A few of us stopped by this place the other night for First Friday. It’s quite a quaint lilt art gallery. I love that it’s filled with the works of local artists, all of whom are exceptionally talented. On First Fridays, they bring in musicians, host local artists, and create a great environment to spend an evening with friends. They do sell a variety of pieces — paintings, stationary cards, prints, jewelry, etc. A pack of cards definitely caught my eye, but just a heads up, they are a little pricier than you would expect for similar goods elsewhere. But then again, they are much rarer and more unique. I think a pack of six or seven cards were about $ 15. So, not insanely pricey, but definitely a little more than I would expect to pay. There’s such a great diversity of artwork — you’ll definitely find something wonderful that suits your taste.

I’ve never had anything framed here, but I’ve purchased many beautiful gifts from their pottery selection and am thankful for the contributions this institution makes to the community. Always an important place to stop on First Friday excursions!

I’m going to go ahead and give this place five stars, even though I’ve never personally had anything framed there. My man has, and his pieces are beautiful, but I’m basing my opinion on two things: Greta, the owner, and the gallery itself. Greta’s terrific. She’s super-nice, throws a great First Fridays party and was so freaking thoughtful when I had a broken wrist and needed help getting my art to her gallery. The art offerings are eclectic in style and diverse in price-range, and she has a good eye for variety and talent(if I do say so myself). She has a super staff, who are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, and I will steer as much business as I can her way because her Mom’s nice, too. Greta is a driving force in the Bryan art scene, helping bring in and keep new talent and hosting a monthly First Fridays scene that is vibrant and vital to this area. Please support local business, and get out and help First Fridays!

It’s almost embarrassing to have had an apt in College Station for 3 years and having never gone to First Friday in Historic Downtown Bryan before. But I don’t think we are going to miss another one. It’s a lot of fun. Everyone we talked to on the streets were telling us to make sure to stop by the frame shop. Which we did. Only to discover that one of our friends has a hidden talent he never mentioned. Singer/Songwriter-Ian Nelson was performing live with a guitar, harmonica and a great voice. There was also a jazz band playing, kids dancing, and something I was pleased to find, a cash wine bar where I was able to get a nice Cabernet or Shiraz served in a proper wine glass. Lot’s of art on display, even free finger foods. Really fun place.

Okay, so you’re probably wondering why a frame place is getting such high reviews, right? Maybe it is because it is so much more than just a frame gallery! They have all sorts of artwork available to buy, helpful(and knowledgeable) staff, and a great location. They also help start the First Fridays in downtown Bryan which is a great way to get to know the local community. For this event each month, they host local artists and their work with live music(usually jazz or blues). This is a great way to spend your weekend or visit on a «normal» day to get your diploma framed.
