We came in for a 2nd time. The 1st time the food was decent, service was poor, but we thought maybe it was an off day. Came in again for Sunday lunch. Waitress was friendly, but slow to get our drinks out to us and very slow to refill the water. The man who brings the food to the table has always been really nice, not sure if he is the cook or not. Food took a very long time to come out which is what happened last time. We weren’t very impressed with the food this time around either. Salsa was decent but chips were kinda stale and super buttery which we don’t like. flauta was soggy bc it had been sitting in sour cream and guac, which should have been to the side, not right underneath the flauta. chimichanga was about average. had way better other places. we wont’ be coming back here, unless we try something to go, but not even sure if we will do that.

We came because of good Unilocal reviews so maybe it was an off night but the service was so poor and slow… our meal showed up 45 minutes after ordering it and we didn’t get our drinks until our dinner arrived. Unfortunately when it did, mine(chicken soup and chicken tacos) was cold — not even room temperature. My fiancé’s was cold too but he ate it, I couldn’t. They did take mine off the bill after I asked them to but it was a waste of an evening and I left hungry.

Great environment, the food is not very good at all! Just average. I won’t eat there, but I will go out to have drinks. Service is great, and sometimes on the weekends they have a live band.

Food was OK. Nothing special but filled me up. Sat outside since it was a beautiful day. Unfortunately, that means I was forgotten by the wait staff… I would come here again, but probably not bring a guest to show them a prime example of the Mexican food that Austin has to offer.

My friends and I met up here tonight to catch up. Let me start by saying their salsa is so good! The stuffed avocado was full of chicken! Yum. It was our first time here. Never again! We chose it because it’s «pet friendly». They allow pets on the patio but that’s as friendly as it gets. When I walk inside no one greeted me. I didn’t know whether to seat myself outside or wait. So after many awkward looks my way, I finally asked. They said to go ahead outside. The tables and chairs were covered in dirt. Yuck but not a big deal. It’s outside after all… I sat.(We had 3 adults and 2 kids.) Then the female owner came out and said«This table doesn’t accommodate 5 people.» So I awkwardly waited for an invitation to a better table… She said«y’all need to sit over here.» So I got up and asked if it had an umbrella as we had 2 kids. «No we don’t have another umbrella.» Umm ok. So I waited while she wiped the table and chairs.(That was at least nice of her.) our sweet waitress was nice but pulled inside and outside, which was not her fault. She was spread thin. Our 2 kids were driving their cars in the«dirt beds» outside. Sitting quietly and just driving their hot wheels. The man owner came out and yelled at them! «Guys, guys, don’t be doing that! Leave that alone. And y’all need to clean up these toys too, it’s a hazard.» What?! We were literally the only ones out there for over an hour! What do you think pets will do on your patio?! More than just run their hot wheels in the dirt! He could have addressed it politely with us-the adults! Not our 2 preschoolers! Meanwhile the only 2 other couples outside, left! Because they waited but were never served! Good thing they left because nobody ever came out to check on them to even realize they were gone! They were busy inside but it seemed like they were relatives of the owners. So it’s up to you but on a Friday night during happy hour, I’d expect more preparation for the 1 family outside! I’ll never eat here again! They were ugly to little kids and not much nicer to adults!

I heard good things about this place and decided to eat here with my sister since she doesn’t really like Garcia’s. We were the only people there on a Monday night, strangely. The service was great and the food was fantastic! What a nice little gem to have in Buda! We LOVE their chips and salsa! I brought my husband back a few weeks later to have lunch and eat on the patio with our dogs. Again, the service was great! Hector(I think) was our server and was very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and my husband is now a huge fan. It will definitely be our new«go to» place for Mexican food.

This one of my favorite restaurants in Buda. They make a great stuff avocado that I edit to my way. Try it with Fajita beef instead of ground chicken or whatever it comes with.

The food is good… I like the fajitas and their chips and salsa are really good to. Prices are also good. But unfortunately the service is consistently awful. I’ve been three times and each time the service gets slower. Tonight it took probably 15 mins for our drink order to come out and another 30 for our food and we were one of about 7 tables in the whole restaurant. Servers just don’t seem to have a good rhythm and seem poorly trained. Their menu knowledge is lacking as well. For these reasons I won’t be going back.

Went here for late lunch on a Saturday. Waitress was very nice, but my husband and I were one of 3 other tables there(we sat on the patio and the others were inside) and service was slow. Rather slow. Queso appetizer took awhile and then meals came shortly after. Queso was nice, complimentary salsa was more like watery canned sauce. My chimichanga was soft like a burrito, and i doubt fried, but the chicken inside was very well seasoned. «Spicy» ranchero sauce I had on the top(after being told they don’t have suiza, contrary to the menu) was more like marinara that had never seen any peppers. Rice and beans were okay. Hubby’s steak fajita meat was smoked and seasoned soooo well, fell apart in your mouth beautifully. Rest of it was okay. Theres nothing necessarily wrong with the food, but it also isn’t good enough to go back for. Mixed cocktail was very heavy with tequila, but a good price($ 6). The peach and prickly pear margaritas on the rocks were fabulous, though, and only $ 4! Overall it was decently priced food that satisfied a tex-mex craving and allowed us to bring our dog to the quaint patio. Might go back for margaritas if we want to have the dog on a patio, but if it’s just us humans we will go somewhere with more impressionable food.

Delicious food and drinks! We went here after a long day of floating on the river and at about 6PM on a Tuesday we were the only people here. We sat outside on the patio, my only complaint is that the umbrella was broken so the sun was pretty brutal. The free chips and salsa were great, nothing unique, the portions were large, and the drinks were strong. I got the veggie quesadilla, filled with shrooms and spinach and melty cheese. I can’t speak for the rest of Buda, but I would guess this is the best restaurant around.

I stumbled upon this little place through Unilocal and, being a huge Tex-Mex fan, decided to give it a shot. We went around noon on a Saturday and were immediately seated. Our server was excellent and very attentive. The food was delicious(the stuffed avocado my boyfriend ordered looked incredible), and the mixed drinks were to die for. All in all, we got a great meal and paid much less than we were expecting. We will definitely be back!

This was awful. I’ve read reviews. Not one was correct for our visit. Drinks were incomplete and bad. Taco shells were stale. The queso was a fifty cent piece size container and the guacamole was a melon scoop size. Terrible. Do not recommend.

No phone service. No wifi. How am I going to check my Facebook or Unilocal while I eat? ugh. Aside from that, I really enjoyed my «stoner sandwich»! I really don’t understand the concept of the restaurant in general. It’s supposed to be a Tex-Mex restaurant & have all the typical Tex-Mex offerings, but do offer a small selection of «American» items, such as the sandwich I talked about. The theme & décor is what really baffles me. It’s very modern & contemporary inside with Ikea-like touches, & the wall art reflects NYC life & culture, which is unlike any tex-Mex restaurant I’ve been too.

In response to Lexi… have you even been here?(since you WORK at Garcias) I have been here daily for the past several months for lunch and LOVE this place! I consider servers and management my friends! Your review is extremely unprofessional. I love the fajitas and they have a Full Bar! Great happy hour specials. You must have been having a bad day!

Had breakfast, fresh and well cooked eggs, homestyle potatoes, beans. Good salsa and chips, attentive server. Food came out fast and hot. Nicely done facility, very clean. I don’t give it 5 stars because the potatoes were not cooked long enough, and they had no decaf hot beverage options(even if you don’t serve decaf coffee, how hard is it to have a box of peppermint tea on hand?).

I love coming to Super Slick’s! The food is so much more elevated than what you’d find at a typical Tex Mex establishment. Their shrimp ceviche is killer and they absolutely nail their enchiladas and tacos. And I could eat their queso as a meal by itself. Dessert-wise, you can’t ask for more from a Mexican restaurant. Their bread pudding will put you in an absolute coma, not to mention the desserts are constantly changing and the chef is always experimenting with new dishes. Not a dud in the bunch. In addition to great food, the service is always top notch. Carl, the manager, is always friendly and goes out of his way to make your experience a positive one. More than likely, he’ll remember you by name the second time you swing by. Seriously, check this place out! It’s not as far away as you think and you’ll be glad you went!

The food was 4 star… pretty good tex mex. However, the service was 2 star. The staff was very very nice, but just didn’t seem to have their flow down. I do not have a past with the restaurant industry, but my husband said there were some needs for major training. Onto the food, I order some queso, which was pretty good and the small was actually a lot of queso. I think it was around $ 6. They bring out a very small bowl of chips so you’re out of chips quickly, and when your waiter isn’t attentive, that sucks. So we went about 10 minutes with no chips, queso getting cold and empty drinks :( Once the waiter came back he was quite apologetic, but still… We ordered a burrito and cheese enchiladas. Both were very tasty. My husband really liked the way the beef was flavored in the burrito. I had black beans and rice with mine and I ate it all! Nom nom! The atmosphere is kind of bazaar. It’s like it’s a big dancehall with bar that they just threw in some tables. Not very well lit. Overall, I think I will try it again on a weeknight and pray the same cook works that night. #stafftrainingneeded
