Aikido is a Japanese internal martial art, is somewhat the same with Tai Chi. They have the same principle such as the power comes from the inside which is the center of the body initiates all the movements. When the force comes from the core, it’s much stronger than from just some parts of the body. That’s why it’s suitable for everybody from kids to women and older adults. Aikido is unique since it’s peaceful and tolerant. We can defense for ourselves without cripple the attacker. To learn more about my view on aikido, you can check out my essay here: I have been around in aikido for a while and have seen other sensei’s aikido. I am proud to say that Nakayama sensei is a real shihan(grandmaster) who is an expert on body movements and he knows how to instruct his techniques to the students clearly.

It is an honor and a privilege to learn from Nakayama Sensei, and not just because he has a 6th Dan in Aikido, but also because he is a great instructor, who can clearly show and explain your mistakes, and help you fix them. He holds his students to the highest standards of Aikido, only allowing them to move up in rank when there’s no doubt they perfected their technique, and there is no sloppiness about it. The assistant instructors(that most often teach beginner classes) are also extremely professional and helpful. I can’t recommend any dojo more highly.

IMO, this is the best Aikido instruction you can find. It is not for profit and probably also the least expensive martial arts training you can find. You can watch Nakayama sensei(the head instructor) in action here: * Prices: Aikido(M, W, Th, Sa): ~$ 68 – 70 for 7 weeks * Location: Classes are offered and held through the City of Buena Park at the Walter Ehlers Community Center, 8150 Knott Ave, Buena Park, CA90620. * Dojo website and link to signup at City of Buena Park:
