Come in around the end of December but most of the restaurant closed of season but the Unilocal didn’t update the information.

Lobster Roll was delicious; LOTs of lobster held together w/a lite amt of mayo, buttered, toasted roll, not too much butter, and a crisp piece of lettuce-worth the price. Slaw was crisp, cold and typical, but good. FF were OK, nothing special. Haddock special, VG, not too much Breading, not greasy. Shaded pavilion. Fast service. Pleasant owner.

My first introduction to Maine cuisine was at Crosby’s in July 2010. I had never been to Maine before and I had just taken Concord Coach from Logan Airport to Bangor. It was five-hour bus ride and I was starving. Not to mention, the humidity did not sit well with me. Needless to say, I was not in a good mood. However, one bite of the lobster roll turned my frown upside down. It was simply amazing. Large portions of lobster on a toasted roll. It’s simple, but delicious. Hands down one of the things I look forward to every time I go to Maine in the summer.

Stopped here after a round of golf at Bucksport golf course. Ordered a dbl bacon cheeseburger and onion rings. Definitely was not disappointed. For a quick drive in food type place the burgers came out steaming hot, along with the onion rings as well. Patties were nice size and they certainly did not skimp on the onion ring portions. Nice place for a quick meal.

Large menu to pick from while taking a break from a scenic road-trip through Maine. It’s not the Hilal food truck in NYC, they serve seafood at market price. Ask what’s on special too. Good: –Milkshakes(thick and/or regular) –Lobster Roll Basket –Fried Clam Baskets –Eating outside at the picnic tables –Food comes out pretty fast considering they are busy –Big portions, you’ll leave full Bad:(none really) –This place isn’t in New York City –Not bad per se, but they don’t accept American Express

I swung by Crosby’s on a tour of coastal Maine this summer and I was not let down. I absolutely must recommend the fried clams(I’d call myself a bit of a connoisseur), they do not disappoint! They are very lightly coated with the most perfect, crunchy(not greasy) batter. These big boys are delicious whole Maine clams, much more pleasant to the palate than their clam strip brethren. My boyfriend tried the lobster roll, which was another HUGE success(size and flavor wise). It was simply tasty lobster with a touch of dressing on the traditional bun. He could not have been more pleased, there must have been a whole lobster in there :) To finish our experience we shared a couple scoops of Razzle Dazzle ice cream and a homemade chocolate shake. This is where my BF is the connoisseur, he knows a good chocolate shake when he tastes one and he was floored! It tasted just like the ones Momma makes :) I’d say that Crosby’s is just the place you NEED to stop into when you’re cruising through Maine :) Oh P. S. There’s a lovely, covered outdoor seating area and a play set for the kiddos! Bring the whole fam…

Finally got to try Crosby’s. It was everything I hoped it would be. Delicious fried Maine shrimp and clams. Portions were more than I could eat and the service was fast and friendly. They had ice cream too but I will have to save that for another time, along with a Maine lobster roll. There was plenty of covered and uncovered outdoor seating.

Based on the last review I am wishing I could go back in time to 2007 when the portion sizes really were HUGE. Visiting the area for vacation, we stopped here for a bite to eat. Checked out the menu and saw they offered baskets in a small and large size. Seeing as both my husband and I LOVE fried scallops we decided to share the large, as it cost $ 17. We got seats in the outdoor picnic area(which was very nice considering we had five active children under the age of 3) and waited for our food. They called our number, my husband brings over our tray opens up the scallop platter, and there were seriously like 6 scallops that were cut in half. Are you kidding me?! This is your large?! We sat for a minute in disbelief. Our friend says«No way is that a large»…so my husband carried our tray back to the counter to ask. My husband: Is this really a large? Server #1: I don’t know let me ask…(asks server #2) Server #2: Um… maybe…hold on…(asks the cook in the kitchen who confirms it is in fact a large) Server #2: Yes this is a large… My husband: so what does your small look like? Both servers:(blank stare) Sigh. It is a shame because the food wasn’t half bad, but was certainly not worth $ 17(unless there was gold leaf inside the fried batter we missed). Although it seems totally possible that they did, in fact, give us a small, as neither server had a clue what the sizes looked like. That would have been more reasonable at ~$ 11.

Classic«Drive-in» fair, with enough grease to slow you down for the rest of the day, and it’s totally worth it. Their basket meals are HUGE, and I personally suggest the grilled chicken sandwich. Don’t forget to get some soft serve!
