Like taking the Wayback Machine to 1923!!! This is a great old, nostalgic hotel. Very deservingly on the National Historic Register. This is old cool. We had a great time. Friendly people. Big rooms all with private baths. Comfy beds. We definitely slept well. No a/c, but we didn’t need it up in to mountains. The pool is very nice. The front porch and rocking chairs are outstanding. Our rate included dinner and breakfast, and was a good value considering the nice steak and prime rib dinners available on the dinner menu(there were plenty of other choices too). Good bar and pool table. A very relaxing, peaceful, old cool place. I am confident we will return again and again.

If you’re looking for something rustic, this is definitely the place. There was no air conditioning, no tv and we showered in a claw-foot tub with a moldy shower curtain from about 1983. The bed was extremely hard and you could hear every guest in the place through the walls. Sinks are in your room and you won’t see any modern hotel amenities like a hair dryer or fridge and wall sockets are hard to come by(we had to unplug our sole lamp to charge our phones.) the staff was very friendly and they keep boardgames in the common room for entertainment but I still got the heebie jeebies from the place.

This review is about the restaurant only. The open dining hall features a large stone fireplace. If there are just two of you, you can get one of the four-tops by the fire. First off, everyone was friendly and helpful. The bread service were mediocre rolls like you’d get at a low end cafeteria, but they did have real butter. The white and somewhat green salad leaves were dry for an overall ‘just ok’ salad. Good homemade blue cheese dressing though. As Paul G pointed out it is one price for salad, soup, entrée, and dessert. The soup was corn chowder. One of my favorites usually, this one had many large pieces of potato. Potato soup with corn would be a more accurate description. We tried three entrees: Trout Hugo, Trout Lillian, and the prime rib. I sampled both the trout dishes. Neither was exciting, but the people who ordered them enjoyed them. I did think for the price paid for the trout it should have included both sides instead of just half the fish. The prime rib was excellent. Each meal included rice with almond slivers, cooked apples, and pole beans. Each served family style(which means one dish of each per table). The portions were small, but I’m certain they would have brought more had we asked. Dessert was included. The had three types of cobbler. We had the blackberry, and it was by far the best of the desserts. We also had the blueberry with cream cheese icing cake. I think this dry dessert was actually out of an Entemann’s box. The other dessert we sampled was a lemon chess pie. It also had a very«out of the box» quality about it. In short. The people and ambiance make the place a 3.

Didn’t stay at the Inn but did eat at the restaurant. Four courses for one price. I had the Prime Rib for $ 28.00. The food is awesome and very filling. We had a steak, and two trout dishes, all were excellent. Sides were family style(baked apples, mac and cheese and lima beans), as well as bread. We each had a different dessert, all were very good. Great friendly service and the bar area with pool table was great for a few beers before we ate.

Love it, love it, love it. Very cozy. Doesn’t at all feel like a «Inn», but rather more like you are staying with some family. We went in the off season, so most everything was closed. We still really enjoyed our time there. The rooms are very nice and clean. I’m totally in love with the bath salts and soaps they have. Just a really nice place.
