Awful!!! Wanted to try this place, since we live so close. Ordered red curry and lemon grass chicken. Both orders list string beans, bamboo shoots. Well, obviously to cook everything with green peppers and onions is much cheaper! Both dishes came with thick sliced green onions and regular onions. When I tried to call back with questions, the lady stated, sorry, no green beans and we are not refunding money!!! So for your money they will cook you whatever is cheaper for them without regards to what you ordered. Shrimp fried rice was overcooked and heavy on soy sauce. Such a disappointment!!!

Too bad I can’t give this place 0 stars. Where to start… I ordered the shrimp with lobster sauce. When i received it, half the sauce was spilled into the bag. In addition there was 2 pieces of shrimp. I called asking what happened and they said we put 7 shrimp in. I was pissed at this point. I told them I’m looking into my box and there is clearly only 2 shrimps. Enough about how they screwed me over. So i asked them for a refund because I wasn’t going to pay the full amount for 2 shrimps and half the sauce missing. They only gave me a $ 3 refund. I honestly don’t know how they have good reviews from other people. They are probably friends with the managers or workers there, but in reality this place is terrible. DONOTORDERFROMHERE. Also I puked and had diarrhea cause there was something wrong with food.

I love their food, however, I’m giving them 3 stars for their service because they don’t always take online orders or do deliveries when they are supposed to be. They don’t even answer their phones half the time.

How is this place still in business? How does fried rice taste like chocolate? How did they make the chicken so white looking? Why was everything foul tasting except the orange chicken, which was actually pretty good? Why did the egg rolls taste a week old? Why is the sweet and sour sauce packaged? And why is it YELLOW? WHYDON’T YOUMAKEYOUROWN? AREN’T YOU A CHINESEFOODPLACE? I have questions. Questions that need answers.

Best Chow Fun I ever had ! Portions are large and the soups are great. But take out can be difficult at times. The place has been the same fir 20 + years. Time to redecorate. Old and the same old interior. But the food and drinks are excellent !

Cheap and quick. I ordered $ 30 worth, including delivery and tip, of either flavorless or weirdly flavored crap. Dry, low quality, shoe leather beef. Weird, overcooked cabbage flavors in the egg rolls. Sludge like consistency in the mushroom beef sauce. Fried rice that has no flavor. If you need to feed a lot of people you aren’t terribly fond of for cheap, this place is great. If it’s decent quality Chinese food you are after, go elsewhere friends.

Worse egg rolls that I have ever eaten. I always predetermine whether I want to order entrees based on the quality of their egg rolls. NOWAY!

Placed an order for delivery. After over an hour I called to find out what was taking so long. Their delivery driver got lost. Drove around for awhile and then went back to the restaurant. Is it too much to expect a phone call? I would have gladly given directions. Then said they were too busy and wanted me to come and pick up. If I could pick up I wouldn’t have ordered for delivery. At least offer me a free egg roll for the mix up. Nope. What a shame because their food was actually pretty decent.

Someone else mentioned Shrimp Toast and they were spot on! Delicious. We’ve ordered from this place a few times now for delivery. They seem to be the cheapest and the food isn’t too bad. I haven’t found anything else yet here that WOWED me. The rest of the food has been«MEH». My perfect order here is 1 or 2 orders of shrimp toast and an order of fried rice.

Very«eh,» but we weren’t expecting much. Ordered egg rolls, chicken fried rice, beef with broccoli, and moo shu pork. Egg roll was pretty bland. Fried rice was fine, nothing special, not a whole lot of flavor, maybe a little overcooked. Beef with broccoli was salty(IMHO) but seemed fresh. I didn’t try the moo shu because that’s not my cup of tea.

I’ve tried all of the other Chinese restaurants in the area and this one tops them all. Two words… shrimp…toast. Absolutely order the shrimp toast. It’s the best I’ve had. And pretty much anything else on the menu that I’ve tried has been excellent. Just wondering why their name on Unilocal is Yuq’s and not Yu’s. That needs to be fixed.

We just ordered a couple family sized chow funs from Yu’s Kitchen in Buffalo Grove. The food quality was reminiscent of the good old days. Noodles were fresh, beef was tender, and the flavor profiles spot on. Great food overall. We ordered delivery and it arrived piping hot. The smoothie we got was in its own bag to keep cold. Keep up the good work, and we will be ordering more soon! BTW, if you are wondering if you should order the small or large size, I recommend the large. It feeds 2 – 3 people, so I usually make 2 meals out of it. The small feeds 1 – 2 people, and I usually have a little bit left over, but not quite enough for a second portion. For just a few dollars more, I can ensure that I have enough to bring for lunch the next day.

About 6 months ago, I ordered $ 40 worth of food, with the plan to have leftovers for several days. Sadly, I found two very long dark thick black hairs in my food upon the 1st reheat meal. So literally $ 35 worth of food went in the trash can. Just to clarify, I do not have dark black thick long hair, so it wasn’t mine. I have not been back since. There was no point in trying to complain, as there is nothing that could be done to win me over as a customer again. It’s like when I ate at I am Siam and they had a milk cap container cooked in my food. That was 6 years ago and I have not returned there either. The food was quite good, so I’m sad that this restaurant is now permanently off of my Chinese food list. But I’m still half-throwing-up in my mouth just writing this review. Avoid.

I was craving Chinese food while away from home and in Buffalo Grove for work. What a pleasant surprise! The rice is of decent quality, which is what I always measure restaurants by. If they are willing to have quality basics, they understand good food. I ordered BBQ Pork Fried Rice(tasty, nice and dry, with sprouts) Broccoli and Shrimp(Nice and light, in wet sauce, good accompaniment with white rice) Chicken Wings(it was fried so well! And I was surprised at how much meat were on the bones, they weren’t the super-skinny chickens lol) All in all, it greatly satisfied my cravings, and a was a good hearty dinner in my hotel room.

Based on my first visit yesterday this place is a winner in my book. Can’t wait to try more items off of the huge menu. I had a Mongolian Beef lunch special and it was excellent. If the rest of the menu is as good I’ll have to upgrade my rating. There are a couple tables but it’s primarly a take out joint.

Ladies and gentlemen, I’ve officially found my new guilty pleasure. Honey Double shrimp and scallops. For anyone who enjoys golden shrimp when they go out to hibachi restaurants, I beg you to try this. It’s not exactly the same, but it’s like golden shrimp’s sweet little sister. I only got a small because I didn’t know what to expect… I wish I had gotten a large! It was so good I even ate some of the evil broccoli that accompanied it. Anything is good when you smother it in a sweet mayonaissey sauce. The fried rice is delicious, the orange beef is delicious, the crab rangoon is delicious(and free with a twenty dollar purchase!) I ordered delivery online through grub hub. They estimated my delivery time to be an hour, and it arrived in 40 minutes. High fives for early arrivals!

Decided to update my review as it looks like the original owner is gone. For my first trip back, I opted for some fried potstickers and shrimp fried rice. The sauce for the pot stickers was kind of sweet — never had it that way, it was different in a good way. The shrimp fried rice was status quo — though that is tough to screw up. The big test is still pending — Yu’s Mongolian Beef was always excellent. I’ll miss the old guy — he was such a character. Though he did used to «guess» at times when charging for orders — and he was usually a little higher than the published prices.

The food at Yu’s is deliciousness! They are located in an unassuming strip mall on Dundee surrounded by nothing particularly spectacular. Once you get their food though, you’ll realize you’ve stumbled on a hidden gem. Yu’s sister restaurant is Kim’s in Glenview which is my stomping grounds and the OG of all Chinese takeouts in the burbs. I always get a special order of honey chicken made up which is about the most unhealthy dish in the world doused in sugar and mayo… mmmmmmmm…where’s my fork?! Just about everything I’ve had here is tasty. I recommend their sweet and sour chicken — yummy sauce full of flavor and crispy chicken pieces. Now, pick your phone up and place your takeout(or delivery) order pronto!
