Wonder food and service! The portions are so humongously insanely large! I almost want to give four stars because the portions are just crazy, but can you give four stars for too much food, can you? Anyways, been here four times and everything was great. Kung pow chicken, general Taos, and even the curry ball good. Wash it down with a Tsing Tao and it is the complete experience!

The reason that the people go to this place is because all other restaurant is closed. Lao mian is so sweet and the fried rice is too salty. I order scollop but they give me shrimp.

This was the only place for lunch on Memorial Day, and when I ordered Garlic Pork, I found the served stir-fry platter contained Boy Choy — the authentic Chinese cabbage. The food tasted excellent. It was quite a positive surprise to be able to eat an authentic Chinese meal in this little town in the downeaster.

I really enjoy the friendly attentive staff. The food is alright for the area, my kids absolutely love the food. They are fast and the portions are huge. Almost too large if that’s even a fair complaint. Great place and people.

Ming’s is one of the best places for Chinese food in all of Maine. I have been eating here since I was a toddler. I have tried almost everything on the menu, and it is all of the highest quality and taste. Living only 10 minutes away is a plus, but I would travel an hour to get there if I was craving it badly enough.

This is where old cooking oil and the hopes of those of us who are fortunate enough to have access to really good American Chinese food go to die. During a recent visit I had the chance to get dinner for two at Ming’s. The hot and sour soup was sweet, glutinous, and had virtually no discernible pieces of anything in it: only some tiny shredded bits of tofu and a whisper of pepper, very literally no bamboo shoots, no lily buds, no black mushrooms, no green onions, no rice vinegar, and no pork whatsoever – I mean, none. Its base was what looked and tasted like ground beef. It wasn’t hot and sour soup… it was an impostor, and what sad tastes like. Our chicken and broccoli fared just a bit better, but the broccoli was flaccid and languishing in a bland and unremarkable brown sauce. No clean, bright flavors here. The chicken fried rice: here’s where it got ugly. The rice was completely saturated in oil – I mean, copiously – and what tasted and smelled like old or burned oil, at that. There were, again, no identifiable bits of anything in it other than some tiny diced bits of meat. And it was beyond bland. Believe it or not, I’m not that picky – look, it’s Chinese food. But the bottom line: on this night, at least, there was loads of room for improvement.

This place has always been one of my favorites. I used to drive here from Blue Hill or Castine with my friends in high school when we had enough money. I have more than once spent my last 7 dollars on a number 20. I was waiting until I could try it again to write a review. On my last trip home, I was looking forward to going to Ming’s again almost as much as I was looking forward to eating lobster. When I did stop by they did not disappoint. Everything is good. The number 20 is still my favorite, I don’t know what they put in the chicken fingers batter but its sweet and delicious. The dumplings are the best anywhere. You really can’t find chinese food this good anywhere else except maybe P.F.Changs. Maybe.

Looks to be only Chinese in town. Local people very nice. Food just so so. Egg rolls, pineapple fried rice okay, 8 jumbo shrimp horrible, tiny shrimp filleted and covered with thick donut like dough to make them large in size. Better description would be Shrimp donuts.
