Had the same experience as the other two reviewers. I was told that my insurance wasn’t really insurance but a «dental discount» program.(Interesting since the oral surgeon they sent me to said I had incredible insurance.) They clean your teeth a quadrant at a time, meaning that it take 4 appointments to get all your teeth clean. While waiting to have my last quadrant cleaned, the receptionist came in and told me that the doctor had ordered some additional«work» for me and that it would be $ 2000 after insurance. Asked what the«work» was, she didn’t know but assumed that the doctor had already discussed it with me(he hadn’t). Left without having the last quadrant cleaned and have never gone back. Sad thing is, he is recommended by our dental insurance company. I called them and told them he rips people off and they didn’t really seem to care.

Wow, I heard about Dr Patel from a co worker. He is fantastic. As a Unilocaler I was disturbed by the past reviews. His office is very clean, the staff is helpful and nice. I recently moved to the area and could not justify spending money in gas to see my old mediocre dentist. When I met Dr Patel I was pleased with his chair side manner and passion for dentistry… since I was a bit nervous. The best part of my visit was the fact that I knew I needed a crown. I was putting it off for a while. And he was able to make a crown in the office in one visit. I did not even have to gag on that goop they jam in your mouth! No temporary cap and I was off in two hours with a nice looking cap in the back of my mouth. It was virtually pain free! This was a great experience. I would recommend his office to my friends and family for sure.

I have to agree with the first guy. I had a similar experience. I went to him for awhile until I found out how much he had been over charging me. He would rail about the insurance companies and then go off plan and charge whatever he wanted. He seemed like a business man more interested in making money than taking care of my teeth. He charged $ 2800 for what the insurance company said should have been only $ 1300. He was pushing for a lot more work when I was out of insurance when it was unnecessary. I switched dentists and never went back. The things he was so urgent to get done lasted for a couple years! Don’t go to this guy!

Bad experience. Went for a checkup. Before he had even begun looking at my teeth, he tells me that I have an inferior health plan. Its not a health plan, its a discount plan, he said. I said ok, fine, there’s nothing I can do until I switch plans at the end of the year. Then he began with the checkup. Told me that I would need a deep cleaning, a couple of cavities that needed filling and that I’m going to need all four wisdom teeth taken out. I said ok, cant be helped, lets just get it done. Told me to schedule an appointment with the secy for the deep cleaning, to be done in 4 visits, one quadrant each time. Secy called me a week later to let me know that the deep cleaning would cost $ 1700AFTER insurance for one quadrant. I was shocked. I asked for a breakdown of costs and for a list of things that he was going to work on. Secy was not able to provide this, I asked repeatedly for a list of specific action items. She kept saying that it would be whatever the doc had discussed with me. I’m sorry, but a deep cleaning does not cost 1700×4. Thats just ridiculous. I never went back here again. Made some excuse and cancelled the appointment. To me, it was clear that he’s just an arrogant, money-minded cheat who thinks he can charge people whatever they want and lead us where ever he wants like the Pied Piper of Hamlin did to the rats in Germany in the middle ages. I’m sure he’s a cool guy outside of work and we would have been friends if we met, but I despise people like him who are out to take advantage of people. Now my dentist is Dr Peloza at Daniel Kim dentistry in Lake Zurich. Love them! Got 2 of my wisdom teeth extracted by Dr Robert Baima in Hoffman Estates. He was amazing, extraction was very clean and efficient. I was in pain only the first day. The second day onwards I didnt need any pain killers. There was some swelling and soreness, but thats to be expected after having your teeth pulled out.
