Some of the tastiest bagels around. Really delicious sandwiches and not just for breakfast. Yes this is a little hole in the wall and for the pretentious elite, you might be have a problem with that but don’t be silly. All of these one star reviews are ridiculous and seem a little almost«placed». If you are looking for a delicious breakfast or lunch come to Budd Lake Bagel n

The bagels here are best in the area. Hand rolled, not machine rolled. I’ve never had a bad experience here. The place does need updating. Mt. Olive bagels suck. Their bagels are firm and aren’t fluffy.

First time here… don’t think I will be back. The place is dirty. Makes you think what could be on the bagels. The one girl was nice kind of… but the other girl looked like she didn’t like her job, she couldn’t move any faster.

I can not stress this enough! This place needs to be shut down as soon as possible. All you need to do is walk in the door and see all the health violations! The one day I ordered a plain bagel and the old grease money of man was moping the floor right in front of the open counter of bagels and it stunk of bleach and fat he puts the mop down and grabs my bagel with his dirty a bleachy mop hand and puts it in a bag and hands it to me. I was so appalled I have him the dollar that he charged me and threw the bagel right it the trash! He didn’t even seem fazed! I was shocked when I saw they opened another location in Hackettstown! Never get your breakfast from these people.

A waiter at a local restaurant recommend Budd Lake Bagel for«the best bagels» I’m sorry to say he was incorrect. To be honest I would rather have a bagel from a convenience store or Dunkin Donuts. The place was not very welcoming and I experienced very bad indigestion after having their #15 fat Albert sandwich, the sandwich called for roast beef, but I could swear they gave me a steakum instead. The sad thing is, that 6 of us actually got in our car and drove completely out of our way to go there. It was a big waste of time, energy, and money.

This establishment connotes the word«dump» in every possible way. The first impression one can experience with this place, upon driving into essentially the middle of nowhere, is to be greeted by a tired strip mall off of a winding, country road. Once parked, one can enjoy a wave of hot, stale air and a plethora of flies in a visually filthy area containing some chairs, tables, a drink refrigerator, and a deli counter. The bagels are overly dense and chewy and the low quality of the ingredients in which the bagels are slathered can induce nausea and various other facets of indigestion. The confusing menu(with simply too many options) and exhausted employees don’t improve the situation in the least bit. I wouldn’t recommend anyone go out of their way to try this place… but unfortunately, due to the lack of surrounding civilization, one must go out of their way to get here no matter what.

Ugh! Why would you put soggy bacon on a turkey wrap? It’s supposed to be crunchy! Soggy bacon is greasy and doesn’t belong on a wrap with mayonnaise. I took one bite and threw it away. Also, the staff is a bit rude. Try smiling. Oh, and cooking the bacon until it’s done.

We went in once for breakfast sandwiches and it was okay so we went again and got chicken caesar wraps… I started to eat mine but it tasted weird, my boyfriend later saw the chicken was raw. We decided never to order food from there again. I also tried the muffins and they were stale! The people were rude and it seemed everyone picking up food had issues with their orders being wrong. We started going to mt. Olive bagels which is in the shopping strip next to this bagel place and oh my what a difference. The people and owner are all super nice. The food is all amazing, the chicken is cooked!

We went to the new Budd Lake Bagel in the old Golden Skillet in Hackettstown last Saturday, May 9th2015. It was GREAT! We heard a lot about the French toast bagel so we ordered one to share. I can’t get over how wonderful it was. My mouth is watering just thinking about it right now! It was a fresh bagel made just like French toast, hot and buttery with a side of warm syrup for dipping mmmmmm. Then the bagels just got better! I had a sesame bagel with egg salad that came with a small cup of any salad you wanted and a deli pickle. I got the Mac salad and that was so good I could have had just that for lunch! My husband got the breakfast sandwich egg, Taylor ham, and cheese. its was very cheesy. We ate in and all the food was hot and fresh. The inside décor is nice freindly and inviting. Like an old fashion deli. Everything is very clean. The coffee is help yourself. Try the Maple crunch if you like flavored coffee it was great! Be careful the coffee is scalding hot!!! We needed to put our coffee cup inside another cup to handle it. The owner and staff(his family?)are very freindly and helpful. While we were there they were making batches of fresh bagels you can watch them make the bagels! The whole experience was GREAT! We will be back again for sure!

The good: The bagels are very good. Especially early in the morning when they are just out of the oven. As said by other reviewers the French Toast Bagels are a real treat. The bad: The service takes a bit getting used to. The staff can be slow and often makes mistakes when making egg sandwiches. The portions on egg sandwiches are smaller than other places. Overall: This is a better than average place for bagels but don’t waste your money or time if you are looking for anything else.

Best bagel spot in town. Bagels are always fresh, Taylor ham egg and cheese is fantastic! The place doesn’t look too fancy or anything on the inside but it’s still the best bagel spot in mount olive, most people will say so too. Service is always decent and quick. Great variety of bagels and baked goods too.

The bagels were good but the guy that took my order couldn’t get it right. My toasted bagel with cream cheese was not toasted and my Taylor ham egg and cheese didn’t have any Taylor ham on it. How do you screw up that bad?

Agreed with reviews below 4 – 5 stars should not be for this place. I went here a few times while I was at the laundromat. Food is super greasy I also made the mistake of getting bacon on my sandwich. I saw it was precooked on the side not covered so bugs could get to it. Then they slap it on the flat top with a bunch of grease to warm it up and it was all chewy. Think my sandwich was more grease then anything. Better options near by. Mt olive bagels is walking distance that serves way better quality food.

Bagels are okay, seems like they have a nice selection of sandwiches. I made the mistake of getting a sandwich with bacon. The bacon was strips of chewy fat and grease. No meat and no crunch. Definitely very very low quality bacon. Don’t think ill be stopping there again specially since there are other better options near by.

All these 4 – 5 star reviews are not overstating how amazing these bagels are. Sure, the inside of the store is not that impressive, but don’t let that stop you. Bagels are crispy on the outside and soft as freshly baked bread on the inside. They have a fairly standard selection, with a couple of specialty selections(French toast; super cinnamon). Try this place; you will not be disappointed!

Best bagels in town, hands down. There are two bagel shops that are within walking distance from my mother’s house, but the ten minute drive to Budd Lake is so worth it. I used to go to school in PA, and every time is come home I’d stock up on Budd Lake bagels to take back with me. They say that the sure-fire way to disappoint yourself is to go to a different bagel place — and they’re right! I’ll never get a bagel sandwich anywhere else in town.

Best bagels in town! Nice and hot in the morning. My father in law is Jewish and from Brooklyn, so the man knows his bagels. He has given BL Bagels his stamp of approval.
