This restaurant isn’t closed, they’ve just changed the name. Torch is now called Amaya. Still the same great food, though!

customer service and ambiance were really nice BUT if you are trying to get some good Indian good this is NOT the place. We tried the vindaloo and paneer makhani and they both were horrible. I could taste the tomato paste. Also, I get that restaurants these days use food coloring but this place made it blatantly obvious. I can’t speak for the drinks as I did not have any. In my experience though drinking makes anything taste good so if that is what you are doing then this place works. If you want good food I definitely do not recommend for dine in.

I’m personally not really a fan of Asian fusion restaurants, but I think it’s good for satisfying the different cravings within groups. We were there as a party of 15+ for a birthday. The place was surprisingly empty for a Saturday night, not counting the event(wedding reception?) that took place in the banquet hall. I did like the food, a couple friends said the food was very good — sampled a lot of the dishes since we passed the plates around, family style. I think this was my first time in a while thinking that some servings were actually on the small side. My favorite was the chicken tikka masala. The music playing and live performance(karaōke???) from the reception that was taking place got rather loud, can’t really get annoyed at such a joyous event but for people just having a regular dinner, it is strange to be inundated with all the commotion.

From the outside this place looks really nice, but don’t let that fool you. This place has the worst service I have ever experienced. And i will NEVER be back! Our waiter barely spoke English and had no idea what any of the food was. The place wreaked of bleach from the moment we walked in and We waited almost an hour to get our food. Like some of the other reviews mentioned, they charged $ 4 for an order of rice, and unlike most places, not one of the dishes come with rice. A total rip off! Won’t be returning or suggesting this place to anyone! Can I give less than one star?

warning warning… if you taste buds are intact and you have your rmental and physical faculties still function, stay away from this diabolical gastic piece of mayhem… we had dinner reservations there last night, we were the only party in the estalblishment, the bartender was given the night off, the cook was our waiter and the food was the worst i have ever encountered. please note we ate here two years to the day and it was stellar, not anymore, i had the manager take 4 dishes and entrees off of my bill. the garlic chicken was like chicken soup, the asian nachos were not to be recognized, the orange chicken was stright out of costco… chins here in orange has better faire than the torch, sorry torch but i had to torch you, one of the worst meals in this history of gastronomical eras. no just kidding, it was really reall bad… stay away…

We just spent the day at Knotts Berry Farm and decided to stop at this place because we wanted indian food and because it was on our way home to the 5. I was surprised on how big it was inside, they have a huge room that could fit a party of 80 – 100 on the left side. On the right is actually the restaurant. Nice décor, big tables and booths. When we got there it was empty, only one table was occupied. Our waiter was very nice. The menu is quite interesting, they basically offer a Chinese, Thai and Indian menu. You have to pay extra for the rice and naan bread. I got the paneer with tomato sauce, my boyfriend got the vindaloo chicken, super spicy. Food was good but I think a little pricey.

I just found out that despite an agreement, this establishment decided to add a bar minimum to a previously booked private party of 80 people 2 days before the event. I have never been here not had the 80 people going to the party. What a dumb thing to do. I do not recommend going to a place that conducts business in this way.

The food was out of this world, but the drinks… oh, boy! The«Get Torched» is perfectly named! And the martinis were… so good. The place looks intimidating from the outside, but inside is warm and welcoming.

I had been eyeing Torch for a couple of years now and the stars aligned tonight so that my wife and I could finally eat here on one of our visits to SoCal, without the kids. We were really excited. The setting is beautiful. The service was wonderful. The food however was… well, not good. We ordered Mulligatawny soup, which arrived with our Thai Creamy Curry Chicken and Chicken Vindaloo. I’m certain that the Mulligatawny and Vindaloo were the same dish, in different vessels. There were niether apples or rice in the soup, but I understand that rice is a premium at Torch. $ 4 dollars per bowl, and they aren’t large. We had to order a second bowl, and we left with most of the Thai Chicken on the table. The Thai dish was without all but one Thai elements. I believe it was Chicken cooked and served in Coconut milk, devoid of curry or lemongrass or any of that other Thai magic. The vindaloo, which we ordered spicy seemed to have been doctored up with that chili garlic pepper sauce that you find at Vietnamese restaurants. I like it there, but it seemed out of place in the Indian dish. All in all a huge disappointment, as I had such high hopes for a fusion of my favorite cuisines… And if you want rice with your $ 13 entrees, bring your checkbook! Oh, and I asked if there were any non-alcoholic special house drinks. I was thinking a mango lassi, or something of the sorts. I was offered an exotic tea from India called«Chai.» I passed, as I had several exotic boxes of Stash Chai waiting for me back at the homestead. Sorry Torch, I won’t be back.

My boyfriend and I have been here about 4 or 5 times, and each time has been a great experience. The people have been very friendly, the service has been quick, and the food has been excellent. It’s always empty or near-empty whenever we come, but that’s probably because we come during the week. We haven’t been here on a weekend, or on Monday nights when they have their lounge open, so can’t speak to the atmosphere or service on those days. While people looking for authentic Indian food may find this place a bit lacking, it’s great fusion food, and definitely a good place for someone who may have never eaten Indian food before to try and ease into the cuisine. It’s also a classy looking place, someplace you can take a date to. Shout out to the lead bartender(whose name I forgot, sorry!) who makes a mean drink!

Here’s the low down … Environment: Beautifully decorated Spacious Perfect lighting Nice bar Comfortable seating(booths and table) Overall a nice vibe to the atmosphere … 5 stars for Environment Service Informative Helpful Prompt Friendly Attentive Our waiter was top notch … 5 stars Food Naan was very good — 4 stars Flat bread Thai pizza was good. Peanut sauce was a little overpowering– 3.5 stars Coconut Thai rice was decent. A little mushy-3 stars Chicken Tiki Masala — Pretty good had better-3 stars Lamb Bhuna-Tender, sauce was decent. No complaints-3 stars. Overall the food was in the pretty good range. Have had better, but really nothing to complain about. Conclusion Great atmosphere with professional service. I liked the food, but it was not the highlight. However, if you like a diverse menu, this place is unique in that it offers Thai, Chinese and Indian choices and all are competently prepared. I especially recommend Torch if you have a large group. They do private events to with DJ’s and dancing. 4 stars overall.

Huge restaurant/banquet hall. I’ll be honest I wasn’t too sure about this place from the look outside. It didn’t even seem like a restaurant. I took a trip to Knotts one day and was craving for Indian food after so decided to try this place out since it’s Indian, Chinese, and Thai all in one. I didn’t expect this place to be that great but was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the chicken tikka masala with the coconut rice and a side of naan. The masala was amazing. It was creamy, full of flavor, and most importantly the chicken was moist. Nothing I hate more than to eat masala with some dry chicken. I definitely can taste the fusion between cultures as the masala had a bit of Thai curry taste to it. The coconut rice is a must also as it went perfectly with the masala. The naan was okay but nothing special. Service was so-so as our waiter dissapeared here and there throughout our meal.

Now, I have to state that I was here for a private event, so it will most definitely differ from a regular experience at Torch, and so my review will be of this particular private event. Torch definitely takes some time preparing the food, and I don’t mean that in terms of the quality, but in that they take their sweet time making the food. Dinner wasn’t served til 10, 3 hours after the appetizers were served and gobbled up. And with the time spent preparing it, it wasn’t that great. I only say this because, I’m sure its one of their ploys to make you hungry so you don’t care how the food tastes, you just want to eat. They definitely offer quantity over quality. Other than that, the experience was just fine, loud music, open bar all night, and lots of dancing.

When I passed by this place I was thinking«How weird, they serve Thai, Chiense, and Indian food. It’s probably not a good place.» After doing some searching on Unilocal this placed recived good reviews. The venue itself is really nice when you walk inside and I got the Indian vibe right away. Ordered the Tikka Misala Cheese Naan. It had an authenticIndian taste to it and I must say it is possibly the best Indian food I have had. Cheese naan was delicious as well and cooked to perfection. Too bad this place is so far away from me or else I would frequent here.

As much as I like the owners and the staff here I’m going to have to give this place 3 stars. The ambience and overall atmosphere is great, they have good lighting, great décor, a nice big hall to have a party at but the food is okayyyy. We came here for a Sunday brunch and right away I recognized some of the staff as I use to go to their other restaurant in Anaheim Hills. Anyhow they told us that there is a Sunday brunch with champagne, well I don’t drink champagne and neither does anyone else in my party so it was kinda pointless. The buffett offered some good items however the taste and definitely lacking. Food was warm, the warmers on the buffet table didn’t keep the food hot it was so so. The chicken tikka masala was alrite, I’ve had way better chicken tikka masala elsewhere, the aloo was too salty and the naan should have came out hot it seemed fresh however it seemed like it was sitting outside for a bit before coming to us, I love my naan piping hot fresh out of the tandoor. Overall $ 12.95 for a buffet I hardly even ate anything food was so so. I would have to say the best part was the kheer and the gajrella(carrot) It was sweet however once again it wasn’t warm it was not cold not warm it was ehhh, it tastes best when warm. They should do a better job at keeping their warmers on high or something. I am impressed with the place overall, really great seating and atmosphere but I definitely would not return again. =(

First off, halal! Bottom line: Great ambiance, slightly above average Indian food which is overpriced. Does it add up, you be the judge. Food: 3.4÷5 Ambiance 3.75÷5 Quick Review: Excellent ambiance, freshly opened. The quality of the food was 3.5 star’ish. Good quality, not overly greased or creamed as can often happen at Indian restaurants. The ambiance is great but the price for the food is over charging it. The location and ambiance hike up the price but you can find this quality food at other Indian places around Artesia or even in this area for 3 – 5 bucks less per dish. So overall it’s a great place to take someone special on a date, party, or to show off. If you are a local and don’t mind sacrificing ambiance for cost, you can find equal if not better quality food throughout the East LA county and OC. Would I come back? Definitely, if the stars aligned themselves right but knowing that the dishes are 3 – 5 dollars over priced. Details: Great place for large private parties and small romantic stints as well. Banquet hall seats 300 but can be sectioned to smaller venues. Most importantly, food: Lamb tikka was nicely spiced and not overtly greasy or overly creamed. 8⁄10 Apple and mango salad was refreshing. 9⁄10 Vegetable cutlets were great, not too heavily battered as they can be. 8⁄10 Lamb tikka masala was average. Had better. 6⁄10 Malai Kufta was cooked well, a tad better then average. 6.5÷10 South Indian fish curry was excellent. One of the better dishes here. 8.5÷10 Cashew chicken was so so. Nothing special. Run of the mill. 4⁄10 Chocolate lava cake was sub par. Tasted like it was out of the box. Cake should have been denser. There was barely any melted chocolate inside. I have had many of these before and make it and have to say this was disappointing. 3.5÷10 Mango brule was quite nice. Chunks of mango inside. 8⁄10 Rasmalai was good. Not too sweet as they can be sometimes. 7⁄10. Btw, score of 7 is high coming from me given this is my favorite Indian dessert.

With a name like Torch I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this new place. I put it under Indian, but the is a noticeable fusion going on. As I walked in I knew that whoever owns it has spent a lot to make sure it is nicely appointed. There is tile everywhere and some gimmicky lights in the ceiling and bar top. It looked cool at first but started to get annoying after awhile. There was a bit of a feel that this should have been in a nice club not a dinner place. To counter that the music set a very nice ambiance with a mixed jazz feel. Since it was early and a weekday there were few people, and the staff really went out of their way to welcome me. The bar area is kinda mixed with the actual restaurant and is open and very comfortable. Even when busy it looks like there will be room for you. The beers on tap were not the usually suspects. If you do not know the smaller producers you might want to stick with the bottles. Since this was my first time, I ordered three dishes off the appetizer menu. –Asian nachos(which are crispy wontons with chicken, peanut sauce and other stuff). Not very hot but tasty as a snack for a group. –A pita type bread with a curry sauce, very good with a little heat. This would be an actual main course if they add a chicken or beef too it. –A shish kabob with what turned out to be a beef sausage. Very, very, tasty and it blended well with the supplied lemon wedge, and went really well with the previously mentioned pita bread. Remember the places name is Torch, with all the seasoning and heat you might want to take a antacid before, during and after. I did get a bit of a sticker shock when the bill came. The happy hour discounts must be small or the prices high. Something to check out on my next visit. Again, as this was the second day that the place was open the crew was trying hard to make a good impression, and definitely succeeded. I even met the owner who was very nice, very welcoming and open to suggestions. He really looks to make this a place that you will come back to again and again. In my case he did his job because I will definitely be back. The dinner menu looked interesting and needs to be explored.
