Right Choice Home Inspection

Eric is the 3^rd party inspector you need when buying a new home! We were buying our first house (under construction at the time) and had Eric come out as a second inspector apart from the builder’s inspector. Eric took us through all of the parts of our house, informed us on what we should be mindful of in the future, and overall gave us so much more than a cut and dry inspection. While we were having gas issues with the city (not an uncommon issue, so I hear), Eric came out for a second inspection to test all of our gas lines and appliances. He was flexible and professional throughout the entire inspection process. At the end, we received a report with images of all areas that were inspected as well as a list of items for the builder to fix before closing.
Eric is a well informed inspector who really cares about his customers buying a safe home and will go to great lengths to achieve this goal.

When Eric (the owner of Right Choice) came out, he was courteous and polite from the first word to the last. He went around our exterior several times, photographing and checking everything as he went. His interior inspection involved three sweeps of the house, first checking the floor, then the walls, then the ceilings.
He went above and beyond what we expected from a home inspector. In about two hours, he had tested every appliance, our HVAC system, inspected the roof, electrical, plumbing, interior, and windows.
Towards the end of the inspection, he asked us if there were any concerns we had. We had a list prepared, and he showed us where he had already found those things and had photos of them in his report. He even gave us tips to resolve the issues ourselves once our one-​year warranty with Centex had expired.
He also offered his direct number to call if we ever had any questions about our home.
Within an hour of his departure, we were emailed a nearly 30 page report filled with notes and photographs of his inspection, which we were able to send to Pulte/​Centex to have work done.
I would recommend this guy to anyone. Best customer service experience I’ve had with any company in many years.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. I’m in the process of buying my first home, and don’t know much about house-​y things. Eric with Right Choice far exceeded any and all expectations I might have had for a home inspector. Besides just being a great guy, Eric was extremely thorough and wonderful in explaining the report to me in dumbed down terms that I understood. Eric not only went above and beyond in the initial inspection, he ended up coming back for a second inspection to deal with a gas line issue. He rearranged his personal schedule to come back a second time. In dealing with getting the gas issue resolved, Eric took multiple calls from me, my real estate agent, and a real estate broker family friend, being a fantastic reference for information and walking me through the process of requesting to get the issues fixed, making sure that I knew exactly what was going on, and what I needed to do to request to have the issues resolved. Eric is not only a fantastic inspector, he is one of those people that you can tell actually cares more about the well being of his customers than he does about making a buck. I felt that he had my back throughout the entire process and really wanted to make sure that I was entering into a good deal, and would feel safe in my home.
I only hope that I have friends and family who will be going through the home buying process in Austin so that I can highly, highly recommend him. Do yourself a favor and use Eric from Right Choice.
