Fuller’s Clear Lake Resort & Camp

What a gem. We stumbled upon this campground when the dunes were full. The grounds are very clean and well maintained.
We rented a pontoon and had a great time circling the lake. Mark was extremely friendly and welcoming. This will be our go to spot from now on!

Spent a holiday weekend here. Camped out toward the back of their sites, «primitive» area.
Overall, a pretty nice place. Staff was pretty friendly, though mostly younger teens and maybe some early 20’s.
They have a firewood delivery service which is pretty nice and reasonably priced.
The lake has kayaks available, but there isn’t much to explore so it got boring after a bit. I think we did an hour and were satisfied. There were a few nice benches along the beach to sit and relax. Their store seemed to have a decent selection of items if you forget anything.
The showers were OKAY. Mostly what you’d expect but the «hot» water was really cold. I don’t think I showered the last day because it was too cold to deal with. They we’re clean and closed off, but they are pretty far from the tent camping area.
The tent area bathrooms are potto potties. Which, can really only be so good. They were stocked with supplies but obviously they’re still gross. Try and use bathrooms near the lake if you’re able.
I’m not sure if they had a septic tank issue, or what, but the store smelled like a roadside bathroom that had been abused. It wasn’t like that when we first arrived though, so I don’t think it’s a persistent issue.
The RV area was pretty crowded, so if that’s your style beware.
TL;DR it’s a good affordable camp area. Nothing too fancy, but you can have some fun.

Everything about my previous review stands, but I wanted to update it since we have been back 4 or 5 times already this summer.
The drive is less than 2 hours from Chicago, this place is fun and peaceful, and people are nice and friendly. It is my go to weekend spot.
My favorite part of this place is the beach. The lake is small, so the water is a lot warmer than Lake Michigan.

First visit and happy with the place. We did tent camping. Many of the sites were on different elevations on a hill which created a feel that the tents were farther apart. Nice tree canopy. Things to note:
Clean shower house and bathrooms.
Nice small beach on a small lake with charcoal grills available for use.
Sand volleyball court that was lit at night
Beach was raked/​graded in the morning.
The store was pleasant with ice cream cones, items for sale that you may have forgotten, free coffee and hot cocoa, places to sit and play games, and a nice overlook of the lake.
Nice park for kids.
Seemed to have entertainment because I heard karaōke from the barn.
Downside: not close to anything really (about 25 – 30 minutes from Warren Dunes) and the fire rings are too small.
Overall, I intend to camp there again on the next visit to the Dunes.

I just camped here for the first time and it was great! Tons of activities, especially for kids. We played sand volleyball and baseball. We took the kids on a scavenger hunt, swimming, and a particularly awesome hay ride. The sites have power and running water. They provide an all around great family camping experience.

What a great find just an hour and a half from Chicago. This resort and campground actually dates back to the 1800’s and has a long history of hosting families, couples, and corporate groups for weekends, long weekends, and more.
Situated on Clear Lake, it is beautiful. Not a huge lake (80 acres), this is ample size for fishing, tooling around in a pontoon boat or rowboat, paddle boat, or canoe. It also has a great beach area that is 400 feet long and plenty of space for making sandcastles, playing beach volley ball, or laying out.
If you have kids you will love Mark’s hayrides and the karaōke in the
barn at night.
Mark and his wife (Kirsti) are simply wonderful. You can camp by tent at one of the remote sites, or bring your RV, or rent an RV, or even rent a cottage right on the water.
Next weekend is Sweetest Day weekend here and it is worth the trip. You will really enjoy the Fall leaf color and beautiful scenery, and the nice touches that the resort offers.
Cannot wait to go back, and cannot say enough great things about it.
