A must have for playing on cold or hot sand… I’m tempted to give them 1 extra star just for getting these things to market such a long time ago and marketing them pretty well so they were available. But that’s not fair to the competition which I’m going to write reviews on shortly as well. I’m a avid beach volleyball player here in CA and have used Sand Socks for a number of years now. They do a pretty good job but they are not the silver bullet. INTHECOLD(Rating 3) They provide just enough insulation from the cold sand to keep your feet relatively warm even on cold evenings playing under the lights. If the sand is a little wet they don’t perform quite as well because they don’t keep out the moisture quite as well as I wish they did. The issue here might be that they need to let out the moisture too, but I’m not the engineer dealing with those issues. Just looking for a miracle product. ;) INTHEHEAT(Rating 3.5) Again they provide just enough insulation from direct contact with the hot sand so that you don’t burn your feet. They do a good job of letting heat out as they breathe pretty well. They don’t keep out all the sand however. Plan on pulling them off and emptying out the sand between games. WHATTHEYNEEDTOIMPROVEON These things don’t last! They tear very easily and retain smell unfortunately.(not that my feet stink, right) They should look at some of LuLu Lemon’s technology in those areas IMO.
