The Camera Shop in Bryn Mawr was not customer friendly. In fact, they told me to go to CVS rather than help me! Whatever happened to the customer is always right? I ordered on-line last night some prints of my daughter’s wedding photo but mistakenly sent the unedited photo. Realizing my mistake I was unable to cancel it on their website. So I called at 10 a.m. as soon as the shop opened the next day but was they could not help me. Amazingly, they told me I should go to CVS in the future. Wow! And here I was trying to support local businesses!

I need my passport photo in a hurry since I was leaving the country for vacation. I went to the CVS in Ardmore but I didn’t believe that the quality of the photo would sufficient. So, as I was driving by on Lancaster ave, I noticed this camera store. I quickly parked my vehicle and walked in. Let me tell you, the staff there are extremely friendly. I showed them the picture and they did agree that the US government would not accept the photo. I took a photo there and I was done in less than 20 minutes. Now, I have my passport and I am ready for my visit in London. Thank you Camera Shop.

The best of the best! You can’t beat the knowledge and skill of the employees here. They do it all! I have had my Christmas cards done here. I have also had photos printed on items and old photo restoration done here and I am beyond satisfied!!!

The service here at the camera shop is outstanding!!! Not only did they meet all the deadlines set forth, but all the photos that I purchased were top notch quality. All staff members are exceptionally helpful and I found that they have a wealth of information. Also, they have classes to get you started if you are starting new hobby in photography, as I am. Uncertain why other consumers are offering a 1 star rating when clearly, this is a five star establishment. When it comes to cameras, photography, and photos, I will not shop anywhere else than the Camera Shop in Bryn Mawr.

I have used them for photo services for funerals three times in last 4 years. They could not be more accommodating or helpful for these very time sensitive requests. Highly recommend

Typical Mainline shop. Old with no parking and way overpriced. I like helping small local businesses stay open but their prices are ridiculous. Side note: The staff was nice and they have a decent selection.

The Camera Shop gets 1 star for the tall guy who gave me my money back for poorly executed passport photos. Their website clearly says they do international passport photos. Since my Dutch passport was due for renewal, I gave them a call to verify the information posted on their website. The guy on the phone confirmed. I walked in a few days later. The guy who took my photo double checked the requirements for Dutch passport photos. He said it was $ 60 for 4 photos, which I thought was extremely expensive, but I needed the photos and so I agreed. The next day I picked up the photos(they said it’s usually the next day pick up). When I got back to my car I checked the photos and thought, «Hmm, something’s really off!» I couldn’t really put my finger on it, but to me it seemed I had never had a passport photo like this before. I went back in and asked the guy if they were really going to be accepted, as I had my doubts. This middle-aged guy, grey hair, not too tall and muscular, was not too interested in my concern and assured me they would be fine and accepted by my consulate. A few days later… I drive from Philly to NYC to renew my passport. The lady at the counter says my head on the photo is way too small. She checks with 2 of her colleagues, who agree. I’m sent to a photo shop down the street to have new photos made. This tiny shop charged me $ 15 for 2 photos, meaning The Camera Shop in Bryn Mawr is twice as expensive! The quality of the photos of this NYC tiny shop were way better. A few days later again… I want my money back for 4 passport photos that I can’t use for anything. My husband offers to come with me. The same middle-aged, grey haired guy who couldn’t care less about my concern was there. We explained the situation; however, he just kept on coming up with excuses to not give us our money back. He made it seem as if it was my own fault! It came to the point where me and my husband raised our voices, clearly letting other customers in the shop know we were angry and didn’t agree with this business’ customer service. It took about 15 minutes of arguing about something that seemed so obvious, before a tall guy came out from the back, asking us for the photos and immediately taking us to the counter to arrange a refund. We were thankful someone finally helped us! My advice to this shop: do not advertise a service if you’re not sure you can deliver. If you make a mistake, acknowledge it and offer a refund. It’s totally OK to fuck up, it’s not OK to pretend that you didn’t. Yes, it’s really that simple! My advice to customers: take your money elsewhere. This shop is hopeless!

Disappointing passport photo service. I came here to have my photo taken for my non-US(UK) passport. The price was outrageous($ 60), and on top of that, the photo was rejected by the UK passport office. Total waste of money, do not get your passport photo taken here.

I just stopped in to get an idea of what to do when I dropped my camera. They fixed it within a minute completely free of charge. I offered him a tip as I’ve always been taught to do in such situations. He politely declined twice. Amazing service and I’ll be a customer for life now.

Are you serious with your prices!!! My girlfriend and I recently got engaged in NYC and afterwards we went to dinner and the waiter made a huge deal of it. He took two photographs and had them printed out right there on the spot. We wanted to have copies made and came here. They were going to charge $ 10 just to scan it, and $ 3 for each copy made. Anyone that needs photos copied just go to Target or Walmart. No wonder places like that go out of business. Can’t wait to drive by and see another bank or McDonald’s.

I’ll make this as brief as possible– Recently and suddenly, I lost my father at the age of 61. Beside myself with grief, I walked into the Camera Shop, with BAGS of old photos. Some of which were in horrendous condition. They were in no kind of order, and these people helped me put together a slide show and frame over 25 photos. Nick, who retouched the photos, did a fabulous job. I will only ever go back to the Camera Shop for any repairs to old photos. They’re true professionals

Superb customer service, friendly staff make the high prices worth it. My family has been customers of the Camera Shop for many decades. I’ve become a regular since I am now an amateur photographer. Their staff are very knowledgeable and friendly and the owner’s daughter often brings her super cute dog to work. The prices are inevitably higher than what you will find at Wal-Mart or some other big box discount chain, but the quality of the products, great customer service make it worth the extra money. They have been owned by the same family for 80 years making this a great alternative to the corporate owned monstrosities that are putting fine stores like this out of business. They offer everything from developing conventional film, darkroom supplies, the latest digital cameras including ultra-premium Hasselblads, framing and mounting, tote bags, tripods, and much more. They also can assist with digitizing videotapes and conventional reel films onto DVD. This is outsourced, but the work done is incredible. I will continue being a customer until either they or I cease to exist

While the photo developing is a little on the pricey side(though well priced for professional photographers), the service at this place couldn’t be better. They’re SO nice and helpful. My pictures always come out beautifully, and they also have a great custom framing department. I went in looking for an odd-sized matte for a picture, and they cut one for me in minutes – for $ 7.

So I tried to get a deal on a camera from Dell, but they put it on back order, and I need a new camera in time for a friends wedding in 2 weeks. I looked everywhere I could think of, and no online stores could get the camera to me in time, and no brick and mortar seemed to carry it. I was planning on stopping in here because I’ve been buying most of my film from here for years. So on a whim, I decided to check if they had the camera I was looking for, which they did. I popped in one day to make sure they had one in stock, and to actually play with the camera. I didn’t have to wait long for a salesperson, and despite there being a few people in the store, felt like I was getting his undivided attention. I never felt like I was being pressured into buying this rather expensive camera, and he was honest about its features and limitations, which I already knew from online research. I told him I needed to make sure I could cancel my online order, and sleep on it. The next day really sealed the deal, as he recognised me as soon as I walked in the door, and came right over. I also picked up some film, which to be honest is a little pricier than some of the online deals, but I’d rather not ship film. I will definitely be back here for other photo needs.
