sigh…
The new location looks and feels to me like what a jail may look and feel like. It’s made of bricks, cold as a meat locker inside, no windows that you can see out by a masterpieces of architectural design, the windows are like 30 feet up the walls so you can’t see out or in. It reeks of bleach and as you might expect the service fucking sucks. To get in line you have to wait outside early in the morning (even in the rain with no cover) and when the door opens all of the driving tests are snatched up within the first hour of standing in line waiting for one single frustrated lady trying to help like 300 people.
My suggestion, forget this nonsense. Take a drive out to a tiny Texas town like Livingston. You can actually take the 1 and a half hour trip up to Livingston (about 150 miles away) and be able to take your drivers test without the massive frustration and incompetence to be found here at this brand new building that your taxes paid for.
Oh and another thing. The old location on the edge of College Station has a rail that you can see when doing your parallel parking. Here, not only is there no rail, (see photos) but you can’t see anything because they have the parking slot next to an open wooded area. Very unfair configuration. Trust me, go to another city in a small town, you will save time and frustration, not feel like you are in a jail building and you can find much better and fairer friendly staff and places to try to pass your test, than here. (Try Livingston Texas, seriously)…
