I loved this place. Came back to buffalo from NJ to visit the hometown for a few days and see family around my birthday. The trip turned stressful when some family health issues arose. So to have a few minutes to get away and enjoy dinner with my mom was needed. As a vegan, amazing food and variety is hard to find. This place had both in abundance! It was great to have to make decisions about what to get! We couldn’t decide on some so we just ordered a bunch of stuff all of which was delicious!(Even for my non vegan mom). Further the waitress was so nice and attentive. Just reminded me why Buffalo is the city of good neighbors. Thank you for a great experience Amy’s!

Great, cheap breakfast food with large servings and great vegetarian options. A favorite.

This is legit my favorite restaurant. I’ve been in Dallas for years but grew up in Buffalo, and while I was home for a graduation and a wedding, I dragged my sister to Amy’s Place twice and to their food truck once, too. This place has that cool, hipster/grungy vibe(but don’t worry, it’s hella clean) with mismatched coffee mugs, unpretentious décor, etc. Try the lentil breakfast with tofu sizzle strips AND homemade seitan(trust me, get them both). If you’re feeling sandwichy, the vegan beef on weck is made with that same seitan, sliced nice and thin, and topped with an amazing horseradish cream sauce. I dream about that sandwich, no joke.

Kinda Underwhelmed. I’ve heard a lot of good buzz about Amy’s Place and decided to finally check it out recently. I thought everything was okay, which was kind of surprising. I mean it wasn’t bad, but it definitely wasn’t anything that great either. I expected to have a breakfast that sort of stood out among other places, but it was pretty average.

If you’re looking for an eclectic divey diner with seriously amazing food, you’ve got to try Amy’s. A small, about 8 booth diner, with about 5 small tables in the middle. On street parking. On the weekend mornings, you may have to wait outside for a table in a long line, which can be a serious problem during a Buffalo winter, so be prepared. But, I do recommend it. The pancakes are seriously amazing. I get the build your own with pecans and banana. The sweetness of the banana, the slight crunch of the pecans and the crispy, buttery edges are delightful. The Vegan and/or Vegetarian options are the best in the city. The varieties and the creativity are unsurpassed. I love Veggie Wet Shoes, Cait’s plate, The Biff, and I’m still dreaming of the meatless italian sausage sandwich they had on the menu once… once! I look for it every time and am often sad, but always find something else to make me happy. My hubby likes the vegan reuben and vegan beef on weck. What I also love about this place is that I can bring my meat eating friends and they always leave happy too. Real bacon, hamburgers and more. Cash only!

I mean, I can’t put into words about this place. I’m a sucker for hole in the wall diners like these that serve the best food. Obviously, Amy’s has made its way into my heart, soul and clinched the #1 spot on my favorite restaurants in Buffalo list. Since I’ve discovered this place(which was within the first month of moving to Buffalo), I’ve eaten here at an average of once a week. Being a vegetarian, for me, there is not one place here in Buffalo that comes close to Amy’s in terms of options, price or quality of food. This trifecta is what keeps Amy’s reputation bright and shiny. My favorites are the veggie wet shoes, lentil soup, the lentil berry, Biff sandwich and also the rest of the menu. There are so many options, it really is hard for me to pick my favorite dish. Please, for the love of veggies, eat here at least once in your life. That’s all I ask. Satisfaction definitely guaranteed. If you do not like your experience, contact me and I’ll be happy to buy you your next meal here. DISCLAIMER: CASHONLY!!!

I really don’t like to write bad reviews, especially at places where the food isn’t bad. My problems stem entirely service related. Food wise there’s a good selection, good prices, and it’s usually good. Last time we came here was for breakfast. We were in the line, got seated as quickly as possible, and then left to sulk. We were given waters and then the waitress zoomed off, clearly busy, but never asked us if we wanted anything to drink other than water. I watched 2 other groups after us(we were only a group of 2…) get seated and order coffee after us, and got the coffee before us. We waited for 30 minutes with nothing. For a place that wants to serve and push people out fast, this is not the ideal way. Our waitress finally acknowledged us by saying she just had to serve an app and she’d come back to get our order… Another 10 minutes. I watched her serve an app, a few meals, and get someone else’s order. Eventually she came to our table and asked if we were ready, as if it isn’t possible to read the entire menu front to back in 40 minutes. My fiancé said we’d been ready for a while, and she got offended. She said«sorry I’m not fast enough» and scoffily got our order. We ordered 2 coffees, but she only could manage to slam 1 coffee cup on the table, almost scalding herself or my fiancé. I didn’t want to bother asking for my chance for 2nd degree burns, so I just drank water. There was no sugar at our table, just spilled coffee from a hissyfit. I felt bad for the waitress for a while about being so busy, and wasn’t a fan of the way the fiancé worded it, but at the end of the meal I saw 2 or 3 people who ordered after us pay and leave before we even got fed. That was where I drew the line because we never really ask for much. On the grosser side, I saw the cooks drop a bottle of some condiment(looked like a salad dressing or something they put in a dish) on the floor and it got kicked around until someone picked it up and put it on the food service station… EW! Our original and immature waitress never came back to our table. Literally every other person at the restaurant came to refill the one coffee and give us our bill. How professional. Needless to say, we won’t come back. I wish it weren’t abnormal, but for some reason, everytime I’ve come here I get standoffish waitresses for who knows why.

I might possibly be in love with their lentils. Go early for the breakfast specials! This little gem is a must-go-to for everyone passing by or living in buffalo. Service is good. It gets a little backed up because of the small amount of tables, but definitely worth the wait. Try it out, it just might be your new favorite local breakfast spot.

When your parents come to town to check up on your progress towards adulthood, or to make sure the commie bastards at that brain-washing institute haven’t turned you into a liberal, be sure to drag them here against their will to show them the best part about living in the charming and run-down university heights. Amy’s Place, while not the most bright nor beautiful eatery, is where students and locals go to enjoy some of the best diner fare ever. Amy’s Place was my best friend while at university, for a morning breakfast of hot lentils and broccoli for a generously priced early bird special, or their awesome vegan Biff sandwich for lunch, or some great falafel dinner stuff. Vegans go nuts for this spot, and non-vegans love it without even noticing. Support this amazing local eatery and Amy’s will support you in return time and time again.

Am amazing place for tons of vegan and vegetarian options. It is a must visit if you are in Buffalo. Located in the main road, this little den is a perfect place to share your early morning rantings.

Amy’s is a convenient little diner by UB South Campus that specializes in brunch and vegetarian meals. It gets pretty packed on a Saturday afternoon with students, so the sooner you get there the better. Also don’t forget to bring your cash with you, since it’s a cash only establishment. I ordered the 2−2−2: 2 strawberry pancakes, 2 scrambled eggs, and 2 sausages which is pretty standard diner food. I have no complaints, I pretty much feel neutral about my food and the overall experience. You’ll definitely see some people in their pyjamas, ’cause that’s the kind of place Amy’s is. Not too far away from home or campus, so you still feel comfortable and won’t be judged for it.

Love love love this place ! For vegans and vegetarians in Buffalo, this place is a Godsend. I studied at UB and used to frequent this place a lot — very close to campus. I recently went there again on my visit for graduate work at UB and this places is as is I remember from last year. Everything is amazing, you cannot go wrong here– omelets, pancakes, burgers, lentil sandwiches – especially their lentils are great. Great early morning breakfast specials are a good steal for the quality and quantity of food you get. Beware its a cash only place. They have ATM inside though. Weekends wait time could go up-to 20 – 25 minutes especially when the weather is great. They do not take reservations. Despite of all of these things, I still give it a 5 star — love the cool, hip local vibe and seriously how many vegan-vegetarian diners have you seen ?! love the fact that bacon is not the center stage here :)

I feel embarrassed that I did not give Amy’s Place a review earlier– but here it finally is. I have been a long-time fan for breakfast, lunch and dinner and I still am. My favorite thing about this place is how cozy it seems. You are always bound to run into someone you know, the staff is extremely friendly and seem to remember«regulars» which is awesome. The food is awesome. I like to order something different each time, the LA Cinnamon french toast is one of my favorites in Buffalo, and the wraps and lunch items are so delicious(and seem healthy which is a plus.) I always recommend out of state friends to try Amy’s and they leave satisfied!

This is my favorite restaurant in Buffalo, possibly my favorite in America. When I knew I was leaving the country for two years I ate here everyday for a week. Their food is fantastic. I’m a vegetarian, my father is not, he once ate half my falafel without realizing that it wasn’t meat. The only problem I might have with Amy’s is that there are so many vegetarian choices that it’s hard to decide what to order. My favorites are the Cait’s plate, falafel, and the lentil soup. ***Important note: they only take cash, although they do have an ATM***

I really love this place! The breakfast is amazing and I can’t wait to try other things on the menu. They’re always a little packed but they always have a tables ready to quickly seat people when they walk in. The employees are really cool too. It’s clean and they have nice art hanging on the walls. Today I got two eggs and toast and it was really delicious and it’s really a bang for your buck; four pieces of toast with choice of about 3 jellies and eggs. The food came out quick and it was sooooooooooooo good.

First time here and wasn’t super impressed. I saw on Unilocal that the wet shoes are amazing and extremely popular but I was disappointed. Just lentils over fries. I would however come back to try the other things on the menu. They have a lot of vegetarian and vegan options that sound pretty good. The food is very inexpensive — of course, it’s in university heights. The one complaint I have is that the restaurant itself was kind of dirty/messy and our server never came to check on us.

This needs yo be closer to D’youville College … but then again if it was … I’d probably be broke. I read reviews on how it wasn’t the most clean/fancy place but I grew up eating in chinatown so not really a bother for me. But when you come through the back and smell something delicious from an awesome looking food truck, you know you gotta hurry on in and place an order. I had the berrylentil and this was my first time probably ever eating lentils? It was amazing and a bang for the buck. I actually got the mega but he packed it to go for me. I wasn’t disappointed and I can’t wait to go back to try the other dishes. I was a bit disappointed in the cinnamon french toast, maybe I’m more of a waffle/pancake guy haha. It wasn’t bad, but I think i’ve had better french toast elsewhere.

Don’t get me wrong; Amy’s place is sort of a dive. That being said, it is the best of its kind. Its quirkiness grows on you from their random mugs for coffee and tea, to customer’s art they drew on their menus. So, the food is good. It isn’t perfect, but it is damn good and extremely consistent. My favorites are the Lentil-Berry Sandwich(I almost always get this), Veggie Wet Shoes, Shawarma, Kibbee & always the Maza dish. It is a must to try so you can sample a little bit of everything. Don’t be scared by the décor, or the need for a deep cleaning, Amy’s Place is a must go.
