BAT Rafting – Breckenridge Adventure Tours

I coordinated a white water rafting trip for a group of my female friends and we all had a fantastic time.
From the beginning: I called and spoke with the owner, Eric, on the phone to set up a date /​time. I should note that he was helpful and responsive to my questions and provided a great deal of information about what we should expect. I asked some really amateur questions and expected him laugh when I explained that none of us knew what to wear, but he gave really good suggestions which I happily passed onto my group. None of us had ever rafted before and we were all nervous — some of us more than others!
We drove 2 cars’ full of women to meet up with the owner Eric and 2 other employees of Breckenridge Adventure Tours at the predetermined location. We got to take a break to use the restroom after the long drive, and get coffee and snacks and then we were off to the launch site. Once there, we were given the requisite safety gear and provided with an explanation of what we should do (are we rowing?!? We don’t know how to row! How do we hold the paddle? What if we drop the paddle? Etc.)
Our group was separated onto 2 different rafts and I happened to be on the raft that Eric guided. He was great. (My friends who were on the other raft with our 2^nd guide had a lot of complimentary things to say about him too.) Eric kept us informed throughout the trip. He told us in advance about when we would have opportunities to take photos, when to expect rapids to pick up pace, when to row, etc. At one point he even steered us through a rapid backward.
It was a super-​memorable experience and two of my friends ended up going back for more white water rafting trips with Breckenridge Adventure Tours. Highly recommended.

We bought 3 tickets through Groupon. It was a good deal, until you get to where this rafting trip is supposed to be at a dirt field, and no one will meet you there. This company is a SCAM. Do not book with them.

It seems this company is so busy deleting negative posts on its Facebook page from angry customers that it does not have the time to respond to phone calls or emails from people. It’s a good thing that companies like weeklyplus will refund your money when you get scammed by people like this.

Tried to go rafting today and it was a scam. His company name states Breckenridge and the address is in Breck. However, he gave me directions half way to Steamboat. I called him 20 times on my way there and he never answered. He still has not answered. I am reporting fraud and an investigation. Eric SUCKS. BE WARE!

Bought a coupon for a half day of fly-​fishing. Called and booked the appointment for a Monday. Eric said he would call a couple of days in advance. He never did. He also never returned my phone calls or emails. Do not buy any more of his vouchers. Many people on his FB page are saying the addresses don’t even exist.

I also bought vouchers from Weekly Plus for 2 half day rafting trips and when I called to book the trip I got a voicemail. I left a message and when I didnt hear back after a couple days I called again. Again, no response. I gave them the benefit of the doubt that maybe something was wrong with the phone etc so I emailed. Again nothing. I came across their Facebook page and posted a message to see if they were still in business and no response. They did take the time to delete my post though. I have requested a refund from weekly plus and if you are in the same boat, I suggest you do the same. I also noticed they just ran a deal with Groupon a few days ago. Maybe the plan to not honor these deals at all and to just collect as much as they can from these deal sites from those that dont request refunds What a scam! I’m just glad I wasn’t one of the ones that drove a couple hours out there to be stood up!
