Loved this place. The women working there were very friendly and welcoming. I got a blt w/fries and a coke, my friend ordered a mushroom/swiss burger w/fries and a coke, and we split an order of hot wings. Our total was under $ 15. The food was great and satisfying, we were stuffed!

We were in the area on a motorcycle trip and we were fortunate enough to make this our lunch stop. Fast and friendly service. Burgers and fries were awesome!

(Now called«Kelly’s ‘On The River’») *This building is lodged in a unique place, between the highway and the river, making it accessible to all while also offering a quick glimpse at nature* PROS: * bathroom * a large variety on the menu * surrounded by nature * accessible * very nice staff * great food CONS: * no indoor seating * limited seats outside My family and I had just gone white water rafting and knew that afterwards we’d have to grab a bite. We were starving. So we looked around at our options. While there were many restaurants surrounding the large river, we chose Kelly’s. The building is small on the inside and out. However, it holds the feel of a home(as opposed to just a house), making customers feel welcome and warm. There is no seating inside, however, which forces buyers to either sit outside or take their meals to-go. This wouldn’t be a problem if it were spring or fall. During summer, though, it gets quite hot. Additionally, there aren’t many stools outside so some may have to stand. The wait is a little long for the food, but there’s plenty to do in the meantime. If you walk down the hill you’ll reach a body of water full of smooth stones and lots of beautiful insects. While we were there we saw about four butterflies, just dwelling on the rocks. There was also a mother spider carrying eggs on her back. The food is definitely worth the wait. I ordered chicken tenders with a side of fries and it was delectable. The tenders had a nice and thick batter which made them crunchy and flavorful. The fries were a perfect crispy yellow, which also tasted awesome! The staff is super nice, as well. They ran out of salt and one of the employees found a big jar of it and poured some in a little container for me. Sweet. To top it off, they had a bathroom. I thought they wouldn’t since the place is a little small, but they proved me wrong! It’s very well kept and they had a cute thing of soap that plays music when you press down on it. I rated this place four stars and not five only because of the seating. If there were some more seats, I’d give them a full five stars.

It’s now called Kelly’s by the river. Had a very good Ruben sandwich today. Limited seating outside on porch but food is good.

Please ask for the chili burger with all the dressing and the sweet potatoe fries, also the bacon cheeseburger is amazing. The patties are moist and flavourful, the owner is Vietnam vet who’s fixing your order and the cashier is super friendly as well.

This place is literally next to a mountain stream and nothing else… There’s just street, water and woods… But you know what’s inside? Some people that know how to make a delicious burger! The traffic was constant the entire time we were there… People stopping by to pick up orders, a couple of couples stopping in to eat on their only seating(nice porch with basic barstools and a fashioned railing/bar situation to place your goodies)… I heard that there was a view of the stream and you can see it when you’re walking toward it, but you have to sit on either end of the porch if you want to see it while you eat… That’s clearly not a deal breaker, though… Okay, I have to go ahead and get this out… We ordered chili cheese fries to split… It wasn’t that horrible cheese sauce, it was actual shredded cheese… That was the upside… The downside is that they apparently don’t have a way to melt the cheese, so they just stick the chili on top of it and hope that melts it… lol Now, I get it, but still… I mean, stick it under a heat lamp or something… Blowtorch even? I know, that’s extreme, but you know what I mean… It just felt like it wasn’t finished… I went with a traditional bacon cheeseburger and I was very happy with my selection… The burger was hand-patted and the toppings didn’t get the burger all messy… They also toasted the bun, so that was nice… The boyfriend got the most monstrous situation I’ve seen in a while… The triple cheeseburger… Omigosh, I’m surprised he made it off the barstool… That thing was huge! According to him, it was pretty good as well…(Based on watching him eat it, I believe it must have been much better than that… lol) The locals in the place and the workers were all incredibly nice which made for a fun and friendly environment… The food came out quickly and the burgers were awesome… Fries were just okay, but still edible… The long and short of it is if you’re in the area, definitely get down to the Basket… It’s worth the drive!

Great burger and fair prices. We had been zip-lining and were quite hungry and so I was very happy that this place was close by and had good reviews because we had a short time before our rafting trip. They didn’t disappoint.

One word: YUM! I was in the area for a business trip, and decided to go for a drive to see what was around. After many miles and half an hour of motoring, I stumbled upon the Burger Basket. My decision to stop in was a 50⁄50 between my love for burgers and the fact that it was lunch time and this was the first food serving establishment that I had seen in hours. The place is small. So small that there isn’t any seating inside, and there are just a few stools along the railing of the front porch for those who are looking to «dine-in.» When I arrived on a Saturday afternoon, there were two small groups of people waiting for their orders outside. I made my way inside and saw a simple menu of burgers, hot dogs, a chicken sandwich, fries, etc and a small board of specials was leaning on the front counter. The smell of burgers was amazing as a woman cooked on a cooktop right in view of patrons. I opted for a simple double cheeseburger with lettuce, ketchup and mayo. It was TODIEFOR! The fries were also scrumptious since they were covered in a garlic powder that made them unique and tasty. If you’re in the area, plan some extra time to stop in and support a small shop that makes some excellent burgers.

Good burgers & fries, but the place lacks some basic restaurant needs. This place is totally in the sticks, so there’s really no competition. Went here with family who all enjoyed the burgers & grilled chicken sandwich. I had a few bites of my son’s grilled cheese, which was fine. Fries were excellent — nice and crispy. However, the place needs tables & should add more seats. They only have stools on their open-air porch, so not a place to hang out. It’s a very small building. However, pick-nick tables could easily be placed outside in the flat creek side area. Also — there needs to be a water dispenser on the soda machine so you don’t have to wait through an order line to get water.

Can’t believe nobody has reviewed this place big you are trapped at the NOC break away from the on campus restaurants and get lunch here. Not the best food you will ever have but as good a fried burger as you will have
